I think that they had that in mind before DA2, Witchhunt was quite a bit of foreshadowing to this end.

A school project now has me reviving my love for Massive Attack and this video in particular.

I assume you are referring to the enforced pederasty? Actually it was a chaste relationship, attractions was considered as incest and abominable. But maybe Monte was referring to the military school to which all boys were sent to at age 7, why did pederasty came to your head first?

Look at the textures of the populated NPCs and do a few close ups to a few enemies. I went and installed the game from one of my buddies disc and so far i'm not completely disappointed. It's a BW game through and through, that potential for greatness that could change the industry executed through the mentality of a 12 years boy. The departure from Ferelden it's quite refreshing, being on a city and plenty of foreshadowing future conflicts( too much if you ask me) in this regard being in the middle of it and see it develop makes the world seem more reactive. There are those great moments where you can see C&C playing out perfectly and just draws you in. The Dialog wheel still facing problems with it's transitions, I've only seen very little of the supposed reaction that voice would have depending on the choices that you have "stacked". Plenty of fanservice, apparently the only two people safe from Hawke's libido are Varric and his/her family (and that's only until the mods start to come out). The character models are very high end as are the backgrounds (as they should be since it's obvious they spent a lot resources in them) The camera is horrible, it's either so close the character that you can't see what's going one or not far enough to get a full picture of the battlefield. The cloned environment are a tedium to traverse, specially after the 50 sidequests in Kirkwall. Warriors and Rogues trees were well done, don't like the dumbed down mages. So far it's like any other BW game, mayhap a little less fun.

This system is erroneous to a fault, never mind the small scale the whole social aspect and lack of curriculum will seriously cripple their emotional growth. Educationally it works because it's a hands on approach to subjects, instead of theory in a blackboard children learn practical applications. Problems is the whole democratic curriculum, even if the kid knew what he wanted at the moment and was properly motivated to learn (not something that all children are) his mind may change after growing old or he may find that he spent his childhood learning nonsense and now has no basics to fall back on. Aside from that a cloistered life like that won't help him operate in a social environment, while many would agree that it gives the child values and respect for the rules it does nothing for when he moves to the outside world. We operate in basic human drives, is the Id that drives us forwards towards achieving while the Superego reins us setting the boundaries of what's is acceptable. I doubt that there will be much of an Id in kids whose whole lives have been dedicated towards learning.

Many years ago I read and studied the documents relating to the enquiry into Chernobyl. A lot of the problem caused by the initial accident was due to shoddy construction. Particularly badly made concrete foundations. Irregularities in the concrete aided the escape of the material when it might otherwise have stayed contained. I know I'm being horribly racist, but one assumes that a Japanese reactor wouldn't be made with bloody awful construction standards. So, fingers crossed we can hope for the best here. I wouldn't say racist, since there are certain idiosyncratic to them. Namely their knack for technology and the intensity with which they undertake their task, compared to a badly built factory in the middle of Russia I would say that they have a bigger chance. Still I don't know enough to be completely sure that the worse won't happen.

Frankly.... I don't get what all the bad rep is about. Bashing DA2 seems to have become some sort of internet phenomena. Obviously, the game has it's problems, and I'm sure more will pop out when people look at the game files closer. But the difference to DA:O isn't that big, and there's lots of good stuff in the game. Critique is due, but the overall quality isn't bad enough to bash it to the ground. It's definitely a Bioware-quality game (whatever that means to you). If one didn't dislike DA:O, I see no reason not to buy DA2. DA:O had it's share of problems, none of which were solved in DA2. They just took the game in a different direction than what I would had like to see which is an honest to god true WRPG. Aside from the name and some common elements I don't see much of a resemblance between the 2 games, specially in the visuals department, gameplay-wise, the dialog wheel, it's 2 completely different games. I had hoped that DA2 would had embraced the things that made 1 great, instead of fixing the issues with one they threw everything out of the window. @Enterix: JE>DA2

Yeah heard about the news yesterday before I went to bed. 8.8 on the Richter scale, big mess.

A sexy psychiatrist? At least that way you're not being morally reprehensible, since it's a win either way for your friend. BTW, thanks for the applause, gentlemen. I consider you to have paid off the loon's debt for him. EDIT: if budget is an issue I suppose logically you could send him to an extremely wise hooker. I know of one, she is a perky blonde with the most appealing personality that you can imagine. And her ass isn't all that bad either.

They are going down a dark path.

and then the eastern bunny says: "I'm too old for this ****"

But then the programmers would actually had to work on the AI.

I love that game! shame about the lv 60 dragon transformation, why does it take so long to lv up. I don't know anything about level 60 Dragon transformation, lol. I'm still level 18/19/17/16. I guess the slow levelling up is just to make the player spend even more time with the game. I think all games in the series are like this. Slow paced and long time to level your characters. Luckily, I managed to find a spot on the world map with random metal slime encounters and I got some great exp when I actually managed to kill them(bastards tend to flee half the time). I enjoy the game because of the overall mood(soundtrack and world design). It's just the slow pace and the inability to save anywhere that annoys me. Even save points in dungeons would have been good. But other than that, I'm liking it. Visitied the shadow realm for the first time to help the mourning king of Ascantha and I'm now at Pickham, Yangus' hometown. Going to fight outside of town and try to experiment with different alchemy recipes. I just love the old school JRPG feel and the cel shading. I actually didn't know about the Dragon thing until after I beat the game a few times, that's why I felt like mentioning it. I didn't achieve the transformation until playing the game on an emulator with a tweaked exp gain. Also you should pick a walkthrough for the alchemy recipes, It won't ruin your game and help you immensely in terms of what to buy and sell beforehand. Today I tried the Bullestorm demo and feel that Bulletcrap is a more appropriate moniker. Currently doing a Drakensang RoT playthrough.

The ending of AsCreed 2 is pretty weak, but i'm going to disagree with you regarding AC. It was pretty innovative experience right off the bat, just think of how many games offer you the chance to run around Jerusalem during the crusades. AC had it's faults; mainly the repetitive nature of the progression and AC2 had them too to an extent, but I wouldn't put it off as garbage. If you can deal with large moments of lethargy when going from point A to B, and don't mind it then you won't have a problem with either Uncharted or AC. That said I did like AC better than Uncharted, mainly because of the combat system which is another of the high points.

Don't sweat it. Mums just do that sort of thing occasionally. Lord knows why, but I swear they enjoy it. Yes. And no reason to worry about them being right, they'll be nagging at you no matter how well you are doing. You can always look at the silver lining though. All that nagging will prepare you for when you are married. Which begs the question: A wife who constantly nags vs A wife who doesn't care. Which is worse? An ugly wife that constantly nags and doesn't care.

I think that it came from a lack of people that would stand up against Steven Spielberg. Did you know that he actually intended to make the Temple of Doom be like some sort of Land of the Lost, dinosaurs included and everything. Problem is that when you reach legendary status is harder to get people that disagree with you. My hope is that since Blade Runner was a cult classic (at least in the US) they will realize that it's not a mass appeal film and think that they will lose money. But then again they seem to shot for a sure thing despite evidence to the contrary, they seem to believe that the fans will flock to the theaters despite this being a corruption of the original. Not that they don't have a reason to think otherwise.

Can't, we need to post our borderline homosexual crushes.

Yeah, I don't particularly care for codifying my gaming experience. Then I'd have to be objective instead of just (subjectively) enjoy whatever I'm doing. Which pretty much describes what I do for a living now, so no, thanks. You must be getting us confused with the BioBoards. I loved DA:O art direction, I don't particularly see why the need to be original when something works. Plus is not like DA2 visuals are that original. I second the motion of him doing a Let's Play For the Lulz

Wait, aren't the troops there to give safe passage to foreign nationals out of the country; what is all this talk about alliances with the rebels?

Speaking of which, they are showing a marathon of all the Indiana Jones movies on USA because they're featuring the network premiere of the Crystal Skull. A movie that should tell you that sacred in Hollywood just gets in the way of making money.
