  1. The Lusty Argonian Maid by Crassius Curio A (mercifully short) excerpt from Crassius Curio's bawdy play Act IV, Scene III, continued Lifts-Her-Tail: Certainly not, kind sir! I am here but to clean your chambers. Crantius Colto: Is that all you have come here for, little one? My chambers? Lifts-Her-Tail: I have no idea what it is you imply, master. I am but a poor Argonian maid. Crantius Colto: So you are, my dumpling. And a good one at that. Such strong legs and shapely tail. Lifts-Her-Tail: You embarrass me, sir! Crantius Colto: Fear not. You are safe here with me. Lifts-Her-Tail: I must finish my cleaning, sir. The mistress will have my head if I do not! Crantius Colto: Cleaning, eh? I have something for you. Here, polish my spear. Lifts-Her-Tail: But it is huge! It could take me all night! Crantius Colto: Plenty of time, my sweet. Plenty of time. END OF ACT IV, SCENE III Divayth Fyr was fun with his experimental corprus daughters/love slaves I went house Hlaalu but I've barely started so I'm guessing it's a while before Crassius Curio starts acting weird on me, only just noticed he wrote The Lusty Argonian. *loads Morrowind*
  2. As long as the dice are normal mapped, HDR lit and Havok weighted then Todd is a happy man.
  3. That may be a Daedric ruin. Which reminds me, it would be nice if (limited) Levitation is back in, similar to Risen. Morrowind had a lot of instances where the Z-axis was put to good use. When I first visited some of the Telvanni areas I was staring up at these vertical shafts inside a giant mushroom thinking wtf, it only dawned on me later that wizards shouldn't need stairs
  4. I'm still wondering if it really is going to be a complete departure from Gamebryo, Bethesda have good spin doctors, "new" and "inspired by" are vague terms when it comes to engine technology. I really hope it is all new, I noticed the scale has been increased in the screenshots, that Mayan looking temple near the waterfall is apparently one of the new dungeon styles and it looks nice and vast, Gamebryo locations always feel a bit truncated in the height department, I'm sure I've casually walked up higher hills than Red Mountain *edit* though some of those canyons in New Vegas were damn impressive.
  5. This is exactly what I found, most of the fetch quests took me a minute to complete, simply a matter of fast travelling, if you play New Vegas like Fallout 3 it falls apart slightly, I found it was better to go where quests lead me and explore along the way rather than picking a point on the horizon. On the subject of things I hate about games I love, Morrowind's economy is balls, I ended up starting over with a stack of mods to gimp everything and make life more difficult, within two weeks my first character had become the wealthiest, most daedric equipped mofo in the land, in reality I probably could have purchased Vvardenfell from the Tribunal and had money to spare for a few holiday homes around Sadrith Mora and Seyda Neen.
  6. This is pretty much how I feel about it, a bit more evenly divided maybe, both games give me things I really enjoy but I'm not so enraptured with either that I can't pick fault. Also, must not look at the Skyrim map, must not look at the Skyrim map, must not look at the Skyrim map...oh god it's heavan, I wonder if the grid is the actual in game cell size.
  7. You're telling me they didn't do a damn fine job creating a nuked out DC? You won't find me arguing about the stupidity of the plot, no sir, but the environment kicked ass.
  8. Out of curiosity, what does that mean? All things to all people I suppose, I meant it in the post Black Isle/Biowarian sense, dialogue heavy with lots of skill based interactions, Elder Scrolls games have practically nothing in the way of using a skill to affect the story or environment. As for rewarding exploration, true, New Vegas has tonnes of weapons to find but Fallout 3 had weapons, masses of computer logs and smartly arranged clutter to provide exposition, New Vegas certainly took some inspiration from that but I still felt the exploration was a bit empty compared to following the (excellent) plot. Horses for courses as they say.
  9. I preferred Fallout 3's atmosphere, Bethesda know exactly how to make a compelling environment that rewards exploration, as much as I love New Vegas for it's plot and real honest to goodness RPG mechanics I was constantly annoyed upon reaching a distant location, map marker included, and nothing there?...nothing!? When I heard Skyrim had been announced I decided to try Morrowind for the first time and while I'm pretty much in love with the story and environment it's obvious that it's not really an RPG in the modern sense, at their core I don't think Bethesda make RPG's, their games are more like an evolution of the Dungeon Master style with some RPG elements bolted on. All I'm asking from Skyrim is good environments, a story that makes good use of the lore and non-retarded gameplay mechanics, I couldn't care less about ten different endings or hundred line conversation trees in an Elder Scrolls game.
  10. Still playing Morrowind, surprised at how absorbing it can be, though I'm already level 19 and crushing everything flat, aided by the weight of the 200k gold in my pocket...time to hunt down some mods to toughen this game up a bit
  11. Playing Morrowind for the first time
  12. I'm fine with this, gives me some time to be completely let down by Dragon Age 2, immediately after turning 31...this game better rock.
  13. I thought Fallout 3's non quest dungeons were very well designed with plenty of little lore tidbits, New Vegas ****s all over it when it comes to plot but I really do think Bethsoft are better at environments, I'm sure that Skyrim is going to be great to explore but I'll be very let down if the quest structure and plot get derped. *edit* More books please, **** yes
  14. ****sake, It's almost 5am here and I was just going to bed, now I have to stay awake for another hour reading forums full of pure speculation
  15. I put the cash down for the Augmented Edition while it was still cheap at Game.co.uk, I wasn't going to bother but I decided I should probably support any company that's making games in the style I like, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it turns out good. It went back up to
  16. I completed Blops earlier this evening and it's a frothing ocean of macho bull**** rage, but jesus, by the end you can't help but laugh at what an achievement it is, a glorious, historically raped, idiotic achievement. I feel dirty yet I somehow thoroughly enjoyed the experience
  17. I went back to Boulder City weeks after I let the NCR massacre the Khans and Jessup was still standing in the wrecked shop, angry face, had to kill him...and eat him
  18. I'm guessing he didn't go quietly when they tried to arrest him, I wonder if it's an event you can witness.
  19. I was in the abandoned brotherhood bunker last night and noticed some foreshadowing of the Sierra Madre DLC, fingers crossed we're getting some Burned Man DLC too
  20. I love this idea, it's exactly what I'd like to see but I don't think we'll get anything like it for New Vegas, consolidated dlc with separate stories are way more marketable.
  21. Weird, I gave the latest Freespace Open a whirl but found it still has huge issues maintaining 60hz vsync, regardless of what detail settings I use, bummer
  22. I'd bet a large sum of money that this will be coming out on the pc eventually, on a side note, does that screenshot remind anyone else of a Counterstrike level?
  23. I'm relieved to see that this DLC is going to take place in the Mojave, all that empty space on the map needs filling with stuff to do
  24. I tried Freespace Open last year but was gutted that it ran badly on my pc, now I've got a new computer and they've apparently doubled the performance I'll give it another shot
  25. I'm not saying it looks bad, the cutscenes and takedowns do look amazing, I think I'm focusing on the enemy troops, they seem a bit like mannequins with their expressionless faces and chunky ragdoll physics. To me the game looks very much like Deus Ex with more polys and bloom, if they keep the depth in tact then I'll be over the moon.
