He'd look far better if he wasn't in that stupid bear hug pose, I quite like some of the things I'm seeing in DA2 but the news that we're losing strategic cam is a bit of a kick, it suggests to me that strategy isn't going to be so prominent this time around, I'd been ignoring the comments that this is Dragon Effect 2 but it really is looking that way, shame. If they can improve on Dragon Age's story (characters were pretty cool but the overarching plot was meh) whilst not totally nerfing the strategy aspect I'll buy it, reserving judgement for now.

I'm actually finding the graphics in these previews to be reassuringly shoddy for a modern game, jagged edges and stilted animations (apart from the takedowns, they do kind of rock) all over the place, fingers crossed that just like DX1 they spent most of their time on reactivity, multiple paths and plot development. I do have a pretty good feeling about this game

The little arrows point the wrong way in multiple levels. The little arrows had me literally running in a big circle at one point, I was relieved when Darn released his UI so I could disable it, if I'm going to dash around like a muppet for half an hour I'll do it under my own steam

I was actually lying in bed last night thinking about the vastness of McCarran and a few other areas in the game, such as the inside of Hoover Dam, I get the feeling there was supposed to be more going on in these locations than ended up in the game, I don't have any issues with the layout but having to trek all the way to the end of the airport to find the supply depot is a chore, realistic, just not the best idea from a gameplay perspective.

I've been playing Call of Duty : Black Ops, or rather watching it and pressing a few buttons now and then, I'll admit it's an exhilarating game with fantastic set pieces (firing an RPG at a Russian rocket mid launch ffs) but holy hell the ultra-macho dumbf**kery and rape of history is hard to take. Apparently there's a scene where you get to torture a prisoner by ramming a shard of broken glass in his mouth, gotta wonder how many kids are playing this.

Just how badly is the RIAA going to sue him? I won't tell them if you don't

From the guy who made Galaxy News Radio - More Where That Came From, now we've got Radio New Vegas - The Secret Stash

On a random note, has anyone else wondered how those pre war planes in McCarran could have taken off without a runway?
-
Yeah but those were made by Black Isle And they weren't lacking in the bug department either...especially Fallout 2.
-
I miss the bobbleheads too, there's a few mods that put them back in though, I'm thinking I'll try this one.

I got the impression that he was rather enjoying until the crashes

I think I'll avoid any patches for a while, I hope this isn't going to be a situation similar to Fallout 3 where each new patch broke something...anyone else remember when VATS didn't have a delay or when you could target grenades in mid-air? I have to say I'm thankful that my game is stable for now, Fallout 3 drove me insane with the random crashes, seems I'm lucky this time around.

I started a new game using Arwen's Realism Tweaks mod a couple of days ago, I'm liking the higher difficulty so far, the list of changes is huge and there's an in game menu for reducing global xp gains. Arwen's NV Realism Tweaks

This was my impression, I'd been playing the Yes Man route slightly annoyed at his helping hand attitude, like the devs put him there to spell out exactly what my options were, to have him steal all the glory at the last minute in such a matter of fact way was pretty funny. Rigged from the start...
-
I found it but never went inside, I figured there was some quest that would lead me to it eventually...is there?
-
I completed the "Yes Man" route last night, it was fairly satisfying, is simultaneously annoying and hilarious. The boss battle was standard issue Fallout but with quite a few more skill check options for bypassing combat than the previous games had, my only real negative comment is that Legate Lanius really could have used more build up in the story beyond a mention on the radio and a couple of conversations in Caesar's camp. What really made me laugh was the option to throw The ending slides were pretty much perfect, exactly what I was hoping to get, though for some reason I got no info about the Brotherhood, I never fully completed their questline but I did expect to hear something. I'll be taking my time on the next run, using a slower levelling mod for sure, I left many, many things undone the first time around
-
Seems it's a standard issue Gamebryo quirk that the longer you play, the more unstable the game becomes, I've started getting more ctd's after passing the 50 hour mark but on the bright side my one and only actual bug was the old lady Gibson dialogue trigger issue with ED-E.

I'm still waiting for another game that will allow me to demand a farmer cut off his own thumb before I accept his quest...then insist he saute it.

New Vegas sometimes feels like a loveletter to modders and forum dwellers, I remember being glad when I heard Oscuro was working on it, it's uplifting to know that a game with so many old school elements is a number one seller these days.

I sniped a lone Deathclaw Young outside the entrance to the quarry last night, as I started to snipe at the ones inside both the matron and alpha male Deathclaws ripped me a new one from behind...I wondered if it was a scripted event but I couldn't repeat it, they certainly didn't come from inside the quarry.

I cleared out McCarran with the Trail Carbine at level 21 last night, it was your typical *BOOM* headshot *BOOM* headshot scenario, good fun I'm also enjoying the standard Sniper Rifle, I can finally take on Deathclaws...at a distance, those Cazadors are vicious though, fast and utterly deadly in a swarm.

I've still got my sturdy caravan shotgun at level 20 * edit, Existence 2.0 has been ported, joy http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35330 *

I found You already did, completed it when he joined you. The whole "bring me someone to shoot" thing I wonder if we'll ever see a Follout game with the good old pip-boy map and random encounters. somehow I don't think Bethesda will come up with a good new engine for TES5. I'd rather see Obsidian work on Fallout 4 using the Unreal engine There is one more Boone quest you can take after you build up some trust at certain points in the gameworld, also, I'm missing random encounters too, Fallout 3 actually had a ****load, not so many here but oh well.

I'm still being blown away by how many quests open up in this game when you get to Vegas, it's almost too much to deal with and I haven't even been into the casinos yet. I've got to say that the strip itself is a bit of a visual let down, reminds me of VTM:Bloodlines, a bit of suspension of disbelief is required but I imagine this will lessen once I've started to pick up quests there, I'm loving the areas around Vegas though, Freeside and Westside are very well done and feel like how you'd expect a ghetto to feel. Still no bugs to speak of, just the usual Gamebryo hilarity, enemies getting stuck in walls, The King's dog getting stuck between his legs and juddering back and forth like a bestial sexbot Also, does anyone else reckon that all these walled off bits on the sides of the map are being reserved for DLC? There's a good 25-35% of emptiness out there, considering that the ending is supposedly final and we probably won't be getting a Broken Steel type DLC it makes sense.
