  1. One last look through my books before I uninstall Morrowind, still a ****ton of stuff to do in the game but I've burnt out now all the main quests are done and there's loads of other games to keep me busy till Skyrim, I doubt it'll have the same magic though, what a ride.
  2. I wasn't expecting much in the grimdark department from DA2, unlike Origins which definitely lacked grit compared to the pre-release hype
  3. I had a good three hour session when I got home today, I should be leaving for the Derp Roads soon, so far I'm still enjoying the game despite the re-used locations and minor railroading, I badly wanted to turn down the , but Bioware thought differently. It's dawning on me how much I really enjoy the combat, I like arcadey plumes of gore and loud noises so it suits me, I just find it hard to forgive the lack of wide area strategy and the use of spawning waves.
  4. I've been playing on hard and I'm finding enough of a challenge, I'm enjoying the faster combat but the camera annoys the hell out of me, if they extended it just a bit more I'd be happy but I'm constantly finding myself feeling cramped. There is definitely a fair amount of strategy to the fights, I slogged through Origins on nightmare mode and DA2 is still whipping me quite often on hard, after the first few hours I seriously doubt anyone is going to win by click spamming or repeatedly pressing A. The plot is OK so far, I like the new character designs and general vibe, I especially like those gigantic emaciated statues, meant to crush the spirits of Tevinter slaves as they arrived to Kirkwall. Ultimately Bio have dumbed the game down, not by the cataclysmic amount some people think but they did go too far, there's no doubt you're playing a ported console game, I want my strategic cam and full inventory control back
  5. Seems to me like our guys were in there stirring **** up with their bombs and fake passports, the great game continues
  6. Yeah, and I totally got owned. And there were times when I owned everybody in Quake 3 and UT....how times have changed.... The only selling point for me though is the campaign. If they screw that one up as well, I'm done with Crytek. I quit the game with a couple of nice kills but I know what you're saying, I'd just got Dual ISDN, Quake 3, UT and Counterstrike were a good release for my sadistic side, I was so damn good at those games back then
  7. I gave the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo a try last night, I'm not impressed at all, reasonable graphics, passable performance and run of the mill gameplay.
  8. It's too late at night for a coherent post, it's just that something about Bioware not bothering to put the PC textures on the actual PC disc concerns me, I just don't have all the words at 4am.
  9. I've been watching a few videos of the 360 demo, it actually looks considerably more fun with the direct controls, it's a real shame because I bet the odds of them including gamepad control in the PC version are nil, I can accept a tactically dumbed down game if there's a fun alternative but I just didn't enjoy controlling Hawk in the demo.
  10. Most of my enthusiasm for this title is sapped by the lack of a PC release, shame, hope it's a good game though.
  11. , this guy makes me want to hammer toothpicks into my ears.
  12. I dunno, the water sucked, I'm cancelling my ten pre-orders immediately
  13. I'm pretty psyched up over the trailer, it looks nice and judging by the frame rate it appears well optimised, for the 360 at least, fingers crossed they don't pull a GTAIV and release a shambolic PC version. I recommend watching the downloadable version for smoother playback, the flash video is badly encoded. http://cdn.zenimax.com/akqacms/files/tes/t...ler_UK_HD_0.mp4 *edit* Nick Brickon said on twitter: "Glad people got to finally see some Skyrim animation in this trailer. All that dragon stuff actually happens dynamically in-game." "To answer many questions at once: the Skyrim trailer was captured entirely on Xbox 360. Also, none of the draw-distance was faked." Pete Hines said on twitter: "@OutlanderDF Yes, in-game. Only things not in-game are the shots of the wall from the previous trailer. Dragon fights are pretty epic"
  14. An hour and a half left, it should go live just as I leave for the dentists...joy.
  15. I don't see much in the Dx11 shot that Dx9 couldn't do, apart from tessellated floor and they could use parallax occlusion mapping for a similar effect, strange.
  16. Large breasts and implied sex to get the Bioware boards in a froth I suppose, bad demo is bad.
  17. Well that was a ****ty demo of a possibly 'OK' game, lots of glitchy graphics and stilted scenes all cobbled together with a neutered camera, on the other hand I found myself enjoying the action but that camera...such a let down.
  18. I'm getting stuck into the expansion packs, starting with Tribunal. Almalexia's vaguely suggestive temple. The lady herself. Back to Vvardenfell to escape the claustrophobia.
  19. Sad news for him and his family if it's true, though I do wonder if this is the result of a life spent bathing in various electromagnetic fields
  20. I've basically got all the mods on this list installed, other than a few that are incompatible or unwanted, the biggest visual improvements are the texture packs and Morrowind Graphics Extender for the distant lands. Visual Pack should be your base texture upgrade as it re-textures almost everything in the game, then Connary's textures, which adds more authentic building and plant life textures, Better Bodies, Better Clothes and Better Heads are also pretty crucial, Morrowind has fugly characters. The trees are from Vality's Bitter Coast mod, though I've only installed the mesh and texture replacements as the mod file itself just adds a ton of cut paste trees which bog down performance and look a bit overkill. This is the grass mod I'm using, you only load this one inside Morrowind Graphics Extender when you generate distant land, if you enable it in Morrowind's mod list you'll just get solid, impassable grass everywhere Look forward to a good few hours ****ing around and probably a few restarted games too, it's worth it once you're done though...oh, Morrowind crashes just as much as any modern day Gamebryo game, you get used to it. *edit* This is absolutely essential if you have a high res screen.
  21. Mubarak in coma "Egyptian newspaper al-Masry al-Youm reported that deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has been in a coma since Saturday, quoting "well-informed sources."
  22. Am I wrong in suspecting Mike Laidlaw has a crack habit? I think if I were talking to him in person my head would explode.
  23. Well, I bought it, took almost three hours to download from PSN at the weekend and it was worth the wait, good style and humour, I went into the train station restrooms whilst wearing one of the comely female dolls and a guy said something to the effect of "that my lady is the smell of manhood!"
