  1. Yeah, In reality you would die without water in less than a week, depending on climate. 2 days at most. But this isn't the first case I heard of this, even though is the first time I hear of the science community actually researching on this. The results should be quite interesting, or quite irrelevant.
  2. Ain't that just some fan made render? I hope Bioware is bit more creative with alien models then human with bad skin. If they decide to reveal how a quarian looks like. Lot a things that could go wrong, from not being alien enough to being ugly. Plus BW listens to it's fans which in this case means more human looking alien.
  3. Nah, all of this started because IW wanted to work on a new IP and not on MW2. I get the feeling that Bungie will bend over more. Funny thing is that IW guys left the MoH group for the exact same reason. They have a history of abusive relationships with publishers But is not like they were wrong to want to work on a new IP, perhaps they didn't expressed their discomfort properly (they bitched and moaned about it) but Acti didn't come out as the bigger man either. They basically took this incident and decided to cut West and Zamp out to have a more docile IW, well I guess now the joke is on them since this legal battle has cost them the rest of the team.
  4. Agreed. Fortunately, your bourgeois democracy somehow manages to do both. I wonder how? *whistles absent-mindedly* Just out of curiosity, where do you live? Not in the States certainly. Right?

  6. Why? Just Cause. Cut him some slack, after all Just Cause was fodder for comedy. I can only imagine the poor folks who bought that game.
  7. I guess he couldn't handle the guilt. and now they have Bungie under their thump. Should go well together, considering that Bungie only releases Halo games and a bunch of spin offs.
  8. I plan to play as throughly as possible, the same way one plays with a thousand dollar hooker: all night long. Because she is worth it.
  9. He thinks communism made mistakes?!
  10. But just in case I'm going to cherish all of your posts as if they were your last
  11. Yeah it may be funny, but in my case is the self-conscious kind of funny. Where in the back of my mind i'm going: "this is really sad". @Kirottu: Dolls make anything funny.
  12. It's definitely fun, I'll say that! Any movie that has inspired over a 100 sequels is automatically cinema gold.
  13. Basically websites will be block for alleged copyright infringement families will be disconnected from the internet if accused of sharing copyrighted files and have to pay for an appeal out of their own pocket. Here is all the details: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/digital-economy-bill
  14. Besides LoF, who else here is a Stalinist?
  15. Actually you can get to play on an emulator. Just look for PCSX2 download, look for the game download and enjoy. I'm already playing Way of the Samurai 2.
  16. I know that humor is a coping mechanism and that nothing is too sacred for comedy. But somethings aren't funny, terrorism amongst them. Like the crow with the bomb though.
  17. True, but they are the best with this technology. I just don't wouldn't like to buy an Ipod, Iphone or Ipad that comes with strings attached.
  18. They're Swedes, what are they going to do? Be neutral and clean us to death
  19. Because they are qualified as anyone else they shouldn't meddle. They are not aggressive with their whole morality but like in this case there are often conflicts within ethics. A person fighting for the high moral ground has no power whatsoever, but when a company does it the consumer is summited to their moral reasoning within every product they buy or own. My concern is that this censorship will go beyond pornography and into other, more important subjects. I mean, even search engines are biased why not Apple?
  20. http://www.newsweek.com/id/236096 Will attempt to respond more fully later. I had not looked at it in those terms [priests abuse at the same rate as the population as a whole]. I'd be hypocritical if I did, since I've argued many times that incidents of violent abuse in the Army are not higher than those in the general population. So, I concede the point. However, this is not just about incidents of abuse, it is about the way the Church has handled abusers. Specifically it has concealed their crimes both actively and passively, to a degree which suggests an institutional policy. That is, in the technical vernacular, totally ****ing mental. It's what everyone does, though. Basically, everyone reasons that concealment and denial is the best policy until they get caught. There was a paedophilia case here in Portugal involving a charity organization where it was basically the same deal. Only over 20 years after the fact did the victims come forward. Although, in the case you present it may have been because the victims were ashamed to come forward. Did they were prosecuted? Where there allegations during the years before the declaration?
  21. But morality isn't cut clear on most things, which is why people argue for porn since they don't see it as immoral. There is a wide array of what most normal people would call moral and not one view is more valid than the other. They have a right to control their product yes, but not to impose their morality on the world. So the whole "morality police" aspect of the declaration is what bothers me. First of all they are not a qualified entity to decide what should and should not be censored; present case excluded since it was pornographic material. If this is a progressive symptom of a moral clean up, then I think I may buy an Android. They should just release the Imoral and focus on their next product.
  22. You know, I don't like censorship because I lived in a dictatorship where ideology was kept under constant watch and dissents was close to social death or literal. So i'm a little biased on the subject, but now that you bring up: Why is that censorship is bad? I mean there are things that should be censored. In one sentence I believe that they have a right to control what goes through the app store and they have a vision of what they want the Iphone to be, but to go as far as "making a moral stance". What people do or don't is none of Apple's business and they should focus on their actual business.
  23. I agree with you, that is part of what creates the unique environment that sets the Witcher's storytelling apart from all the "Hollywood-esque" games that play to stereotypes and known formulas. But there are moments when the story demands some emotion, E.G: romancing Trish/Shani. Even the dialog choices that actually do emotion; like laughter, sound the same as every other word that comes out Geralt's mouth. Is like hearing HAL go through the script. They don't need to go overboard and do a tearjerker moment, just do the emotions as they fit the situation.
