Nick was season 2's Kenny for me, those ****ers were always screwing up my best laid plans.

50 Hours into GTA V, still very much enjoying the game, it's world and the atrocious people who live there.

Waiting for Fallout 4 while Gnawing away at Oblivion, the Ever-Game.

Bahhh, cool video but I hate how in engine doesn't mean **** these days.

I can kinda relate. A few years ago my dad died and I've ended up as my unwell mum's only real support, it's brought us closer than we've been for years but it also puts me in the position of once again being her child while also kinda playing the husband. It's a weirdly bittersweet experience, a great comfort and a great burden, I couldn't have it any other way but I do feel as though I've lost some independence, me and mum are now some kind of symbiotic life form and most of my decisions include her. I'm also playing father/psychologist to my schizophrenic older brother while stuck in a comfortable yet totally dead end career/life that hasn't changed in years and I'm not even going to talk about girls because that's a rant that'll never end I'm only 35 and I feel doomed to watch my family grow old and die before my eyes while the last of my wasted youth slips away. I know exactly what I need to do to make my situation less oppressive (go out more, socialise, get fitter) and am doing these things but progress is slow. I had some therapy earlier this year and it helped but the effect kinda fades, seems like something I need to keep having...I still recommend it though, speaking to someone completely outside of your normal life does help.

20 hours into GTA V and still loving the game. They've made missions a bit easier and that's fine by me, previous games often frustrated the hell out of me with their massive checkpoint gaps. Also the humour is right up my street, utter and complete contempt for basically everything!

I recently upgraded my box so I'm finally enjoying the pleasures of GTA V and finding it very entertaining, I might actually complete this one. Also getting into the Bioshock Infinite DLC but the return to Rapture feels a bit cheap, it only re-enforces my opinion that the combat system is not as fun as the original Bioshock. The biggest surprise is that my new PC runs Oblivion at a solid 60fps in every location...I genuinely thought this game was so badly optimised that even brute force wouldn't yield much of an improvement.

DX11 VS DX12 game performance in ashes of the singularity.
WDeranged replied to kirottu's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
Everything I've heard about DX12 I've liked apart from the operating system it's tied to. -
There's a bit of Avellone in this new Wired article/podcast Hollywood Needs to Stop Stereotyping Gamers.

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
WDeranged replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
I dunno, the Sith society they created seemed pretty damn implausible to me. The sheer amount of scheming, backstabbing and evil laughing betrayals in the MMO was baffling, I dunno how the Sith could get anything done at all. -
Yeah I stopped playing WL2 for one reason or another, which is a bit of a shame because I think it might be a better game than PoE. I'm looking forward to giving it another spin with fancier graphics.

Hope the game is good but I expect it will run like garbage on even a beastly PC, same as every other Total War game

My brother is schizophrenic, today he was explaining all the secret meanings in the box art of his Tefal juice machine but luckily he avoids the deeper rabbit holes of thought

Oh and thank you very much; WTH?

I've seen posts from people who paid over $300 for one. It looks tacky as hell to me but I suppose I do get it, I kinda wanted that Alduin statue they did for Skyrim...

I loved Morrowind, the story kept me playing but it had so many cool gameplay ideas...yes most of them ended up broken and not much fun but it really aimed for the stars. Gotta agree with you about Skyrim though, they really condensed their gameplay formula into a crack like substance with that one.

Ehh I love all Bethesda's games for one reason or another, it's just good to have a moan about the things you keep wishing they'd do Yeah I know how much you love Bethesda games, you have clocked more hours on Skyrim than most ( how much time now? ) I admire your commitment to there games, my point is more to people who are already saying " Fallout 4 sounds like it is going to be terrible game " Somewhere between 800-1000 hours, similar for Oblivion and Fallout 3...too much Yeah there's some prejudging going on. I think if you hated their previous games you're probably gonna hate their new games. I can't possibly imagine what would make you put so many hours into such a game.... I mean.... I really can't find any reason to do it... it has near 0 replay value, main story is weak and the world is not that big, so what are you doing in the game? walk around and kill stuff over and over again? Well mods and imagination help...also my play style is very laid back and explorative, I still haven't seen every dungeon in Skyrim or Oblivion. From a gameplay perspective I get tons of replay value, not so much from a story perspective but that never stopped me re-reading a book I enjoyed the first time around. Yes I'd like better writing and a main story that grabs my guts like Morrowind did but as long as it's not bad I can go along with it and still enjoy the stuff that I like.

No warnings or bans thankfully, though I notice they removed all the posts. They really do run a fanatically tight ship over there

Done.

Here's a good shot of the blurry landscape that bothers me. Yeah but only because that one thing really bugged me about Skyrim's landscape, also looks exactly the same on ultra
-
From the few glimpses of distant landscape we've had I can see that it looks very much like Skyrim's filtered noise texture. I was quite surprised to see this horrible 'putty' landscape make a return but hopefully they'll hide it with vastly more LOD objects.

Cndblank@Bethforums said. Was at Quakecon and saw the Fallout 4 presentation. it was awesome! Todd Howard said Perks every level. When you level up, you go to the Perk Chart on your Pipboy. The chart was shown briefly hanging on the garage and is in your pipboy. The header row lists each Special Stat. There are 10 perks listed under each one listed as 1 through 10. What ever your rating in a Special Stat determines which perks you can take. Have 4 in all seven Special Stats then you can chose from the the first through 4th rows on each stat. Most perks can be taken more than once. If you stat is not high enough then the perk is greyed out. There are no level requirements. To take Sniper (a Perception Perk on the ninth row), you have to have a nine in Perception. So you start with a nine In Perception, you can start the game with Sniper. This makes sense if the Sole Survivor is a vet. There are 70 base stats and most of them but not all have four ranks. So the Science Perk has Science Rank 1 through Science Rank 4. Tod Howard said with all the Perk ranks there were something like a 170 perks total. He said they found limiting what perks you can take by your Special Stats makes the Sole Survivor very unique with vary different play styles.
