If you look at DLC sales, they basically start plummeting immediately after release - It'd have to be a standalone xbl/psn game, if not a full-blown sequel. The latter (a full-blown sequel) is my guess, whether they target this generation or the next is going to be the interesting part.

Acti pays former Infinity Ward staff: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-05-15-activision-pays-out-USD42m-to-former-modern-warfare-devs Well, well.

As can I. I have really dry membranes so can't use it regularly, only when I'm fighting a sinus infection, but my mother's a daily user, never gets sick, tough old bird.

I don't know what to think about that, if we look at the games made with that engine, they are mostly iOS/android and web browser games. That might just be a sign that the license wasn't attractive to Big Publishing, and prior to the kickstarter fad, ios/android and browser games were basically the sum of possible users. Also, all the kickstarter games are targeting a pretty wide selection of platforms... The LSL remake is using it, as well.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced

Apart from the main and vigil themes, he wrote everything that was good in the three games. I haven't heard his non-ME work, but I've heard a lot of people rave about his Red Orchestra 2 score. I'm fairly confident that it will be true to the BG feel and of high quality. I understand he's a pretty major fan of the original game and score. -
In my case, yes. But I'd consider working for free if I actually worked with the girls in the pictures. The next step is that the pics are going to our web page. I think that's a good thing; at the moment, I get a lot of "random enquiries" because I'm the first non-secretary in the alphabetic listing. If they'll be seeing a doofus version of me within a bunch of glamazons, I think it's safe to assume that they'll send their enquiries to them. Or they are chauvinist pigs and will consider an ugly fat guy more reliable than a young cutie.

IT had the brilliant idea of setting up our "official" pictures to show up in internal e-mails. Most of the younger ladies are glammed up to the point where I can't make a connection with the everyday version I normally encounter. Absurd. And I look like **** in my pic.

I get that occasionally, but since I always play with subtitles anyway, it's a minor annoyance. And nowhere near "half" the time... Of course, I also tend to crank it up a bit, so I might have some lower volume dialogue still very audible

Or republicans and tree-huggers.

Same. Apparently that's not all I missed there, either. Le sigh.

Fixed that.

I get what you say, although I still feel that the main focus of the Witcher 2 story which was the politics of the land came across shining. If that means that you don't get to experience the same atmosphere as you did in 1, i'm ok with it. Storywise they have been able to constrain their weak bits in favor of focusing the majority of the plot on a stronger story. The Wild Hunt is to the witcher what the Reapers are to ME and even less since they haven't been a central part of the plot yet, I think you just jinxed it. STAAARCHIIIIIILD

Seems to be a lot of that going on, heard one of my coworkers had U.S. Walmart purchases show up on her's just this weekend. Which is kind of hardcore, since it suggests they've actually cloned a physical card instead of just the info for online purchases.

Windows Live Messenger sucks. Need replacement.

I use google talk (via Adium, but pidgin supports it as well) to communicate with friends and family. Good client support and most people have a gmail account of some kind. Facebook chat is a vile creature, but remains the best non-phone way for connecting with tall blondes outside talking distance. -
C'mon, you're smarter than that, don't do the provoking game! You know fairly well that what for you is a waste of resources is golden to other people (not necessarily just Codex grognards either). Dealing with all the trolls in-game might have rubbed off a bit on me. But yes, the game does seem to suffer a bit of some subset of the DAO disease, where every segment runs on a bit longer than it really should. Not branching would've probably made the impression worse... or allowed them to compact things up a bit. Who knows.

That link to the Free Radicals article is quite something. It seems to reinforce this notion that publishers don't care about quality, but only about releasing the game as quick as possible. Only inasmuch as it impacts the sales. If they can sell **** on a short dev cycle (guitar hero, cod), they'll think they've found the holy grail.

Both this one and the Leisure Suit Larry revival suffered from a bad initial announcement, IMO. I still haven't put any money behind this, because, frankly, I have no idea what I'm going to get. I realise that I could probably find out easily at this stage, but the initial impression was so confused and weak, I really can't bring myself to.

Most disappointing. No smell of rotten eggs, no methane bubbles, no soggy, squishy noises when trudging through thigh deep black slime, no mosquitoes... it's a Witcher game in name only I dunno, I've had more than my share of running back and forth. And classically, the only dungeon so far that has given me the option to skip the running back part had a hidden treasure trove unlockable with a key from the end at the beginning, so I still had to run it back. Apart from that, it's quite good, so far not the Second Coming some have made it to be, but then again I don't get a sustained erection from their level of story branching, even if such a waste of resources is rather impressing.

Witcher 2. The game has so much running back and forth I'm half surprised I don't see "Adidas" as one of the splash screens. Otherwise been enjoying it.

They were afraid they were going to have to change the name of the islands?

Not really a fan of the eastern front, for semi-obvious reasons. Which reminds me, I really should play CoH, it's the steam sale purchase I never get around to playing for me.

I spent all day at work on wikipedia. HAH HAH HAH.

I sorta regret not going with the dumb & dumber reference (ie. he must work out) earlier, though.

I dunno, I think even the bonus pater familias would drop his ipad every now and then. More seriously though, I probably should've gone with "reckless" for the proper flavour.

Yes, why can't he be normal and go over the same circular piracy discussion every month, instead?!
