  1. This raises an interesting question, why do FPSs have to evolve and yet RPGs should stay the same? (I'm actually not being snarky here, it's a genuine question since it's something I think I see quite a lot)
  2. Actually like more than half the people playing those romances aren't gay, otherwise they would be offended. Like the outwardly gay minority is, because quite frankly is all to socially correct. There is no awkwardness at the proposition, no taboo, guilty desire. They took out all the homoeroticism out of the romance, which gives me an idea of the kind of writer that they are. And there I was, thinking that this thread was full of tired stereotypes and bigotry. Oh yeah, I still think that.
  3. I'm here to expand frontiers and vocabularies. I managed to dodge Anders's attention, but fell for the good old "teach the elf slave to read" line. Serves me right for going with the top right option on autopilot, but that guy definitely wasn't Bioware's writing at its most gripping.
  4. Wow, you really are rather uncouth, aren't you?
  5. That your lawyer? i thunk it's Patrick Weekes, one of the ME1-ME2 writers. Hmpf. Ninja'd.
  6. I mean, she was quite chesty already in ME1, the Alliance has just upgraded the uniform cut to be more flattering. Re: hair down, I wish I could've found that scene from Loaded Weapon, google + 2 minutes wasn't enough. And here are some of the Reaper peons: http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g45/free..._20110407_2.jpg. Everybody seems to be going ZOMFG, BATARIANS at the guy on the right, but he looks more like a Yahg derivative to me.
  7. Or it's a psychological experiment to confirm that there will be virtually no complaints of consolization if they are announced a week after the pc release and released a month later.
  8. After the HUGE deal they made of the "suicide" mission in ME2, that would be an epic fail on their part. A lot more jarring than it was with DA2 (though, in my case, apart from the Architect, everybody who was supposed to be dead was dead and vice versa). Wonder if certain DLC decisions will be forced canon on players without them, or if the comic will be used to fill in the blanks.
  9. The inventory and upgrade screens look like they are REALLY pushing the x360 controller option. Which IMO still brings up the question exactly how much do they have the consoles in mind with this supposedly "PC flag bearing" release? The guys did look a bit high, but I wouldn't exactly call them REALLY bad. Maybe... pedestrian?
  10. Courtesy of Bioboards: :D
  11. The key difference being that Mary Marle is the lead writer for DX3, whose precise job is to make sure that happens, and the person with the idiotic opinions the internet hate machine met with glee is just one of the writing peons. When I have Dave Gaider say the same thing as his subordinate did, I'll be the first to throw a conniption fit.
  12. I don't, PC was a bazillion times better. I've only tried the demo of DA2 on a console, but certainly at the moment, with the lack of auto-attack, there is no way I would play a complete game on either ps3 or x360 when the pc version exists.
  13. Bio keeps messing with the deal, they're now tossing in the Firepower pack. So apparently, even if you have ME2 PC already, you'll get the nice gunz for nought if you buy DA2. Looks like even I will have to take advantage of the offer.
  14. I don't think anybody will say that it was as good as DA1. Some people will say it's better, some that it's worse. Personally, I think that it's a bit better, because the main issues are purely cosmetic (the recycled areas). I missed the oral sex scene the first time around. It's in the DLC mission, so unless you got the Sig Ed, you have to pay extra for it.
  15. How do you get that? The offer page clearly says Cerberus Network is included? I'm pretty sure that when I looked this morning, it said differently.
  16. There are fanfixes for several DA2 bugs (import bugs, Isabela's buggy companion power etc.). I don't think even BG2 had a lot of fan support less than a month out. Besides, makes sense to see what gets fixed and broken in the first official patch, eh? DA:O, otoh, has really good "fanfix" support via the dragon age nexus. Certainly up to the level where Baldurdash was when I got into BG2. Re: free ME2 without Cerberus network. Looks more like it could be a clever marketing ploy for ME2's DLC, as well.
  17. I wouldn't hold my breath for that one. It wasn't discovered until some weeks after release, and seems to be a bit complex in how it works, so it might take more time to fix. I'm assuming most of the 100 fixes is stuff Bio had discovered after going gold. Also keep in mind that if they stay on the same path as DAO in bugfixing, there is a big chance there is going to be a truck load of known bugs they never fix. BG2, DAO, and basically all other Bio games. Yeah, my expectations aren't quite that high.
  18. Now now, that's uncalled for. He might flounce again. Glad to see that, in spite of my ignore, Boo is still classy.
  19. Actually quoting me, then using 'you' seemed somewhat indicative. So what's turning you off from playing Witcher 2 ? The implication was that you might have noticed a simllar phenomenon. The spex would be the most honest answer, if it were to run in the first place, it would be a total slide show. A good friend of mine is a huge Witcher fan, and he keeps trying to persuade me to give 1 another chance. I just have a colossal barrier against PC gaming, I currently spend about 12 hours a day hunched over a computer for work, I just can't do it for an extended period when I'm not working (which is why I snipe on FB or a forum or two and then amble off again). Some games I can rig so that I can do sofapcing, others I can't. Initial impression was that Witcher wasn't doable. A small part is just general cussedness, a counter-reaction to all the fawning the game gets.
  20. I think you've confused me with someone else on the forum. Oh what a way to get back at 'those' people, though, eh? If I was writing just to you, I'd use a PM. I assume you're an intelligent person with at least one functioning eye. Yeah, I better put on another layer of foil wrap, just to be sure.
  21. More like taking any excuse to confirm my negative bias. Sound familiar to you? Witcher 2 is an incredibly good-looking game, though. Too bad this rig won't be running it.
  22. ZOMG, consolised crap! (you guys are slacking, I have to do it for you, now?) More seriously though, not surprised after seeing the combat gameplay. Can't say it's exactly a step back after the mechanic in W1, which resulted me in uninstalling after five minutes and cursing the steam sales. I still think I should give it another chance, but...
