  1. Actually, no. It's a run of the mill Tabloid newspaper. Not as high brow as The Guardian, not quite as low-brow as The Sun. But it does tend to have that off-centre right bias.
  2. Actually, this has me snerking some.. Wikipedia bans the Daily Mail as unreliable source
  3. I am tempted to put this in politics..but eh..
  4. Heh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDEWKx0PtUg Also of course.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t54pRv4PwMk

  6. That's already up in the Politics thread.
  7. For the bit that kind of hovers somewhere between Politics, Weird Things, News, and Funny things... Seattle - Police release man arrested in shooting Although it's nice to hear from the University President on one issue that seems to a losing battle these days: And for a comment made by a certain right-wing author I know.. (which does make me chuckle just a wee bit):
  8. The joys and madness of Brian Blessed... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izTyFvzs_wI
  9. So someone turned their CV into a Character Sheet. Quirky. Not sure just how well it would work out, but I guess that depends on the job field you happen to be hunting in...
  10. Edited: Someone beat me to it.
  11. I have to admit, it is kind of interesting to see the reports about how DeVos family contributions had been made to every single senator in the room voting on her confirmation... DeVoss family gave nearly $10 million prior to 2016 election http://endcitizensunited.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Web-DeVos.pdf
  12. To interject into the middle of serious politics...
  13. Lol, I noticed that too! I even commented to my wife that the mooks sure were making it easy to identify them. Apparently the Director had it done as an homage to the whole redshirt thing. I guess it also makes sense, security at clubs do like to ensure a certain "uniform" to make them recognisable from the crowd...
  14. For that whole club scene, it's the little things that amused me. All the bad guys he was killing were wearing literal red shirts.
  15. In some regards to the action sequences, this might interest a few folks: Tom Cruise, John Wick, and the New Hollywood Gunfight A touch on how single shots of well-practiced moves add a sense of realism and effect that you lose when it's all "cut here, cut there, change angle over there.." that you used to get in most action sequences. Thus the physical training and muscle memory of being able to perform x martial arts or y firearms drills provide a more effective burst of action than you might otherwise get, especially when it's all obviously done in one single take.
