  1. I'm sure this can neither be confirmed, nor denied.
  2. I think the trouble is the majority of the forum regulars talk (type) to newcomers exactly as they would to other long-time forum regulars. So in a way, this forum is very much about equality. It's just that equality is that everyone gets treated the same regardless of your race, creed, sex, alt, or brand of geekism. We don't really do the "you're someone new [insert brand of special snowflake] so we have to treat you completely different so you feel comfortable until you get to know everybody and understand why so much of it isn't serious or why this is a personal trait of that idiot and that's part of so-and-so's charm" Since we have a certain history of one or two people wandering in and playing certain extreme forms of political/ethnic behaviour in with multiple alts... There's a certain nod-nod, wink-wink, whenever someone new turns up with certain shades of that.
  3. The final episode is a "twenty years after" one. The final days of the Babylon 5 station, it has some AMAZING music for the score. Plus the rather nice touch of JMS himself playing the janitor who turns out the lights for the last time.
  4. Part of it is, the EU isn't some shiny well developed thing. It's a convoluted product of half a century or more of assorted treaties and the various non-elected bureaucracies that were developed to handle them. Things have been mashed together, glued together, partially torn apart and mixed with other elements, turned around and knitted together, before being wrapped in baling wire.
  5. Saw the first episode of Preacher. The initial thoughts are favourable, although it looks like they're doing the slow burn build up. Of course, the second episode might shift that. It's kind of amusing that for a show that starts out set in Texas, a bunch of the main actors are originally from the UK. That, and that the Irish character is played by a Brit, while the Irish actress is playing a Texan.
  6. For the general run on parenting skills and all... Kate Beckinsale revealed she got with her Ex Martin Sheen to recreate pictures from their daughter's birth day for her 16th birthday. Kate Beckinsale celebrating daughters birthday with awkward photos
  7. Just go looking around the Nexus at all the fan mods for Bloodlines. I'm pretty sure there are a few overhaul and performance tweaks in there... For the useful hints on that : Weekend Modder's Guide to VtM Bloodlines
  8. Spent rather too long playing a concentrated bout of Stellaris yesterday. Got to somewhere around the late 2300's I think, have about a third of the map within my borders sort of wrapped around the galactic centre, with about 5 alien races as protectorates under me. Of course, pretty much everyone else dislikes or outright hates my xenophile, diplomatic, democratic arse. At the moment I seem to be running through the same stuff again and again just managing resources almost for the sake of managing resources. Possibly slight burn out after most of a day on it. One thing I do dislike some is the diplomacy options. Unless I'm missing something really obvious, the only way to get positive reactions from other species/governments is to share certain ethics and government policies, and establish an embassy. Gifts and treaties have little to no positive bonus to relations. And unless you're of a pacifist ethic, you can only have 3 embassies at any one time.
  9. Plus they're about to hit the point where they lose the flashback parts. The whole "five years previous" will be catching up to Oliver leaving the island fairly soon. That'll shift the storytelling process somewhat.
  10. Okay, comment from a friend that had me chuckling
