  1. If it's set to private, you'd have to explicitly invite people. Probably the best way for people to get in on this game would be to message him for an invite on Steam. I'd join, but I have to leave for work in about 30 minutes.
  2. I've noticed this too. I've mostly been using the mouse for movement, and while I can't say for sure, it seems like if I let off the rmb as soon as the screen changes to setup for the scene, I'm ok, but if I'm little slow in releasing the movement control, I end up facing in the wrong direction, almost like movement control is taken away a moment after, instead of before, setting up the positioning for the cut scene/dialog.
  3. Did discover that it was a port issue. When I went into my router settings and had it forwarding all ports, it worked. Learned a new command line tool, so I think I've figured out which ports it requires, but I'll have to wait until I can get another game going with my friend, either later today or tomorrow, to actually confirm that I got them all.
  4. Playing DS3. Played about 4 hours last night/early morning in single player and then another six hours today, spread between two sessions, in co-op with a friend of mine. Loving it so far. Only issue I've had is with my router. Had to open all ports on it to host the multiplayer, since I haven't been able to figure out which ports it requires just yet to do it in a more secure fashion.
  5. Tried starting up a private multiplayer game through Steam with a friend today, but it didn't work. I've previously run into this issue with Brink, where I had to set up the port forwarding on my router for it work properly. Can anyone tell me which ports DS3 requires for the online multiplayer? That way I can either solve the problem, or cross it off the list of possible causes. Thanks.
  6. Since I'm a little confused on whether this is supposed to be fixed or not fixed, I'll just add that I've been playing about 3 or 4 hours since it unlocked for NA and haven't received any of the achievements that I should have. Also tried restarting Steam, to see if it would update anything, but it hasn't.
  7. Is there a Day 1 patch? My friend discovered the hard way that Steam doesn't actually patch anything, having picked up The Witcher 2 from Steam, instead of GoG.com. While everywhere else you download a small patch that replaced what needs replacing, with Steam, any changed file gets completely re-downloaded, which meant a 9GB+ download for every patch. If DS3 has a large file that got changed with a day 1 patch, that might explain why people have such a large download on installation. Fortunately, I understand Steam is working on a new content system, so patching, rather than complete file replacement, is in Steam's future, but that doesn't help much right now.
  8. I am all for this. But that's mostly what goes on even in this subforum? But, our dumb trolls are better than their dumb trolls!
  9. Haven't yet run across a link for this here, so I'm guessing no one's posted it yet. Found it amusing.
  10. The Escapist seems to be down.... Well, their twitter is saying that "Eyeing our next target". So far they reported Minecraft, Eve Online, and Escapist as their targets that were hit http://twitter.com/#!/LulzSec Oh, and they're also running a phone switchboard. Turns out it was League of Legends. I get the feeling that these gents are going to have problems in the near future, from other hackers, and from a very large group of people who want heads. Some part of me finds this all very funny, some part of me reminds me I should do a thorough change of all my passwords on a much more regular basis.
  11. I picked up a gamepad originally for GTA: San Andres. It was playable with mouse and keyboard, but the controls never felt quite right, unlike with the gamepad. I don't use it for much, but it was certainly worth picking it up. As far as DS3, I've played through with both gamepad and m&kb, and I'm actually leaning very slightly towards preferring the m&kb, how they are, over the gamepad, but I have a week to change my mind. I'll probably end up swapping back and forth depending on my mood.
  12. This happened to me too and I couldn't stop laughing for some odd reason. It was just funny to have my character breaking the fourth wall... Heh, oh well. Did you see this bug in a multiplayer or singleplayer game? I also ran into this bug in a single player PC run while using Anjali, don't remember who the conversation was with. But I've now done three runs through the demo and it's only happened the one time. Haven't seen any other bugs.
  13. Yeah, this isn't what I meant. There's something else you get, though it may not be accessible in the demo. I would guess that we would receive some sort of Deed bonus at some point after what's shown in the demo.
  14. From what I saw, if you turn down the cash reward, you get something. Don't know if that something is random or fixed, but I think I always got something. Medallion, shield, something. But maybe you get that regardless. I haven't actually done a run where I took a reward.
  15. I died twice with Lucas on my second run, but made it through without a problem on my first run playing with Anjali.
  16. I've played through the demo twice now, once with kb&m and once with a controller that I hadn't used since about 2007. Both took me a couple minutes to get used to, then it wasn't an issue. I'm looking forward to the release date. Already have it pre-ordered on Steam.
  17. I'd pick them up at $10 each, but at $15 and $20, they're still a little too expensive, in my opinion, for the 4-5 hours of single player. Though I would pick them up eventually.
  18. That actually looks like something I'd grab day one as well. Didn't play the first Prey, but this one looks like it plays a lot like Brink, meaning a parkour heavy shooter.
  19. WOOHOO! Privateer! And Ultima Underworld!
  20. It's official. Witcher 2 comes to the 360. Edit: forgot the 2
  21. I'm getting a lot of skipping too.
  22. The Ultima Forever site is live now. http://www.ultimaforever.com/ Looks like it's pimping Ultima Online and giving out Ultima 4 for free, which was actually released quite some time ago for distribution for free on certain sites belonging to members of the Ultima Dragons. It has all the box art from the main series, 1-9, expansions and the two Ultima Underworlds, but no love for the Worlds of Ultima games, Martian Dreams and Savage Empire.
  23. *looks around* This is pre-emptive, I take it? Or are we just talking about all the "bonus" items? Yeah, don't really care enough about them to consider it a flaw, but it has kind of reached absurd proportions. I was actually surprised there wasn't more. EA seems to have an on going DLC thing setup with Dr. Pepper for several games, but DA2 didn't have anything.
  24. The cost is still too high for the capacities they would need. A 32GB flash drives runs about $30 retail, can probably be manufactured, guessing here, around $10, maybe $5, which is far more than the couple of cents a DVD/DVD-like media would cost.
  25. I've actually been thinking about going back and playing through the Ultima series again, except maybe skipping the first three. It's been a few years since I played any of them, so it's probably about time for another run. Never did finish the second Underworld, and had always meant to go back and correct that.
