What are you playing now?
Wrapped up the end of Kingdoms of Amalur. Which was strangely enjoyable, but yet having apparently spent a little over 80 hours wandering through it and the dlc.. I have few strong memories of any particular story points. Hm, well the dlc sticks out in memory more then anything else. But the characters and such like seem to have mostly blended together. Still, I think I can say for about £15, that was worth the money.

What you did today
Well tis sunny and after a chunk of dealing with various and sundry "admin" like tasks for the day, and just putting another batch of laundry out on the line under that bright sunshine.. I'm going ot call it quits for the day and sit back with a deep glass of mixed fruit juice and figure out some totally pointless but generally fun thing to do with my time. Possibly involving computer generated explosions.

EA Granted Star Wars License
Eh, there are worse fates the licence could suffer. While I'm not wildly optimistic at the moment, I'm not ready to cry woe and rail against the universe. I'll stick to a wait and see approach until they announce the next couple of games...

I imagine one might learn of certain peccadilloes entertained by your friends in such a gaming situation. This strikes me as moderately disturbing--didn't wanna know that about Hank. Let's not say anything about the GM might reveal in their reactions and choice of twisting the behaviour of the various npc's involved....

Oh the joys of a well-executed jail break. As diverted into slap-stick comedy by a cunning GM....- Community Photo Sharing Thread

I always have mixed feelings about Stan Lee, on the one hand, yes, he is a major cultural icon of the comic industry, he usually seem's willing to take a poke of fun at himself, and he has certainly guided a whole slew of comic-related matters over the years.. On the other hand, you hear how he's managed to take credit for the work of a lot of others over the years and shifted their original visions around in the process of making it all a "part of stan lee's legacy".. So I think it becomes a mixed bag. Ah well, that's probably the same that can be said for any larger-then-life character that has been around for decades..- The funny things thread

- The Internet and How it Ruins Us
Well I saw some psychology/sociology studies that most "friendships" last around 7 years before you end up falling out of contact with them (and yes, that's the real-life ones, not just the internet weirdos you chat to...). So take a step back and think about how many people you knew in real life 7 years ago that you still chat to, see, or communicate in any meaningful way. Then compare to how many folks you semi-chat to/at on these boards and how long that's been going on... Or at least, how many people you made the acquaintance of over the internet 7 years ago. Heh, I know I have a couple of friends I've been talking to via online technology for a decade at least. In a couple of occasions some of those friends have hooked up, moved countries and gotten married to other friends on the internet in that time frame....- What you did today
Been prodding some work along, sent off an email, decided to take a break and have another poke at Game Dev Tycoon..and found that apparently my headphones have decided to not work. So now I'll have to go spend money on some new headset. Darn it.- What are you playing now?

"There are two kinds of officers, sir: killin' officers and murderin' officers. Killin' officers are poor old buggers that get you killed by mistake. Murderin' officers are mad, bad, old buggers that get you killed on purpose - for a country, for a religion, maybe even for a flag." Walsingham's addendum: Officers tell you where to die, NCOs get you there on time, commissars make sure you do. "An experienced NCO outranks a 2nd Leutenant without a clue. A running Ordnance Disposal guy, outranks EVERYBODY."- What you did today

Having a slow start to the day here with one of those draining headaches grinding along on the forebrain. My mother is having a major cleaning/reshuffle of things around in her room. Which with the furniture and odds and ends and her moving around doesn't really leave room for anyone to help her. Plus it's that "carefully constructed stacks of things" that only she knows how she wants them organised. So I'm pretty much staying out of it except when there's a need to shift the bed/furniture around and provide those chunks of manual labour... Tis hot and sunny and bright outside.. so I'm pretty much lurking to the shade inside and avoiding the feeling of life today..- What's on the idiot box...
The first three seasons are quite good and interconnected. The 4th doesn't quite hold up as much, and the 5th while quite interesting in what they try to do and entertaining in it's way, doesn't quite seem to hold up to the promise of the first few seasons. Edit: Of course, I might have picked that up because I pretty much watched it enmasse when I had seasons 3, 4, and 5 all together over the course of basically one long weekend and bank holiday... Oh, LadyCrimson, if you're watching that Sherlock series, keep your eyes out.. Jude Law turns up as a young boy in pretty much one of his first acting gigs if I recall correctly. - The funny things thread
