I've noticed they can get stuck when you choose a 'path less taken' (ie. you fall down a cliff). Usually a teleport solves it, unless they have left your party (happens when you use the parrot spell), in which case you have to go back and get them. I've plowed 30 hours into this game now, and I still haven't visited Calador and two other smaller islands yet, and I have not chosen a faction to join. I'm on Kila and I must admit I'm having a blast. It's still not as open and free as Gothic 3 was, but it's a great step forwards. Just the 'simple' addition of swimming and a kind of climbing system that resembles the one seen in Gothic/Gothic 2 has made the game so much more enjoyable for me. Exploration is really exploration now. And since this is a Piranha Bytes game, exploration always feels satisfying and rewarding. Also, I love that I'm not sure which quests are main quests and which are side quests. To me, that's a sign that the side quests are well written and implemented. Technically it's excellent. I've had one crash and that's it. No stuttering, no stuck quests, no weird behaviour, no pop-in and the game runs smooth as silk on my (slightly overpowered for this type of game) Radeon R9 290X. I also happen to think it's a gorgeous game, but I'm not one of you gaming hipsters who have to whine about how everything looks like **** (who the **** cares if the headlights on cars in Watch Dogs don't cast shadows?!). It doesn't have the latest effects, some textures are low res, hair looks like plastic and so on. But stuff moves in the wind, the water looks fantastic, enemies react as they should in combat, vegetation react as you walk through it, lots of little details that make the world lived in everywhere. Stuff like that impresses me much more than perfect skin shaders. It's a game that looks much better in motion than in pictures. It's been a long time since I've played a game that makes me not want to go to bed at night.

I can't really talk about it since I already have a reputation as a Piranha Bytes fanboi of the worst degree. (I love it though)

6 inches you say? Well, there's already something out there for you, ridiculously overpowered and extravagant: http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/lenovo-vibe-z2-pro-with-6-inch-qhd-display-snapdragon-801-launched-571467

After having wrestled with a crashing Risen 3 almost all day (with several hungover pauses), I finally found out that Risen 3 does not play well with more than 10 CPU cores. When I disabled a few of my cores, the game suddenly started. Oh well. The initial impressions are very good. It's a little bit annoying that they've made it so much easier in the beginning, but I can understand their reasons for doing it and I can tolerate it. Other than that it's a classic Gothic/Risen game. You explore a beautiful land, pick up everything that's not nailed to the floor and beat the crap out of the local wildlife.

It's time!! (if I just weren't so hungover..)

Is your wife single? I love her already.

You keep saying this. Can you give me an example when feminists have advocated for a better life for men? In Sweden, three times as many men commit suicide than women. In Sweden, twice as many women graduate from a higher education compared to men (approximately, I forgot the exact number, but you get the picture). In Sweden, women gets much better grades in school than men. In Sweden, a man is four times more likely to be physically abused than a woman. In Sweden, three times more men are murdered each year than women. These facts are pretty much the same throughout every country in the western world, although the numbers vary slightly. How many times have you heard a feminist mention any of these things? At least in Sweden, feminists work to end violence against women (as an example). Specifically women, even though this problem is much, much bigger among men. Why is that if equality is what they seek?

www.aliexpress.com It's cheaper now since I pre-ordered mine.

I left it on my bed in the morning. Got back home right now. The battery meter says 97% left and 11:29 since last charge. This thing has ridiculous stamina! I LOVE IT Although I must say (wrong thread, I know) that I will never understand the love Baldur's Gate gets. It's sooo mind-numbingly slow! And controlling the party is like trying to herd a gang of blind retards through a narrow doorway EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I can't believe people put up with that **** for so many years!

This discussion makes me happy. It should make it quite clear to everyone the amount of truckloads of salt you should take Mr Survival Bayonet's advice with.

I have no clue why everyone keeps saying that. They use the same screen, but that's it. (iPad screen is made by LG, Mi Pad is made by Sharp)

I recently bought a Mi Pad. It's awesome. It's a Tegra K1 device (the world's first pad with Tegra K1) and my pad scores 42000 Antutu points. Which is phenomenal. 2GB ram, 64GB eMMC, Micro-SD memory slot (I have a 64 GB card, so 128 GB altogether), IPS screen with 2048x1536 resolution, 6700 mAh battery. It's the same size as an iPad Mini but performance is better. It also has surprising stamina. I've been using it for hours on end, playing Baldur's Gate and watching movies and it just keeps going. Well worth the $385 I paid for it (including freight and ****ing toll).

In what order will you play the upcoming 3 rpgs

Risen 3 releases in 4 days.. -
I didn't pre-order it. I've become wary after pre-ordering Gothic 3 back in the day and waiting 6 months before even opening the game box. I also didn't like Risen 2 very much. But I know I'll be buying it anyhow. I'm stupid that way.

Swimming is back so I'm interested again. Also saw some gameplay videos that looked good, very much like Risen/Gothic. It helps that I'm starving for this type of game..

I love JCVD!!

I bought a Mi Pad and have been trying to finally play Baldur's Gate on it, but I fall asleep every time. Maybe my brain needs 3D nowadays..

I'm hoping their next project is 3D and not more of this 2D nonsense. Fallout: New Vegas showed what Obsidian can do. I want more of that. Personally I would love a more Stalker:ish setting. Best atmosphere of any game ever.

Game looks great, but...
mkreku replied to Zwiebelchen's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
The biggest problem for me is that the backgrounds are so dead. Walk over grass, nothing happens. Walk through bushes, nothing happens. It's like watching a movie on top of static cartoon backgrounds.
