  1. Not a tv show per se, but I stumbled on "Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown" on Amazon Prime. Robin Atkin Downes narrating an examination of H.P. Lovecrafts life and writing, with a lot of support from a group such as Neil Gaiman, Peter Straub, Guillermo del Toro, Stuart Gordon, Caitlin Kiernan, John Carpenter and a few others. Nothing too in-depth if you already know your Lovecraft, and possibly too shallow if you know nothing it sort of hits a middle line of exploring / explaining individual works, but it has the benefits of interesting people talking about something that interests them.
  2. The fact that the countdown has received a "Less than 2077 minutes to go before release...."
  3. So was talking with my line manager, that reminder that both of us were hired for a 2 year fixed contract for a specific project within the company, and that technically our contracts end in March. While other people on the project have now pushed back key steps until April and points later. So there's been that "Uh, guys, risk assessment? The data team won't be here at that date because ..contracts ending." The senior people are all rushing around with that "Oh no! We need you! We'll do something about it!!" But don't hear anything official. So eh, I now get to enjoy that mix of Christmas and New Years both a> Crushing overwork as they try to cram in vital project work into the time table and b> Give some thought to starting that job search....

  10. The released footage wasn't too bad but there wasn't much of it shown. For the teaser trailer when they gathered the fans in New Orleans for the big reveal to say "Yes, we're basing it on Vampire the Masquerade, not Vampire the Requiem" : If you're somewhat curious on it, there is the World of Darkness Documentary which covers the creation, the journey through the 90's, the tv show, the strife, suing the fan-club, CCP's buyout, and general stuff. It's free on Amazon Prime in the UK at the moment, don't know about other regions.
  11. The multi-player one was when CCP bought White Wolf. They spent x amount of years developing it, had started to hype it.... And then Eve Online suddenly stopped making as much money, and since that was the focus of CCP, they pulled a lot of resources out of the Vampire development back to Eve. Then cancelled the game. Then Paradox managed to get White Wolf. And now we have the wait on Bloodlines 2.....
  12. I have to admit, I like a lot of the concepts and ideas behind DA2. The story over years, the breaks between chapters, the idea that the city would change depending on your choices... And then the execution of said ideas happened. It was.. serviceable, but then didn't really mean much in the long run. And yes, games re-use assets, it's a thing, and we expect that. But for some reason those rinse-repeat caves were just glaringly obvious and made it feel cheap.
