What are you playing right now
I had similar issue with it, but since I started the second it unlocked after a day of Division, It might have been me. Felt a lot better before I had to take a break.

Stun gun too, probably. I had emp rounds and a silencer handy for that part, so I lucked out. I think there are two other ways of completing that part that allow you to ignore the cops altogether. It's a bank, the ducts are just hidden better than elsewhere. It's probably the best level in the series, there's so much hidden or "hidden" stuff in it. I thought Champions already had "fix" in it? And am pretty sure they had auto rememorize on rest for spells in the later gold boxes as well, so while it was 2 clicks vs one, they did streamline it a lot faster...

Actually, after the intro level has seemed completely different, a lot more investigative/hacky options instead of the forced stealth of the last one. Which is a positive surprise, as I'd assumed it would be more shooty like the original. Game of the Decade candidate at this stage.

What You Did Today
Playing Division, mass effect 1-3, bunch of others I've forgotten, soon Deus Ex, listening to every inane stereotype about people with doctorates when somebody actually intervies me... Yawn. That was the update, not for today, but for the past ~5 months.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Oh, I understand this point of view. I wasn't *impressed* by Siege of Dragonspear's writing, but I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the kind of challenges the team was going through. They had to keep very close to the tone of the originals, and also try to respect the lore developed throughout various editions of D&D and various games, which could also be contradictory. I don't. BG2 is one, if not the, best games of all time. Assuming that games that have come since should automatically be better is why this forum is home to so many bitter (youngish) men who spend their days going over perceived faults of games that came after ~2000. Assuming that a game with a fixed beginning and ending point and a considerably more limited scope is going to be better than BG2 is, well, insane.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Kind of like the original, then?EDIT: I know this sounds super-edgy, so let me clarify: I immensely loved the original Baldur's Gate when I was a teen. In retrospect, though, I think the writing in the original Baldur's Gate is simply *awkward*, and while some of the intrigue and build-up to the Iron Throne is good, it falls apart as a bundle of fantasy clichés barely held together by cute one-liners. For all my complaints about them, both Siege of Dragonspear and Baldur's Gate II improved on Baldur's Gate 1 immensely.Bland writing is an inside joke so long-running that I'm probably the last one who remembers the joek part: It's a bull**** complain that can be applied to anything to maintain an air of superiority. I came to SoD from a BG1 run and the writing was certainly better than BG1. SoD writing was praised recently by the God and Master of many here, Chris Avellone. The interesting part is that the game has a lot of class/stat based dialogue choices, which are happily completely invisible (so no INTELLIGENCE to telegraph it to lazy reviewers...)

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear RELEASED
Funny story: I stayed away from every discussion possibly related to the game to finish it unspoiled, and, apart from a couple of fairly insignificant bugs, enjoyed it tremendously. Imagine my surprise when people are frothing at the mouth about a line the camp healing bot has. There I was, for once prepares for the "bland writing" argument. Anyone actually take the time to play the game or everyone too busy with people who are wrong on the internet?

Siege of dragonspear
'cause "mod" sounds more dismissive? trick question? am not thinking that fairness or accuracy were the goal. HA! Good Fun! There seems to be a complex pseudonarrative for it, at any rate. And well, it was either the ce or more hookers and blow. Honestly, I see this as no different from some of the kickstarters I've backed, similar team setup etc. Plus, frankly, bg1 soundtrack is worth almost the whole investment to me.

Siege of dragonspear
Do you call all other expansions mods too?

Siege of dragonspear
Why are you labeling SoD a mod?

Siege of dragonspear
The ce is supposed to come with a steam code, so I'd say that's a reasonable expectation.

Gromnir is an interesting case also in the way it shows how access to Watcher's Keep gear and the raised experience cap make the game that much easier. The fight is really only an issue if you carry over a vanilla SoA party at the experience cap or when using the default party (I'm guessing here, I never used the pre-mades). I never played BG2 with SCS installed because it came out after I stopped playing. I did play the game on Insane with full Tactics and Improved Ilyich (back when they were two seperate mods, pfff, do I feel old now). Yeah, well, after Improved Ilyich you know enough cheese to make the other fights in the game utterly boring by comparison. Except maybe for Kuroisan the Cheesy and Ascension. All of which are mods though. So, time to stop thinking about it before I actually reinstall the game. Time for some more Grim Dawn. The Gromnir fight is mostly memorable from my last playthrough, when he got Deathbringered by Sarevok (I thought he was supposed to be immune to it).

Siege of dragonspear
A bit salty, but worth it for a copy of the original bg soundtrack that had eluded me and the dice. Or, well, "worth it", but **** it, preordered.

Gaming on the imac 5K?
I've never been able to justify an imac for personal use - even when the top models had desktop gpus, I've always gone with either their laptops or the minis, back when they still actually cared enough about the mini to make it functional. While I'm happy to pay the apple premium for the OS, I can't bring myself to cough it up for their peripherals. I'd still rather go with a laptop and external screen in clamshell mode... I'm sure I had a point when I started writing, now I'm less certain of it. Hopefully new minis coming in a couple of weeks, which might change the scenario a bit.

What are you playing right now?
Been playing dai over the past week and that game really feels like work, as I'm somehow obligated to do all the filler quests. Interestingly, I'd had it on hold for a couple of months at the exact same spot... Played Descent yesterday, while I've dreaded the derp roads parts in the earlier games, this time it feels like the best part of the game outside Trespasser...

Me too. The problem is, I live in Finland. Apart from that, looks like unemployment's knocking on the door. A bit over a month left and nothing lined up for now.

Too bad about the football team, though.
