  1. Soylent Green is people! Soylent GrĂ¼n ist Menschenfleisch! MENSCHENFLEISCH!
  2. There seems to be a local unisex rugby league in western Finland. I suspect that particular approach might come up there.
  3. I'm sure some people will, I bought an x360 because of Mass Effect back in the day. Let's say I have no regrets, but I seriously doubt there's going to be another game in the foreseeable future that would make me buy into a specific platform I wouldn't buy otherwise. Probably just old age, though. Hi Nep I hear you but one should never make predictions around what we are prepared to spend on our gaming experience as you never know the impact the next type of technology or the next "must have" game will have on you. Imagine if the new Torment or PE turns out to be greatest game you ever played and offers you hundreds of hours of fulfilling entertainment. Suddenly the money you spent becomes irrelevant. I always like to say " you cannot equate a monetary value to a good time or experience" Is this the point where I admit that I've never actually played Torment. Well, for longer than one evening. The last two times I've installed it, no amount of windows acrobatics has made it work... You'll notice I was careful enough to not say never, but I really can't see myself buying Microsoft's contraption at any cost or for any reason- Part of it is of course that I'm looking at a lifestyle change which will involve a lot less couch gaming than until now. Lifestyle changes are always a good thing, well only if they are positive If you don't mind me asking what are you going to be changing about your lifestyle? Hopefully enough.

  5. HBD Roz! Got my commando raincoat (otte gear patrol parka) today, slowly attempting to overcome the trauma of my **** issue gear.
  6. A... higher state?
  7. You have the madonna with the big boobies hanging on your wall? a slightly gay gestapo agent hitting on you and airmen hidden in your house? Doesn't everybody? Wait, it's Samantha Fox, not Madonna. Still, same decade. Mostly.

Probably just old age, though. VAT, which is theoretically different but for a consumer just the same. We're at 24 %. Which means that days like this, when my gore tex parka slips past customs, are ones to celebrate. Also, we have to always pay VAT, even when buying from another EU country (so no no sales tax for the equivalent of out-of-state purchases), either at domestic rate or the shop's native (big stores that do a lot of business to a certain country/all countries like Amazon UK charge me VAT at the Finnish rate instead of the UK one). Not really relate, but you can also feast your eyes on this: http://www.oecd.org/ctp/tax-policy/taxingwages.htm And since that doesn't include sales tax/VAT etc. it's nowhere close to giving you a picture of the differences in total tax rate!
  9. A lot of people did, since, for years, it was the best blu-ray player available, could still be for all I know. I know I did.
  10. And the x360 didn't have even that...
  11. See, if that happened to me, I'd have three women not talking to me Though they may form a political party adn run in the next election with the slogan "Nothing is wrong. We aren't angry. But the thing that isn't wrong and the anger we are so not feeling are all Melkathi's fault". Decided to draw some teddy bears. For some reason all the pencils on my drawing table are wierd types: two 3Hs, two 3Bs, a 4H, a 6B and two Fs. What happened to the good ol' HB? Ros walked off with all the HBs...
  12. You can get all of the benefits for $10 cheaper with some simple modding. Although I picked it up for $10 o Steam, but still haven't gotten around to playing it. All of the benefits apart from the new content and, well, stuff working out of the box, and well, all those bug fixes that could never be done without borking the engine and that stuff. I'm pretty sure the zoom level was already fixed.
  13. I'd just do one of the two, and it doesn't involve Bioware.
  14. I'm glad you liked it, it was still terrible in comparison to the PC version... Though I hear that the x360 version was at least playable, if ugly, unlike the ps3 version. I'll agree and disagree. The changes they made to party and character control were clearly concessions to improve the console experience. The changes to character creation and dialogue were about following the same philosophy that guides Mass Effect.Good points.
  15. I think it was less of an attempt to make ME in fantasy than to make a version of DAO that would work on consoles (I played DAO first on PS3, and it was terrible). Of course that didn't work too well due to the forgotten auto-attack, but still. Re self-righteous indignation... Are we talking about here or there? :D
  16. I wouldn't read too much into ME4 and DA3 using the same engine, as it's Frostbite which every EA game that possibly can use, will use (to cut costs, both in licensing and the obvious ones of being able to share stuff by using a single engine).
  17. 500 pages is three DAYS at most, certainly to a member of the PC master race, when even a console peasant can do that. ;P
  18. Yeah, especially since I, a self-professed fan of Bioware and its games, depend on all these people with "no interest in Bioware", who are "never ever going to buy one of their games again" on receiving all my Bioware news in a timely fashion. I do agree with Drowsy re: the art direction of DA2, it was a cluster****. I can't remember there being anything particularly wrong on that front in DAO, at least not anything that couldn't have been attributed to development hell. I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll manage to find (yet) another direction with DA3.
  19. I can't get scones any more. Grandmothers and mum are dead. And before anyone says it: I'm not baking my own scones. If I'm going to go gay it'll be done properly, with plenty of drugs and parties. Ah-hah! Next time we're all up in London, High tea at the Ritz.. Great scones with lashings of jam and cream.. ^^ What he said. 'Cept I don't think the Ritz tea is high...
  20. Back in the day... Before theyvwere popular? My favourite is "intellectually dishonest".If you want to call someone a liar, just say so. Occupational hazard More seriously, though, one of the things a courtroom lawyer learns really fast is that truth is subjective, to a great degree. Perceptions vary.
  21. Just because your Roskilde is a God-forsaken mudpit doesn't mean that festivals are SUPPOSED to be like that
  22. To be fair, as much as there are Republicans who're up in arms mainly because it's Obama and who defended Bush for doing similar things there are also more than a few Democrats who would have been incandescent with rage had this come out during Bush's term who are either quiet or defending it under Obama because he's their guy. If it had been Bush bugging reporters and having the IRS 'independently' decide to investigate his political opponents the internet would be replete with Bu$Hitler's and the like every bit as much.Definitely, but I'll call them out when it actually happens, instead of lessening the annoyance of what actually is happening with hypotheticals. In fact, I consider the general loose grip on reality it portrays rather terrifying...
  23. But you do know you're a troll, right? An ice troll from the Finnish wastes to be precise. Nah, I don't post to sow discord and provoke arguments, I post (in part) so that you and the other gaming hipsters wouldn't start thinking that your opinions represent the objective truth or that anyone who doesn't share your views on gaming is an unwashed and uneducated teenager from the basement. Of course, mostly I just post because I like Obsidian games. And this is their forum, not a gaming superiority complex club. "Objective truth", I like that. I'm going to start using those words if you don't mind? Nep another reason we post is that we know we are right and Drowsy is wrong, isn't that a reason? Well, there's that too. And I was meta-posting!
