Woohoo, another humiliating loss to the Alfie! How many left this season? 5? OK THEN!

The Witcher
I'm buying The Witcher today. And I'm so ****ing glad I don't live in the "land of the free".

Yeah, I'm actually a bit interested in this troubled kid. He could add some much needed energy and grit and a little scoring punch, if he manages to live up to his potential.. Frustratingly enough, it seems that every "potentially" good player we get never lives up to that potential in a Leafs jersey, but almost always a year after leaving the team. Anyhow, Bell is big and strong so I'm sure he'll make some kind of impact at least.

Upcoming Hardware
Yea, me too. I went from a Nvidia Geforce Ti4600 to a ATI Radeon 9800PRO (best card EVER!) to a Geforce 7800GS to my current ATI Radeon 1950XTX. It's time for me to upgrade but I can't figure out which card to buy. ATI has nothing on the market that fits me right now and after the 7800 debacle I am very reluctant to switch back to Nvidia and their horribly broken drivers. But the 8800GT looks so fiiiine!

Upcoming Hardware
Speaking of upcoming hardware, not sure if this is true, but.. Diamond pulled the page and claim it "leaked": http://img502.imageshack.us/my.php?image=d...d3850pageq5.jpg As usual, ATI looks good on paper.. probably plays like **** in real life. I'm still waiting with a glimmer of hope though.

Thank you, Oilers, for making my Leafs seem a little less crappy.

The Witcher
I'll probably break down and buy The Witcher tomorrow. I have nothing to play.

Halloween Obsidian Style!
Love the fact that Annie Carlson (whoever that is) is holding a pack of Singoalla cookies. Those are Swedish cookies and she probably bought them at an IKEA!

Upcoming Hardware
The only help you can get from this thread is for your PSU and case. By march we'll be discussing the ATI 3X00 series and Nvidia's 9X00 series.. and we've probably all upgraded to motherboards with DDR3 too. Who knows what kind of CPU's are available at that time. I'm hoping AMD has made a huge comeback.. as well as ATI. But I very much doubt it.

And my Leafs keep mixing really bad games with really good games.. with no logic whatsoever behind them. Sometimes they make me think they have what it takes to make the play-offs.. and then they have a few games so bad it makes me think I want to give up hockey altogether. Impressive win last night at least.

The PSU is enough assuming it's not some no-name piece of crap that doesn't deliver what it promises to do. I have no idea if you'll be bottlenecked by your CPU. It wouldn't surprise me though.

What are you playing now?
I just finished Puzzle Quest. I have no idea what to play now. Maybe I should finish Gothic 3?

What are you playing now?
Yes, because the market is flooded with pretty DirectX 10 games right now.. No wait, it isn't. It must be because Vista is much faster than XP! No wait, it isn't. Must be the stability and abundance of fresh drivers on Vista then! No wait. That's not right. So.. Exactly why is Vista "the gaming OS" now?

I remember the discussions on the hf boards when Detroit resigned Zetterberg to some contract worth 3+ million per year.. "Oh, he's not worth that much. How much has he scored? 58 points? Totally overpaid!!". I'm guessing they're silent now.

The Witcher
Seriously, didn't anyone buy it yet? Do I have to download it ILLEGALLY or something to be able to find out if it's good or not?! Don't make a criminal out of me, buy the damn game!

E6850, E6750 or Q6600
I am not aware of any DDR2 RAM that goes above some 1200 MHz though, so unless you spent a fortune on getting a DDR3 compliant motherboard and RAM, those extra MHz are kind of wasted. I've got a Q6600 and some 1066 MHz DDR2 ram, but with my Abit motherboard it's easy to overclock it to 1120 MHz and probably more if I tweak it more seriously. Still.. I have not seen ANY use for four cores yet. Feels like a waste so far. The only thing I notice is that my CPU temperature is a constant 15-20 degrees Celsius above my old E6600 @3200 MHz even though it's clocked lower.

I finally finished the Crysis demo, after spending an eternity driving my jeep around and shooting down every tree on the island. Great fun. I'll be getting this when it's released. Very polished demo by the way. Almost no glitches and ran smooth as silk on medium settings and 1024x768 (plus some high physics and textures and stuff).

E6850, E6750 or Q6600
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558...2129TX1K0000532 Apparently not even Crysis benefits from having four cores. I'm beginning to wonder if these multi-core CPU's aren't just a big scam to inflate prices..

I'd kill to have Zetterberg too. He's getting better..

Favorite Horror Movies
I'm trying to remember the horror movies we rented on VHS as kids. The one that stands out as the most scary was a really unknown flick called The Nesting from 1981. I wouldn't recommend it (since it's been probably over 20 years since I last saw it) but I remember that it scared the living crap out of me. Other scary movies: The Others Sixth Sense The scene with the two dead girls puking on the boy in Fanny och Alexander.. As much as I love Alien (and Aliens!) I can't remember being scared while watching it.

Ironic: 8800GT + Neverwinter Nights 2 in the same purchase!
