Looking at the cap, the horsies would appear to be from the 80s segment. Blops was a fun romp, we'll see how this turns out.

Switch to ibuprofen, my friend. Paracetamol is a bit limited when it comes to headaches.

Happy. I think most of their tiers sucked, though, there's absolutely nothing worthwhile between the first boxed version and the $ 500 signature edition. I did go for the boxed version, in the end.

One good thing about living in the "socialist utopia" is that you're not personally liable for your employer's stuff unless you're actually negligent in its handlings. Ergo, they can't offload their lack of proper coverage to you.

There's too many similarities between Mass Effect and Babylon 5 for it to be a coincidence. Just like how there are too many similarities between Dragon Age and Warhammer for that to be a coincidence. And yet, I seem to have missed them all. (which isn't to say that most things in DA have been lifted from somewhere else - but WH? WTH?)

Almost empty office at work, due to holiday tomorrow. Naturally CEO shows up. *snicker*

I think it actually gets worse when you're done with that and just working on the index. :D :D:D:D:D:DDDDDDD

Weekend's passed way too fast. I can't wait for the dissertation to be done for good, it sucks my soul away. Happily Tuesday's off, I'll take it off the unpaid work, too.

It's interesting, a form of predatory pricing. I'm clearly a beneficent of the mostly-standardised game prices, since everything else here is hella expensive too, I assume they'd charge me 10-20 more if they thought they can get away with it (and Gamestop occasionally does, but often their exclusive preorder bonuses are so good as to almost warrant that).

I have to admit, I kinda regret going digital with this one... then I remember that Dark Souls Limited Edition already threatens my limited space with its mini-artbook and I guess I can see why I made the choice. Plus, who knows, maybe in the future I'll grab the box.. Not sure if there was a version of the "Dark Edition" for PC, I think there were differences in the packaging at least - which is the most impressive part to me.

Haven't managed to play yet (and probably won't until next weekend), but they sure know how to design a collector's edition. Probably the most beautiful game box I own.

I meant nothing of the kind.

It's already on sale, bro! He meant a legal one. And there's a demo out there on PC, although, from what I've seen, it's not that good of a port. Black bars when use my native resolution, no chance to select whether I want to use my gamepad or the keyboard, meaning that all the prompts I see on screen are for the gamepad... on the other hand, the game runs flawlessly on max settings, so that's pretty good. PS3 version, at least in the demo, was running sub-30 I think. It is legal. Otherwise all those sites would have been brought down already. Yeah, just like pirate bay.

I know it's happened in France, at least. When death does not part This was recently used in the case of one of the paratroopers or cops who was murdered by the islamist psycho. I wouldn't classify it as "dumb", per se.

Tough week at work, and about to start working on the index of my dissertation. Mebbe save it until tomorrow, but that's going to be this weekend's theme at any rate. Not sure if I ever bothered to mention it, but I had a love-at-first-sight experience on the first day at my current place of employment. Her birthday's on Sunday, got her a book on italian organized crime (which she loves). Too bad she's taken, good thing we work at the same place so I have to keep myself in check. On the more happier front, we had a stakeholder party last night and a cute blonde lawyer chick was hitting on me all night. Might have to pursue that, to keep myself sane re: dream woman.

Because even a child knows that paying $5 for a game you won't play is a better deal than paying full price for one you will. Right? or, for $5 even if you only got a few hours of entertainment out of it, you're getting a betted deal than having spent that money on a multitude of other fleeting entertainments? why would you buy something you have no intention of playing? Or, living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, I can just put on a fake smile and keep buying stuff I really want, since my money's going to disappear, anyway. ;P

*fistpump* Still can't persuade myself to go beyond the $ 40 level with it, though I do hunger for a game box... Too bad I decided to single-handedly prop up the UK economy this month.

Yes, he should spend the money on cheap games in steam sales and never play them.

What's the current legislation on price fixing? I know I found a way to circumvent EA"s price fixing on ME3 (it lists one price on Origin until you log in and then adds almost 100% when you are down under), but you don't always have the option. The movie industry has been doing it for decades with their "region encoding" (sounds nicer than price fixing), Let's not confound what is legal to what is being on the side of the angels.

Geographical pricing? Anticompetitive behaviour? Unbreakable monopoly due to lock-in? "Oh, I'll buy it on Steam even if it costs $ 5 more so I don't have to install another client" etc.

When I become the next king of Sealand (or similar), you're hired as the minister of health and social affairs.
-
Yeah, I have similar feelings. The system that was designed to make people play mp seems to have the opposite effect.

I think they'd want to wait at least a month or two, a lot of people are paying off their contributions to the games you mentioned (and some others...) Gonna be interesting to see what the Two Guys from Andromeda do...
