  1. mmh, the whole thing's been blown so out of proportion it reeks to me of another simple case of bandwagon jumping.
  2. Pretty much agree, In fact I didn't mind any of the bosses, but then again,
  3. Well, thanks The short version is that I was the poor kid in rich people's school and, well, never really bonded with lawyers, either. And for some reason, pursuing a doctoral degree tends to generate colossal amounts of envy. Really ****ed up relations to a lot of people.
  4. So fed up with everything now. I've learned everything I'm going to from this process (how to write scientifically, that writing scientifically is not for me, a lot about finding legal information, that people are afraid of doctors even when they aren't dentists and that few people like me even as much as the woman who lied to me for months and ditched me for another guy). Now I just need to do some highly unpleasant and mentally demanding writing for the degree itself before I can move on, and I need to do it in 10 days. Sigh.
  5. Haha, most excellent. Also, I wasn't going to post just the above, but I was in the wrong thread. ;D
  6. I have this on my door: And yes, there was an attempt by the uni to ban all posters etc. Obviously, enforcing such a rule against a couple of hundrer lawyers is too much of a pain to bother with, they probably oppress the linguistics people twice for us.
  7. True, true. More often that not the PS3 version disc size = x360 disc size, unfortunately, but your point still stands.
  8. Remember, the 360 version of Dark Souls is a port. From Software is only making the PS3 version, while the 360 port is handled by Bandai Namco. The fact that they've never shown the 360 version to the public is...suspicious, to say at least. In other words, brace yourself for an inferior version. That would be the second or third game that is inferior on the x360 in any quantifiable way. (Let me qualify that by saying that I'll still take a PS3 version over x360, if at all possible).
  9. Well, fever'll do that to you in general... Get well.
  10. Seriously stressed out. A million things to do while should really be doing creative writing (deadline next on next week's Friday). Argh.
  11. All the hallmarks of a relaxing weekend. :D
  12. I've got a bridge to sell you. I do remember very well the outcry when Blizz announced to have SC2 split into 3 games. If Blizzard just said "Okay, listen, one main game + 2 expansions", people would have said "Oh that's cool". But some people do get very sentimental about these little things. When you work for bobby kotick and start releasing campaigns one at a time, it's not "expansions" we're talking about. Also, kind of what Fluoride said.
  13. Well I hope it turns out good, but you can't help but have the grind fear... Hell even the SP stuff like DA2 has gone in that MMO grindy direction. Bioware, why hath thou forsaken us? While I think that DAO was grindy, I saw nothing of the kind in DA2
  14. Really? I was about to suggest how we all just get a bunch of aluminium base ball bats and beat just him up instead. He gets to experience a rough approximation of the scenario while we get to let loose some stress. Win/win.
  15. Win. I once held a presentation on data protection law to a crowd including the deputy prosecutor general while having acute sinusitis. It sucked. Good luck!
  16. Kidnapping rings are already common in South America, particularly in Venezuela. I'm actually a bit amazed that the cops aren't wearing a more heavy duty armor (no wonder he got shot through the vest) bit of reminder for everyone, the kingpin who organizes all those "poor" people doesn't live poverty. Plus there is a great deal of distance between necessity and viciousness, thugs seem partial to the latter. Hell... kidnapping is a huge issue in Mexico. I hear it's an issue even in Arizona.

http://www.tinribdigital.com/Superfish/6-W...Superfish10.mp3 The only bad thing is... I CAN'T RECOGNISE ONE OF THE TUNES!
  18. Mmh, we might get a "reverse Ireland" where drug dealers become politically motivated (counter)revolutionaries!
  19. This has also been addressed on the steam forums, but seems like these games really don't like HDMI audio for some reason. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting it to work that way before I start troubleshooting it? These were the first games I played with surround sound back in the xbox days, and I'm really looking forward to recreating that experience on the PC. :D
  20. That's on my blu-ray purchase list. Not had the opportunity to watch a lot of movies lately, but don't think I've missed out on a lot. Looks like there's a bunch of interesting BD releases in the next few weeks, probably need to stock up a bit.
