  1. I started in the 80s, at the moment the only games I'm interested in (BGEE1&2) are coming to the ipad but not the consoles. Ok, obviously if I buy the ipad version it's just gonna be a toy and the actual gaming is going to be done on the mac, but still
  2. Somewhat, I'm probably starting again in a week or two, even if I need to get my grossly misshapen body back into the lean mean killing machine I was.
  3. I'm guessing Sam Hulick's the new composer, btw. but this is just a hunch based on some tweets I saw a while back. There was an interesting tweet today also about how threading was broken in ToB and by fixing that, they sorted a lot of the issues it had.
  4. Yeah, got a bit better later on. Didn't get any work done, but happily don't have anything too urgent right now.
  5. I can't believe people still complain about people who complain about the ending.
  6. Was having lunch and got ambushed by a major depression. Thankfully have a long weekend coming up.
  7. No. I think we have a potential country/education system pattern here.
  8. I just went with Warp Ammo, all a sentinel really needed. Well, it does show off her stomach and allows her to use some obvious wonderbra...
  9. I've also found it impossible to like more than one studio at a time.
  10. In my case, it's probably more linked to the types of games I play (these days). If I was into "historically accurate" strategy, it very well could expand my knowledge of some historical events and conflicts. Games are a part of popular culture in the same way as, say, movies, tv series etc. so, sure, they expand my participation in that. But is there something unique about the medium in this sense? No. Is this impact significant in the scope of either gaming or the sum of my education, so to speak? No.
  11. ... Seems kind of odd to kickstart an already announced game, but, hey...
  12. Which reminds me, the Witcher 2 x360 special editions got cut in half, so yours truly was left without a copy. I'm starting to think they simply don't want my money.
  13. Max Payne's actually watchable, though.
  14. Or multiplayer DLC, as it may be.
  15. You missed the one where he said they have 2 of the original BG background artists on the team. I REALLY hope they do the old grey+gold palette for BG1, personally.
  16. I guess they diverted manpower from the ending to that thing. Which, apparently, has been up since before the game came out.
  17. According to Wikipedia, the movie script and ovnership of the movie project has been shuffled around and changed hands (studios) several times since 2000. Maybe movies have "development hell" too? Sure they do: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Development_hell
  18. Put together (another) version of my dissertation I'm comfortable sending out (have a log of 4 15-minute corrections I can't do at the moment, checking that every URL for electronic references is working and up to date and doing the index). Hopefully I'll get green-lit so I can send this off to the publisher and be done with it. Meanwhile, at work, after an essentially unslept night about to do a memo on a rather complex multilayer (international, european and national levels) legislative project. S'gonna be aaaawesome!
  19. In hindsight, I should've probably gone with Kierkegaard.
  20. I hope you were suitably humbled.
  21. Sounds to me like they're poking fun at Mass Effect 3, but ymmv.
  22. Pre-order bonuses? There's nothing in the game (apart from the Missing Link mission) that you couldn't get for free with some version of the game day1. In fact, in most of Europe, all preorder versions included all bonuses.
