Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry for PC
mkreku replied to karka's topic in Computer and Console
Besides: Nintendo are dominating a market. The handheld one. They're raking in cash by the boatload off of the Nintendo DS. Hell, even I can actually imagine buying one, once the new DS Lite comes out, if it looks good. The original was just too damn uglee to own. -
Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry for PC
mkreku replied to karka's topic in Computer and Console
I can imagine Resident Evil 4 becoming too easy with mouse controls. But other than that it's a great idea! Let's hope they've saved the high resolutiuon textures fromwhen they made the game. Usually when a game is converted from Gamecube/Playstation 2 to PC, the textures look really washed out and.. dull. -

He's slowly walking away from a werewolf? -
Did you get Resident Evil 4? If so, what did you think about it?

So.. tell me what I can do to make my Firefox crash 4-5 times per day!

You write that jetlag is having to adapt to a different timezone.. and the difference between that and having to change from a dayjob to a graveyard shift is..? Nevermind, look up "night shift research" or something similar on google, and you'll find out how humans are constructed. This discussion is off topic, totally pointless (with arguments like, "I work nightshift and I am fine and therefore you are wrong") and boring anyhow.
-
So basically IE7 is just a carbon copy of Firefox 1.5 then..?
-
You guys need to travel more. When you've experienced jetlag you might understand that it's not as easy as "go to bed early, get up early". Of course you can change your sleep cycle, that's not what this argument is about. Our bodies were designed for maximum effect during daylight and rest during nighttime. It has to do with hormones and metabolism, and that you can't change as easily as changing your daily/nightly routines. It's not difficult to work graveyard shifts. Most people get used to it after a few days. Still doesn't change the fact that (for example) stress related diseases are much more common among those who've worked those shifts for several years.

As far as I know, World of Warcraft hasn't had any expansion packs or booster packs (whatever they are) that you had to pay for yet. Every patch and content upgrade (and there have been lots of them) have so far been free. Of course, Blizzard has like.. 5 million paying customers so I guess they can afford to produce content for free.

World of Warcraft took me two weeks to go from level 1 to level 60 (level cap). Another month after that and I had a full set of blue items (rare items) and one purple (epic items). Yet another month and I had maxxed out all my skills (like fishing, mining, smithing etc.) and that's despite not playing much at all. The last two weeks before I quit, my guild crumbled and my epic mount quest stalled (I had to kill some guy in a high level instance), so I never got the epic mount.. It's very easy to level in World of Warcraft. The difficulty lies in PvP and item hoarding.

Isn't this common knowledge though? "Give a man a fish and he'll survive the day. Teach him how to fish and he'll survive a lifetime" ...or something like that.

Actually, swedish press reported yesterday that the islam fundamentalist groups have retracted their threats against Sweden, saying it was a mistake to threaten us. I really hope some swedish newspaper is brave enough to print those pictures as well.

Having bad sleeping habits (ie. being a computer nerd) does not mean you're a night person. Very few humans are nocturnal. I couldn't find my link either, but it is scientifically proven that those who work on night jobs get more heart diseases, they gain more weight (metabolism slows down) and they are more prone to serious injuries (because we're not nocturnal, we make more and more serious mistakes at night). I used to work at a newspaper printing facility, where I often worked 10 hour shifts all the night. It was our union that made sure we knew the risks involved in working nights. That way we could demand more pay

It was quite common for old RPG's to force you to eat. Evolution later decided that eating in a game != fun, so most RPG's removed that little feature. I remember a game called Bloodwych that forced you to eat also.. But I very rarely played any console games before 2001 or so.
-
No, Ultima had forced the stupid "eat food, you bastard!" on you all the way from the start. I clearly remember buying 9999 food in Ultima IV, just to be able to forget about it for the rest of the game. Edit: Typo.

I will ignore tonite's results and go to bed happy, knowing that Peter Forsberg will play for Sweden in the Olympics.

Unless you're psychic, you got to lay off the weed. The Leafs are leading the Lightning 2 - 1. Anyhow, am I imagining things or has the amount of groin pulls and strains gone up by like a thousand percent since last season? The hockey infirmaries are full of damaged groins from every team! Is it because of the faster style of hockey? Or am I just imagining it all..?

Ray Liotta was good.. But James Woods was great!!1 Go San Andreas and Mike Toreno!
-
I loved the new difficulty
-
Vice City was probably the best of them so far, storywise. My favourite is San Andreas though, as you can swim, customize your character (Notorious BIG lives again!!) travel seamlessly between three major cities and find as many mini games and special features that you can count. One of the best games I've ever played, regardless of platform.

Gothic is one hell of a game, but I'm afraid it might not have aged too well. It also has a weird control scheme that many people have problems getting used to. I can highly recommend Gothic 2 Gold though. It contains the original game and the (extremely good) expansion in one pack. Great value for money. I have logged 80+ hours so far in Gothic 2 Gold (playing it right now) and I'm on the final island (probably 1-3 hours left of the game) so don't expect a Jade Empire stroll. If you're easily frustrated by difficult games, then Gothic 2 Gold might not be for you. There's no hand-holding, no safety ropes and no mercy shown in this game. You'll get beat up by farmers, by farmer's wives and by every odd creature that comes your way. But if you'll persevere you'll grow up to be an orc slayer that can single handedly take down a dragon. Great stuff! Oh, and Gothic 2 Gold has pirates! Yarr! ) Edit: Doh! Gee, thanks, Berserk, for making my post look like a copycat clone! :D

Yes, of course. I also asked about the size of the inevitable elf boobies and if soil erosion would be a part of the main quest.

I only asked six questions, mostly about technical aspects and game engine improvements. I figured they'd be most likely to answer such questions, as opposed to in game content and story questions.
