  1. People who don't have to care what other people think? Then why am I not wearing one?! I'm so confused. A lot of people who wear earrings are... Awesome link, too.
  2. Note to NATO: Water supplies all over the UK contaminated with hallucinogens.
  3. Took me 7,5 hours the first time.
  4. So, the DLC is out, I found it to be really sweet, a lot of things seem improved over the main game, and it is, indeed, a missing link in more ways than the dxhr continuity itself. In fact, if even a quarter of the things they tease pan out, it's going to be awesome. (The DLC ends with: "We're just getting started".) Oh, and there's a "don't do x,y,z" 'chievo again, and I didn't get it, again.
  5. Well, a bunch of guys from Montreal just did a fairly excellent game for them, so it could be worse.
  6. Heh, did get that job after all. Guess that experienced person somebody was pitching at them wasn't interested in the 12-13 month contract, but I'm ecstatic right now. :D
  7. Except for me it comes out tomorrow. I've actually been playing Madden 12 demo of all things, since my dxhr playthrough is at "the" spot for missing link and I want to see if it gives me further background for the remainder of the game. One weird thing, is it sets up almost like another game in steam, and runs as a seperate game. You don't access it "in" DEHR. That's... interesting. IIRC one of the interviews mentioned that they've evolved the engine for the DLC (well, they're talking about it in singular, but...), which I guess could explain these oddities.
  8. In my experience, yes to all. Doesn't feel too intrusive to me, but then again, I have to boot to another OS to play games in the first place, so my tolerance for annoyance is probably pretty high in this matter. ME3 being origins only isn't confirmed for the moment, but definitely likely in the current climate.

  10. That link is nsfw, they are fellating skidrow in the comments.
  11. Generally (and this applies to phones as well), the "price" argument is the one danced around but never mentioned - because it's pretty damn petty in either case. Yet, it's a strong motivation in people in general and I've never seen anything that would convince me it doesn't apply in this situation, as well.
  12. Meh, sounds like I won't be getting that job. They were absolutely ecstatic at the interview, but as usual, someone "safer" has applied - this time apparently after the deadline. Kind of story of my life, both with women and employment - in the end, they always go for the safer, less innovative option.
  13. It's not that having a gaming pc that costs more then a console that makes them a superior human being, it's the fact that they use a gaming pc rather then a console that does that. You're looking just at the surface, not the rationale behind it.
  14. "my phone is more expensive than yours" "the guy in the next cubicle has one so I must have one" "my gaming pc costs more than your console so I am a superior human being"
  15. I don't know: at the end both those results are not exclusive and that's why EA is forcing MP in most franchise they own. They are making money out of MP. They want their share of the used market: they know that they cannot fight second hand sales. A used copy of a consolle game costs 20-30 euros (and you can rent them for less). A new copy of a game costs 60 euros. If I'm in the mood for used games and waiting a couple of weeks, the choice is a no brainer. Then, if I really like the game and want to try the MP, I will spend 10 dollars for the EA online pass. It's still 30-40 euros against 60. It's my understanding that the "source of all evil", gamestop, charges significantly more than 20-30, closer and sometimes over 50 for used games. I could be mistaken, since, as I believe I mentioned already in this thread, I have never bought a used game and never will.
  16. Actually, it usually stands for "me" or "the people who do my thinking for me". Re: bad reviews for Legacy. Assume it's gaming "journalists" desperately grasping to get back the gaming hipster cred they lost for accidentally liking DA2. And double-failing, since it's better than the game. :D In fact, it's just one of those things were studio rep plays a disproportionate role in the reviews, either up or down, whether it's Bio or Obsid (*cough* alpha protocol scores *cough*)
  17. But the point is not only to prevent, but to make 10 dollars out of every used copy. No, the point IS to prevent, the 10 dollar price tag is to make a new copy the more attractive choice.
  18. Not cool to have all this bad stuff go down. Meanwhile, I've handed in my dissertation for the preliminary evaluation, spent a couple of days abroad checking out the latest literature, now taking 2 weeks off before I do my final management & leadership studies exam, integrate my newest findings into the manuscript and hopefully get ready to move to a new job.
  19. Not just limiting them via the pass, also trying to make it more likely that people will hold on to it for a longer time. (Personally, have never bought a 2nd hand game nor ever will, so any views I have on the matter are even more theoretical than usually )
  20. I do not remember EA/BioWare ever mentioning exact sales numbers for ME2, or a mention of disappointment in sales. Or if NDP released some sales numbers. So that basically remains an unknown. Agreed, there's no data that says ME2's PC sales were exceptional in any way. I'd still be hella surprised if they were more than symbolic in comparison to the x360+ps3 sales.
  21. Didn't hear anyone scream in ecstasy when they did just that with Legacy.
  22. I thought the DLC was quite good, they mix up things nicely between "levels" so it's not all "kill moar stuff in endless tunnels!" like Legacy (which I admittedly enjoyed as well). There's a short stealth section which I thought was quite fun and, as with Legacy, your companions are quite active and both (in addition to Tallis) have small specific mini-quests, which are a neat touch. Without crossing into spoiler territory, this one has a lot of recurring characters, so I assume that either the VO was done while they were doing the main game or they're working on a bigger expansion (or they splurged for everybody to come back for just this and/or they were already in the booth for TOR, but...). There's tons of fairly heavy-handed foreshadowing here, which makes me think "expansion coming".
  23. Markets change. Once upon a time it was booze and guns, now it's drugs and guns. If there hadn't been a market for cocaine, the Taliban wouldn't have been able equip themselves with more than sharpened sticks. Heroin.
