  1. I'm (also) speaking from personal experience when I say that anyone who wants to be a moderator is clearly unprepared for the position. Asking for it is even worse!
  2. The best review I've read so far: http://calitreview.com/24673
  3. Looking at getting rid of the fat, not the muscle.
  4. Congratulations, you have just performed the lamest action available to a forum poster!
  5. Guess that just proves that giving you a choice of three **** endings is worse than serving you a single decent one. You know what I'm actually worried about? That even people at Bioware will chalk it up to a "new age [of] EA BIO hate" and not realise that they really screwed the pooch this time.
  6. Calling the ending "dark" is an insult to darkness all over the world, but I can sympathise with those people: If you are going to have a **** ending, make it at least happy. The bar for a "bittersweet ending" (which is what they think they created) is automatically going to be set higher. Now it just makes everybody unhappy, those who wanted a happy ending and those who wanted something well written (not necessarily two different groups).
  7. You sure you want to give me extra reasons to not buy this? Edit: Well, since you guys are no help as usual (), I had to look at it myself, and it looks like cdprojekt is simply referring to the ESRB rating they received for the PC version last year and not making any changes. Well, guess I'll put an order on it, then.
  8. I'm a fat ****, I gained 20 kilos in essentially 6 months after the ex split and it hasn't been too rosy since, either. Unfortunately am at work on the dissertation even right now, so need to finish this thing first. Looks pretty good on that front, one more book on the way that I need to check, and then it's done...
  9. "But... it's Apple, it can't be any good!"
  10. I still feel sad that the Icewind Gate project never finished. Would have loved to play them on the Icewind Dale II engine. The quote was "using the latest version of the engine", which was extrapolated into ToB. Based on the system they are using, ToB is more likely, but let's see what we get, first. No, the quote mentions the Throne of Bhaal codebase specifically: https://twitter.com/...387224926429184 (I'm too lazy to use the new idiotic linking interface) Oh, my bad then, thanks for clearing that up. And yes, linking took a major step back with the forum upgrades. That "link to a twitter account" function seems pretty useless, isn't there an alternative that would allow to embed a specific tweet?
  11. In what way? The script was written in English in the first place IIRC. Uhh, in the way that the game has some Adult Content, which is very prone to getting nuked in a console version which generally has to conform to a certain set of moral standards. As a rule, I refuse to purchase anything censored, so I won't in this case, either, until I can be certain one way or the other.
  12. Daaaaamn. I wish we could get some more feedback like that here. That would be interesting. It's ironic though. Whenever I read video games forums, Alpha Protocol became a Cult Classic when Dungeon Siege 3 is regularly trashed. Amusingly, it's a standard opinion on those SAF forums. I don't really care about other people's opinions (well, when it comes to video games, at least), but I'm frankly pretty shocked by this. I genuinely like Alpha Protocol, I could easily put it in my top5 games of the past 2-3 years. Think I'll need to replay it again. OTOH, I tried the demo of DS3 and couldn't bring myself to buy it, even out of a sense of loyalty towards Obsid.
  13. I admit that in spite of the pot shots I like to take at Witcher and its fans, this would be day1 for me, were it not for my fear that it has been Bowdlerized.

  15. That second-to-last Need For Speed game had that (time comparison to friends etc.), so it might not be what you're thinking.
  16. Hmpf, unfortunately not playing this weekend due to work.
  17. Nope, I'm still right on target, you're confusing receiving compensation with participation. And for all we know, Trent could've walked out with a license to make IE games the day he left Bio.
  18. ... Next you'll be telling me that Epic (as the owners of the Unreal engine) played a critical role in the decisions Bioware made in the development of Mass Effect.
  19. If it's not being developed right now, I don't know what is.
