  1. This reflects my experiences as well, it's an awesome tool. Back in my old job when I had to fly around a lot and carry a computer that I had no access to the internal workings of, it was a real lifesaver. But it's very useful even when one doesn't travel. I do most of my reading on it, as well, especially the magazines are very competetively priced in comparison to what I'd have to pay around here (usually 1/3 or less for european mags). My dad uses his for fairly serious word processing as well - the cloud storage works well for him as he's a mac user and the ipad supports bluetooth keyboards. So he just turns the keyboard on when he has to write something longer. Has worked for him, but definitely in the YMMV category.
  2. Or winning Formula 1 championships by ramming the people who might beat you otherwise.
  3. Pool of Radiance? A game for parvenus and the nouveau rpgiche. Akalabeth is where the old school action is at. I was so committed to establishing my rpg cred that I played it in the womb*. (also, glad to see a certain someone has got rid of his steamprofile, I may have had an irony mediated infarction staring at the DAO badge that was prominently displayed there) *Well, I played the original Wizardry through to completion when I was like 5, at least. (I was 8 when I played Pool of Radiance, but in my defence that was the year it came out and English is only my third language).
  4. That's brilliant. You could implement an option that allows people to pay to get rid of the ads. You could make it known via a character like Noober. I'm sure all these old-school grognards would appreciate the reference.* *Who am I kidding? Real old-school means playing Pool of Radiance when it first came out. ****ing noobs.
  5. Whatever you do, don't propose. He'll need the Amulet of Mara for that, silly. ... And he's playing Skyrim while contemplating it. Who's silly? ;P
  6. Whatever you do, don't propose.
  7. I like concept art for its own sake but I don't get hyped about it. However, I do like the continuing suggestions that the PC will get their own castle or base. Now the only thing that remains to be seen is whether it will be day 1 DLC with a guy hawking it at the party camp, like in those good old days of DAO when Bioware was still good.
  8. Of course, in some places, you actually do own the game because the local supreme court's taken a look at the baloney you're supposed to agree (after you've made your purchase, with no right to return it if you don't) and gone "**** it, this makes no sense, it's just like buying a banana, anyway".
  9. Yeah, or block 2 RK62 with old style metallic mag.* A tool rather than an instrument, but that's all it was ever supposed to be. The design philosophy really boils down to the selector and one click for full auto, two clicks for semi auto. *ie. those are issued interchangeably within units, so that you're equipped either with a 62 or a 76 OR the whole unit gets the folding stock 95. Unless things have changed.
  10. I get the view that SR3 is fun, but I don't understand why people didn't want to explore the much more believable city in GTA4? I suppose SR3 had loads more side quests and those help motivate you to travel around the city I think that's the exact point. If I want to explore a believable city, I can do it myself. If I want to explore the absurdity of Steelport... I can't do it elsewhere. I think the differences in the ways "wanted" levels are handled impact it, too.
  11. Saints row 3. One review described this game as "like GTA, but fun". I can subscribe to that thought, in fact I went and preordered IV yesterday evening. First open world game where I actually spend time exploring and doing stuff instead of just sprinting through the story. Either it's really good, or living in the country has damaged me in some way.
  12. Eh, Finnish Police ROE require a warning shot, when possible. Of course, then we get to the point of whether amateurs are able to assess the situation in the same way as professionals and then to the fact that if they can't, why should they be able to carry something they can't use safely.
  13. So that why you're still single? What do you mean "still"? I mean, I get days when I'd like to settle down, but those are few and far between. You were getting all soppy over some chick a while ago, I thought you were planning to stop baiting chicks with the big screen tv and PS3's blu ray playback and grow up. :D
  14. Securom has different iterations, IIRC bg2 had an early form of Securom.
  15. Animals. *giggle* *Scared* So, you think that you've lost some sheep, but counting them convinces you you haven't?
  16. I have no idea. The OGL assumes products in a written form.

  18. In this summer of reversals, Square Enix just said they were wrong and will update the game. Meanwhile, I've been playing it a bit on the ipad, and while it's early days yet, it's both a real deus ex game and definitely the best ipad game I've played. Can't comment about length yet, but they really should have done this as a Blood Dragon type game instead of "mobile", considering the apparent depth.
  19. Ditto, and my earlier reference was more along the lines of tribal wings or a tramp stamp, anyway
  20. They used grass court performance weighed seeding.
  21. Well we are talking about these DJs in this thread in Australia. Not sure why you're bringing up what you do in your own time and in your own country, different countries in general and the difference of those laws in other places. Try and keep it on topic and relevant. eg. the DJs in question. I wasn't aware my basement was in Australia.
