  1. Strange, I've not read that anywhere, and I've been following them pretty religiously. They've repeatedly referred to getting old voice actors back for new content if at all applicable (in the context of irenicus and minsc). Guess there's new content and "new content".
  2. Don't. Of course, the interesting part here is that they plan for the NPCs to carry over into BG2EE, so the "family connection" might not be accidental.
  3. Doesn't sounds like a glowing endorsement, either. Though I understand that it's a lot rarer to see Android users talking into 8" tablets.
  4. True, true. I get two days out of mine, as well. But then again, I run pretty much anything resource-intensive on the tablet, instead.
  5. Alternatingly or with different hands. Clearly you've never heard why camel herders only eat with their right hand.
  6. I dunno, like Cantousent, I'm quite used to being left alone by even the most intoxicated troublemakers in real life(probably due to my size, I can't imagine 10 years of martial arts being visible after another decade spent on a sofa, picking my nose and eating pringles), so the fact that I have to listen to all kinds of annoying people online tends to puzzle me a bit.
  7. 5 hours? That's a resounding endorsement to buy if I ever heard one. :D
  8. Badum-****. Also, best censor ever. Whoever designed the word filter for this forum had a considerably filthier mind than I do.
  9. I'd say "afraid" more than "expecting", but, yes. I also like to hedge my bets, so I can happily invest in both old school game kickstarters AND BGEE. Guess I just see it differently from most of you guys. In fact, I suspect a lot of the guys who say they won't be buying it now for 18 $, would've been all over a BGEE kickstarter, paying 3-4 times the current asking price. I think there's no way the kickstarter honeymoon is going to continue when the actual games start dropping.
  10. Haven't played it, but since Activision killed the studio right after release, it's probably actually good.
  11. Let me put my pft in this conversation. Nobody else is gonna try? WHATEVER. Kickstarter. I knew I should have pre-empted that. Let's see what happens with kickstarter after a few of the current projects either fail spectacularly in execution (this is looking promising for Leisure Suit Larry) or turn out to be outright fraudulent (I think most of you know what I'm thinking here). OTOH, I guess that having a working version of BG1 in general for the mac is colouring my perception of the attractiveness of this project (the mac version barely worked in the first place, and hasn't done so in ~10 years). I also believe that whenever somebody writes "oh, I'll just use mods" somebody decides to add a heavily encrypted data format.
  12. Well, pft to you too, sir. If a small team built, sure-fire thing like this fails commercially, you can bet nobody else is going to try doing one.
  13. No, the fine Obsidian board members are typical angry gamer nerds that generally make asses out of themselves. (see this thread for evidence of above claim)
  14. And we'll be able to depend on the Call of Duty, and nothing but.
  15. Yes. Graphics source material was misplaced by Bioware and unavailable to Beamdog. Glad to see "I wonder why they don't make RTWP RPGs any more... and I sure as **** am not buying the only tentative attempt at making one!" crowd here in full strength. I'm buying 3 versions of this just in the hopes that they'll keep afloat, and maybe send a signal to other publishers as well.
  16. Heard that too. Ouch, familiar. Happily have been a bit rarer of late, a "regular" lifestyle seems to help.
  17. Agreed on both counts. The opening cinematic is especially legendary. But if they make it visually more similar to BG2... not a bad idea...
  18. ... and the official site with the pictures and all is completely hammered. Again. Looks like I'll have to get the PC version, too, so that I can show my support for the project. It's not like I haven't bought this game 3-4 times already, what's another 3. Edit: each of the characters comes with an adventure, too.
  19. I think scouting has a different level of relevance if you live in a country with a conscript army. I slept my first night in a tent during boot camp (coincidentally, also my last one, but that's another story). As long as we have that burden, any male child of mine will be a scout.
  20. I'm thinking that's a roundabout way of saying there's no way they're going to get (even) the Planescape license for a game of this type. Of course, Beamdog managed to get a lot of people on board for the BGEEs, but I think the leap to kickstarter might be too large for the relevant license holders. Now I'm mostly wondering why they don't flat out say it.
  21. Put 8gb in my 2yo surfing/htpc/light gaming mac mini in the morning... didn't do much. Upgraded OS to Mountain Lion, now this is so fast it's almost scary.
  22. Acti haven't 0'd Raven yet? Bobby K's outlook alerts must be acting up.
  23. What mechanics? I thought GTA was a racing game. Too bad Rockstar hasn't realised it.
  24. Not quite. Besides, my % is higher than his these days, anyway.
  25. Yet it just got added for KOTOR(1) and BG (which also always had a mac version. albeit a seriously outdated one) is getting one in a few months (BGEE). I eagerly anticipate what non-information you will post next.
