Fallout 4 is coming soon.. is there a new OB Fallout Scheduled?
mkreku replied to dava4444's topic in Computer and Console
I never use companions and I basically spend 99% of my time on my knees (uh.. in the non-sexual sneaking way). It works very well, although even with silenced weapons you will sometimes alert an entire city block for some reason. I'm guessing the game would be pretty dull if it never happened so they made some areas more sensitive to disturbances. There is even a perk that gives you bonuses for going at it solo, so it is definitely a viable choice. -
Sorry, The Witcher 3, I promise I will get back to you after my obligatory 200-300 hours of Fallout 4. I'm sorry I didn't finish you before November 11.

Haha, I came in to post the exact same mod! I will install it immediately when I get home and I NEVER use mods before finishing the regular game, usually. I looks lovely (Sneaking in my link about it: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-11-18-brilliant-fallout-4-mod-shows-you-what-your-character-will-say-in-dialogue ) -

Thanks for picking up that fat bastard from us! -
I'm completely addicted to Fallout 4. I'm having so much fun just roaming through the Wasteland, I'm not sure I do any quests at all. This gameworld must be the best I've ever seen. Not only is it massive (as in big), there's so much to see, find and do that it's almost overwhelming to me (and these are the types of games I live for!). Two of the coolest places I've visited aren't even marked on the map! Got to love the confidence of Bethesda's world builders: when you know you have so much stuff in your game that you can hide two fantastic places like this with the knowledge that most people probably won't even find them! Almost every place you look has something special or something to find. Almost every location tells a story, not merely by word, but by incidental detail (something I believe Bethesda are masters at). Just little details that make exploring so rewarding and fun. The only ones who are equally good at this are Piranha Bytes. I went by the coast last night and swam out to a half-sunken fishing boat. At the tail end (the part sticking up out of the water) there was only a suitcase, a teddy bear and something I forgot. But the things were placed in such a way I couldn't help wonder what happened to the little family. Love stuff like that even though I got no xp, no equipment or anything. It just shows that Bethesda knew someone would take the time to swim out there and explore. I'm also addicted to modifying my weapons. I looove finding the legendary enemies (even though I ran into a Legendary Alpha Deathclaw yesterday.. it did not end well)! Turns out you can modify even the star-marked weapons that sometimes drop off the legendary enemies. So now the hunt is on to find my favourite weapons with some cool legendary stats. Yeah, it may be a bit MMO-ish, but I love it. I did kill a normal Deathclaw yesterday at least. My first. Yay.

I prefer the Sony myself (like the design and *waterproof!*), but I have to warn you: Sony's software does not have a spotless reputation. Of course, neither does Samsung's version of Android, but Sony seems to be slightly worse in that regard.

Well, there aren't any really cool tablets out right now, so.. Since the Snapdragon 810 (a system on chip, SoC) overheated like a mofo, things have been slow. No new SoC's, nothing really exciting. I had high hopes for the successor to the Tegra K1 that I own (still think it's a fantastic piece of gear), the Tegra X1, but that seems to have basically vanished. Right now I would probably recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 or the Sony Xperia Tab Z4. The Samsung has a really good AMOLED screen while the Sony is waterproof. Both are extremely fast and can play any game you throw at them.

I was something like level 16 and went exploring in the south. This guy handed my ass to me on a platter.

Fallout 4 is coming soon.. is there a new OB Fallout Scheduled?

Today I tried playing with the PIP-boy app on my tablet. It was great! I can see my little dot walk around the map on my tablet in real time as I move about in the game on the PC. Such a little feature, but so cool (and useful!) for me. I wasn't expecting much from the app, but it actually enhances the game for me. -

I agree with almost all of the above. Although I would say that the gunplay reminds me of the Stalker games a little. Not sure why I get that feeling, but I like it. -
Hey, Lexx, could you please explain to us how bad Fallout 4 is again? I didn't quite catch it in your first 200 whiny-ass posts. If you could add how much you're not gonna play it, that would be great!

I own a 8 dollar keyboard I bought maybe 5-7 years ago. I bought it because it has two USB ports on the sides and it's very low (I don't like to angle my wrists upwards like most keyboard want me to, I'm a flat typist). This poor keyboard has been through hell. I've spilled things on it, I've played Battlefield 2-4 on it (I suck and all my nerd rage goes into the keyboard), I've bashed it, beaten it, manhandled it, you name it. The poor keyboard has lost keys from time to time, but they've always been possible to reattach. It has split in two (the upper part got unstuck from the lower part), but that was also possible to fix with some tender bashing. Most of the keys have lost their print so it almost looks like one of those naked keyboards. The foldable feet that used to live underneath it are long gone (probably from the first beating it took). But it still lives! I'm super impressed by its durability. It's the keyboard that wouldn't die. Oh, and it's as far from mechanical as you can get: it uses some sort of rubber bubbles to register key presses. When (if?) it dies, I will buy another one exactly like it.

I love the unique enemies! I found a unique molerat and was caught completely off guard. It turned an annoyance into a real fight as a molerat usually takes one hit to dispose of and this molerat ate almost all my 10mm reserves. I also got a sweet named weapon from his battered corpse. A great addition, but I'm sure the usual choir of negativity will sound off about this. "Fallout is dead!!", "Fallout in name only!!", "Fallout should not have changed a single thing from when I was a child because I'm too stupid to realize both me and the world has changed since then but I blame everything on Bethesda because reasons!!".

Ok, I played for an hour or so now. Graphics are definitely upgraded. They're not even close to The Witcher 3, but they have another type of quality. There's so much detail! Interactive detail! Not always pretty to look at, but they're great for making the world feel dynamic and alive. No bugs so far, no performance problems, controls feel excellent (especially when coming to this game straight after The Witcher 3..), crafting seems interesting, the world seems large, I've already discovered two secrets gained from reading descriptions thoroughly, the tiny bit of story I've seen has been ok. A great start! I hope it continues this way. Couldn't get the companion app to work yet though, but I think my firewall might have blocked it. -

I bought it on my lunch break, went home and installed, created my monster (world's first nuclear hipster!) and only just started moving before I had to go back to work. Urge to play increasing! I haven't been out in the world yet, but so far it runs great on my 290X. It automatically chose Ultra settings on everything too. -

I just realized my internet connection has outrun my DVD-reader: It's faster for me to download things than install from disk. What a time to be alive.. -

Only before patches. Now the Witcher 3 runs better on PS4 as well. -
Yes, let's go back to the time when they made isometric Fallout's.. and sold in the hundreds of thousands (like PoE). I'm sure that will happen. Who needs millions of sales anyway?

By the way, it's easy to forget that Fallout 3 came out in 2008. That's 7 years ago (crap, I'm old)! Things DID change: -
I'm actually surprised by how bland Fallout 4 looks judging from the screenshots so far (I found a site where they show off Fallout 4 with ultra settings on). I remember when Oblivion was announced and how it blew everything else out of the water at the time. I also thought Skyrim was a looker. The first thing that strikes me when I see the Fallout 4 screenshots is how flat everything looks: I don't care, but it is a surprise. I guess The Witcher 3 spoiled me. Anyhow, 4 days left. I haven't pre-ordered or anything, but I would lie if I said the hype wasn't getting to me.

Yeah, that's about as far as I got before my BS meter went full blast. Thanks for invalidating your post early on so I didn't have to read it all! -

Well, even though I think Fallout: New Vegas is one of the best games I've played in the last ten years I'm not sure giving Obsidian another chance at a spin-off is the right way to go for Bethesda. Obsidian has never really impressed me with their world building in any of their games (playing Dungeon Siege 3 right now so I've basically played all their games except Pillars). Obsidian can do writing, sure. But a game is so much more than competent writing. Also, to be honest, I've been more impressed by the writing in Witcher 3 than in any other game I've played in a very long time.. I used to hope for a Fallout 4: New New Vegas, but I'm not so sure anymore.
