  1. Well, I'm not going to post a picture of myself here, but I was thinking of my future children there for a second. :D
  2. Yeah good idea .. I've started taking a lot of pictures recently too. I realized my dad almost took none from the same period of his life and I wanted to make sure that if eventual kids were ever interested some kind of documentation exsisted from mine. The only two recent pictures (2-3 years) of me are either from my thesis defence, where I'm wearing a "white tie" tailcoat or the party after, with the same attire, and one where I'm sitting on a park bench with two gorgeous russian models are kissing me. Way I figure, sometimes quality beats quantity.
  3. I've been gone for a couple of months, again. Too bad, I really could've used the double exp on my imp agent, who's hanging a bit behind the curve. Still have the active subscription, hopefully will get to do some gaming in two weeks after the bar exam.
  4. Of course they do.. but mostly because that shirt is 'semi see through' and they just can't handle my nips! Of course they do.. but mostly because that shirt is 'semi see through' and they just can't handle my nips!
  5. Yeah, scratching my head a bit here, since obviously there's "publisher" between the two models they seem to be referring here, but it would appear that you're right. Obviously there's a lot of alternatives they have, no way they're letting anyone have an exclusive license to, say, Star Wars, anyway.
  6. Neither do you, and all your reasons for your faith can very well be just that. Eh, why not be skeptical, they are trying to sell you a product, after all. Not true, I'm witholding judgement as well, I'm not taking anything on faith. I just think the negative rhetoric in this thread is baseless. That's, unfortunately, the Obsidian forum way, been like that since I've been here (and I'd guess a lot earlier than that). Probably, isn't that the way they usually handle things, after all.
  7. Ordered some band merch last Thursday from the US to balance all this suit and tie ****. Got it today. Personal record, usually takes weeks, especially due to customs for US orders. In fact, after moving here to the back of beyond I seem to be getting my internet shopping way faster than before. Frankly amazed. Also, spent morning doing the tv lawyer role, looking sternly at a police officer questioning my client. (Mostly) Due to a lack of common languages and an apparently mediocre translator, the whole thing was an absolute riot. Talk about biting my lip.
  8. I spend my days trying to read my notes from court etc. and trying to remember stuff. Feels like work, prefer my gaming to be all-consuming sprints. That said, I deleted all my DAO and dragon age 2 saves in a fit of stoopids about a year ago. My next gaming project is running two characters through DAO and the suitable Hawkes for both of those. Which actually puts me on topic! But yeah, let's see how I manage to keep those together, I think I'll simulplay them.

As an old Toto fan for me it was the other way 'round. That song made me like Vice City Vice City was the only GTA I could really get into, which I largely credit to the music. It was the kind of soundtrack I need to inspire the sociopathy that game requires. I'm not normally into running down pedestrians and blowing up speedboats with rocket launchers, but when the pedestrians are wearing legwarmers and Members' Only jackets, and when that speedboat is blaring Mr. Mister or Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the resulting annoyance and rage gets me into the proper GTA frame of mind. That's funny, I have the exact same feelings about the game and franchise.
  10. Nah, I only have the time to post from work. ;P What is this work you speak of? Is it fun? Can you smoke it? Something we adults have to usually partake in... ;P

  12. Same here. In fact very long games start being a challenge, just can't get the time without starting to forget parts. I dunno, I didn't even get that overpowered feeling in Bioshock 1 (the only one I've played). I remember it as being a game that had a really good and atmospheric beginning, and then came apart really fast. Boring, even. Haven't been able to touch it after my initial playthrough, which is very rare for me.
  13. Speed camera, common way of enforcing speed limits. The guy's dressed up as one.
  14. Just the once, there's some training I need to participate in fairly regularly to maintain the qualification, but the exam itself is something I have to do just once. Also, I've been here less than a month and I already got a raise and a promotion (from "associate" to "of counsel"). I kind of like this place.
  15. ... I realised that the bar exam is already on the 19th, and not at the just very end of April, as I'd imagined. I'm twice as annoyed since I don't need it to practice (my other qualifications exempt me from it), but the firm obviously does require it. So while I'm handling fairly major criminal cases here, I need to spend my evenings hitting the books about the basics at the same time... Oh, well.
  16. Yeah, I identify long time posters by their avatars too. When he and Gorgon changed its like they disappeared from existance. Ditto, I think I had the Hot Fuzz avatar for years myself, I think I even missed some of my own posts back when I changed...
  17. I had to move down to ~30 ADSL2 when I moved here to the Boondocks, I have absolutely terrible latencies, though, I think some part of the "just plug and play!" chain is misbehaving
  18. I wouldn't go so far as to call $1600 for "value for money" when the first monitor lasted less than a year (and I spent more than 3 months before involving a lawyer, registered mail and questions for the magistrates court to get Samsung to fork up with either a refund or a replacement) and the second lasted less than 2 years ... Neither would I. Frankly, I had no idea their prices went that high, my experiences are from their lower-middle end stuff, but apparently they use the same shenanigans to the top.
  19. Samsung has planned obsolescence pretty heavily in their monitors and tvs. They deliver basically amazing value for money precisely because of this - they're supposed to fail fast. Some times you can circumvent it by changing some caps if you know what you're doing, but they seem to have smartened up and made it at least somewhat more difficult.
  20. Yeah, I'm not uptight enough to get into a guild that still has people playing, so endgame's been pretty "fail" to me.
  21. I really liked the crit path Mako missions, and hoped until the bitter end that there would've been one in ME3/DLC. I found it vastly preferrable to the arcade minigame-y Hammerhead. I really need to do another run-through of the whole trilogy.
  22. Indeed, the game's not supposed to be a rush to endgame. I think a fairly big part of the "wow clone, lol" crowd just played it that way...
  23. Hmpf, too bad I just moved out of Helsinki. When are you coming by? Me, I'm recovering from the spectacular weekend (sad how rare they are these days), trying to get some sensible work done before I go do the non-speaking tv lawyer part, ie. go frown at a cop while he questions my client. With my attaché case on my lap.
