  1. Interesting read but I don't think that he's actually schizophrenic or if it he is then he has a pretty good handle on it.
  2. Those could be vector graphics it seems, although it is more likely they are high resolution pixels with particle effects and a good shader. I couldn't get a good look at the color information from that video.
  3. Just wait until furries are legally considered animals, you can just dress the corpse in an animal suit afterward and it be just like hunting. Just make sure that it's rabbit season.
  4. Liked is a subjective thing. Eric Kain said that the Witcher might be "the best open world game" I'm inclined to agree. The areas feel natural, realistic and you have a clear sense of what happened there from both the level design and the story. Writing and voice acting is superb and really draws you in, very few instances of real life creeping in which is a big problem for me with fantasy (since they draw from real life as inspiration) Beautiful 3D models, the armors are expertly crafted and smartly made as well. They made their assets modular but with both progression and they were smart about hiding their repetition. The quests are good, even minor quests have their own interesting stories and resolutions. It is also why people are saying that the Witcher is a good detective game since a lot of these minor quests have various resolutions depending on whether or not you investigate or if you make the wrong conclusion. It just the combat and character progression are bad and for very dumb reasons that could have been easily fixed with better design. I disagree with you that the relationship with Yennefer was great, but i'm coming from just having played the games and never have read any of the books. Even still I find it odd that after finding each other they simply get back to business without even reconnecting or even mentioning what happened at the beginning of the game series. I don't hate the character, it is just that there is no presentation. She is forced as a romance option because it is already established, without any thought that this might be the first impression for a lot of gamers who have no love for the character or any notion of their relationship.
  5. And that is a very unreasonable, untrue and scurrilous view to have about CDPR..... See, based on the Witcher 2 and this one I get the feeling that they have some trouble with basic game design. They excel at everything else but the core gameplay has been an issue these last 2 games. Before you couldn't drink potions, now you can't equip oils Witcher 2 combat relied heavily on rolling, Witcher 3 combat relies on dodging and rolling. Both games have very restrictive skill trees that encourage specialization and punish multiclassing. I installed a mod to get rid of the level restrictions on Witcher gear as it is already difficult to get and craft without me having to wait 2 levels to equip it. I also installed a mod that changes the level scaling for enemies so that you can fight higher level enemies and so lower level enemies give more of a challenge. Because I would like to explore and finish quest without having to come back to them 3 days after without remembering what the hell were they about. Big problem in my vanilla playthrough, particularly with one quest that i got early on that had a level 33 restriction that I never finished because I barely hit level 29 after all the main quest was done.
  6. Now CDproject has entered the same level as Bethesda when we start saying: "Mods will fix it"
  7. Maybe they should hunt environmentalists?
  8. What about Flash, is he just a track runner on meth?
  9. Its kind of the same as the concept artist, where they just ask you to change things because either they changed their minds or the concept doesn't translate well into 3D. It could also be that I'm not that talented
  10. If Saints Row taught me anything is how to devalue property prices.
  11. Not much of a surprise really. I don't see why she even bothered writing a letter about it. It's not like her pro-Israel stance is some kinda mystery. It's one of the few topics where I agree with her. Why do you guys have a problem with it? I don't have a problem with Israel myself (don't know nearly enough about the Israeli-Palestinian situation to have an opinion on it). I guess it doesn't bother you to send millions of your tax dollars to support a vicious nation that attacks both its allies and enemies and seems to have no qualms about committing genocide. Plus there is the whole Samson Option thing and how the freaking insane the Israeli hardliners are; If you don't know they talk about nuking even their allies as retaliation for genocide against them. I really don't want to support that nation.
  12. If you ever took Nathan Fillion seriously then you were watching Firefly wrong.
  13. Nonsense, there is no causal link between overnutrition/wastefulness in the 1st world, and starvation in the 3rd world. If 1stworlders were more frugal with food, the consequence would not be more food on the tables in Africa, it would be more money left in the pockets of the 1stworders for other things (and less food getting produced in the first place). Hunger in the 3rd world is a consequence of: lack of infrastructure and technology which would be needed to produce enough food locally (irrigation etc.) lack of infrastructure which would be needed to live off non-local food (roads & transportation, supermarkets, non-corrupt authorities) lack of protection against natural disasters civil war and displacement governments that fail to protect property rights, and prevent the poor from having access to the market economy the success of the 1st world eco movement in banning and/or sabotaging GMO enhanced crops that could dramatically increase the productivity of poor farmers Nah, it was because of the embargo.
  14. I used to think I was white but now I'm apparently Hispanic. Is there a support group for people that have lost their white privilege?
  15. I meant literally when all other options have been exhausted. I'll eat grass and bark and dig worms out of the ground to eat before I eat human, but once there is absolutely nothing else and it's down to chomp on human or die of starvation, I would imagine that survival instinct would override any and all moral aversion I have toward cannibalism. The problem is that the other guy might not have such well developed morals and might skip eating grass and bark entirely, patiently waiting until eventually you start feeling ill and weak from eating things that don't go well with your digestive system. And then, it's fava beans and chianti time. snip Don't eat the liver, it is full of vitamin A and it toxic on high levels. Refer to image for proper human cuts.
  16. Sure, but lets be fair here. You are a far more intelligent and confident person than most of the black people who suffered under Apartheid ....despite the fact you have also had tough experiences you came out stronger in many ways and that worked for you. So I get your personal view of not having much sympathy because if you can do it you believe others can...and in most cases that would be true but not in this case ....you need to accept you are Cuban....Cubans are not Africans What matters is ideology not just conditions, there have been some studies pointing out that middle class values lead inner city kids to success whilst the ones who embrace ghetto culture grow up into a life of crime. Generally speaking, smart people are rare and not really a measure of the general population but First world general populations have more information available to them than Third World. But that has no bearing on the subject of will and morals, you can work towards making your life better while being a decent person without being a Rhodes scholar. It is what a lot of people do and who are unfairly paired with the worst examples of their ethnicity because some people have the misguided notion that other people's choices is somehow their fault and responsibility. They are not children and they know right from wrong and there is a difference between a thief who draws the line at a moral relative and the ones who have no limits. Those things have nothing to do with culture.
  17. Ghost Shark.
  18. The thing is that some of us don't subscribe to the school of cultural relativism and know that there are views that are inherently superior to others. People wallowing in contempt while doing nothing to improve their condition is very unproductive.
  19. 13 assassins.
  20. And she's probably white.
  21. So SJ is now trying to carry the White Man's burden, to carry those less privileged towards a semblance of morality. I truly find the idea of debating with people that believed that virgin blood would cure aids or similar intelligence level, pointless.
  22. Its one of those kinda games that gets better the older you get. Most of those gamers probably played it in their late teens and having replayed it over the years have discovered how different the game is, depending on your own maturity.. Much like Planescape. Nah, Planescape is too wordy.
  23. I wholeheartedly believe that the Wolverine movies (that includes the X men movies) were made out of Bryan Singers attempt to woo Hugh Jackman.
  24. I think that may be the point since Oby's other thread about Jewish blood rituals got shut down in a jiff.
  25. People really love this game.
