  1. On a side note I first heard about this game after one of the devs posted over on the codex, he made it clear they knocked it up in a year for some quick cash, looks like people are loving it, how cool is that?
  2. Ah well, hopefully it will be worth the wait then.
  3. Four hours and ten minutes left till it's downloaded...this is pretty painful for a 350MB file.
  4. Seeing how I've got three or four hours to wait as it slowly downloads I thought I'd waste time creating a thread for it here. http://www.torchlightgame.com/ Thoughts?
  5. That rhyming tree shtick was groanworthy but at least the Claudia Black character thought so too The combat in both these videos looks decent though, I find myself feeling more positive about this game as it gets closer to release...though maybe having finally put my money where my mouth is has something to do with it.
  6. If Mike Laidlaw stops talking like a shopping channel host then maybe...maybe
  7. Warden's Keep is in the downloadable CE from Game.co.uk but it's just not worth the bother.
  8. I just preordered the standard edition from Amazon, I don't like how the UK collectors edition has been handled (Game.co.uk exclusive + missing content) so meh, If I really want Warden's Keep I'll download it from one of the ****ty placeholder NPC's they're using
  9. Thank you, slug. Now I feel bad that you feel into my trap. Because I was going to say "Does this mean we can have sex now?" :'( Maybe if you were an unannounced companion in Dragon Age
  10. Lol'd at the joke at the end. Oghren doesn't do much for me, though I did burst out laughing during The Stone Prisoner video where Shale shrugs after stomping a chicken
  11. Yeah but like I said, it's a start...until recently you couldn't even find a challenging new arcade shmup, now there's loads of them.
  12. I read a preview last week and the journalist had taken note of the pc spec of his demo session, it was a dual core C2D chip running at 2.5ghz with an 8800gt graphics card, everything was cranked up (including 8x AA) and he said the game never dropped a frame. Sounds promising, I'd guess the game can be scaled down for older computers quite well. On the subject of difficulty, games with interesting ideas and hardcore difficulty are actually being released, most of them are downloadable titles on the PSN or 360 Marketplace though, it's a start
  13. From the Dragon Age forums http://daforums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html...=135&sp=120
  14. I might have to go and buy a copy of PC Gamer tomorrow...or maybe just flick through the review and then buy Retrogamer instead
  15. http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/103/1033952p1.html 9.0 from IGN for what it's worth.
  16. I'd say it should also get points for the first legitimate use of Ozzy Osbourne in a video game Here's a new hour long preview with Tim Schafer. http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/action/brutalle...--brutal-legend
  17. Bethesda's implementation of the engine for some reason works at 64hz internally, this is why you get those microstutters that bug people sensitive to vsync but luckily a guy called Skyranger made a mod that fixes it and also helps reduce general loading stutter. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8886 I've only ever tried the Oblivion version but it worked wonders
  18. Nope, it's usually the whole game Seriously though Tim Schafer deserves to make a profit from at least one of his games, I think despite the piracy this one will do it for him.
  19. I personally hate the idea, I don't have anything against DLC and I don't really get the zero day DLC fuss that's going on but I really don't want teaser NPC's in my games It's not that the idea isn't clever, it's pretty innovative but it leaves me with a distinctly MMO taste in my mouth, I enjoy the feeling I get when I load up a game I haven't played for a while and find people and things I somehow missed the first time around, it's just a personal thing I suppose but seeing DOWNLOAD NOW in the dialogue box will leave me a little bit cold.
  20. I don't think I could have stomached spending as much time with Fallout 3 as I did if it wasn't for the radio stations and the excellent mod stations like GNR Extended and CONELRAD Radio. One mod in particular shows how a radio station could incorporate quests, Existence 2.0
  21. The only thing that *really* bugs me about the DLC is this idea that when new content is available, new NPC's will appear in the world, only when you talk to them you get a snippet of quest related dialogue and the option to buy the DLC...
  22. I watched a review of that a few weeks ago, for a modern Lucasarts game it looks pretty decent, interesting HUD too. My personal wish is is for these X-Wing rumours to be a brand new game rather than a re-release, I bought a Joystick just to get back into X-Wing Alliance again just recently...I'm no where near as good at it as I used to be
  23. I thought Fallout 3's repair system was pretty decent, being able to break down guns in the same category for parts rather than being restricted to the exact same weapons would have opened it up a bit though, perhaps you could get a repair bonus using identical weapons. I like the idea of beefing up how weapon condition affects damage, It's pretty difficult to perceive much difference between most weapons at 75% and 100% condition.
  24. I enjoyed The Pitt, the moral dilemma is quite well done, if only it was as big as Point Lookout
