  1. On the bright side of this mess, I learned new things about US and non-US corporate customs and related laws, so thanks peeps.
  2. I'm trying to customize mechs. I dunno, maybe I managed to grab the wrong ones but it always feels like I don't have enough space to put stuff on them.
  3. Didn't touch the game for a few days because Alien Isolation captivated me. Now I'm back and the dropship mission got stuck between turns when I ejected my scout. @Chilloutman: I still get some uses out of his Sensor Lock but I do use it more sparingly than at the start. Usually because he's busy punching things with his Firestarter. Still great for peppering people over hills with LRM 15-20s.
  4. Plot twist: This is actually just Avellone's long-term research for his future game Forum Drama: The RPG.
  5. Yeah it breaks easily and can barely move. It has some things going for it, great accuracy even when shooting outside of vision range and some really disgusting damage if it all hits, but overall, I dunno. If I had a Cat K2 or a Black Knight (are those even in the game?) with 3 PPCs I'd go with that instead.
  6. Finally did the Smithen mission, holy crap. Dusted off my Centurion and Trebuchet and gave them the largest LRMs I could. One pilot had to eject early because her ****pit armor folded like paper and the LRM enemies kept focusing her. Down to 3 people while we had 6 enemies left to deal with and half my Blackjack was in orange as well. Kiting and mineral field abuse saved the day. Last enemy on the last turn managed to core my sniper but luckily I did a save just the turn before that.
  7. Great, now I haven't noticed a decrease in ammo but I have this paranoid feeling that ammo doesn't replenish. What I'm talking about is an objective in a priority mission. You can cause explosions by shooting the crates but you get less money the less you have intact in the end. "Refunded after seeing the pronoun choice in the char creation. No cash for SJW." Really? It sounds to me like you could use one of their safe spaces if a single pronoun choice gives you that much of a nervous breakdown.
  8. Outside of your starting morale during missions? Not as far as I've seen. Also holy that ammo depot mission really is no joke. Though you can sacrifice two ammo caches and still earn max rewards so I'll have to do it that way.
  9. I'm really curious now how or to what degree my experience differs from everyone else's. I've had only one mission I had to reload because of a lucky CT melee punch, otherwise I can manage only minor mech damage or occasionally one or two injuries and somewhat bigger mech damage, which is then solved with substitutes and travelling.
  10. I have to say now that I'm starting to acquire 'Mechs and weapons I'm getting torn on what to use. Had to throw together something random for the free Centurion you get which ended up blooking like a nice long range platform but never got around to actually trying it out because I also scraped together a Panther and a Firestarter and the latter is for now really pulling it's weight. Now I'm pondering whether to swap the Vindicator or my Blackjack out for the Jaegermech. Between the pilot training options, the OpFor and my own potential force organization* I'm kinda drowning in possibilities. *Thinking melee or light fire support scout (at least until I hit a speed bump necessitating an upgrade), two fire support mechs - one more glass cannon the other heavier to offtank when necessary with a decent alpha strike option if necessary, for which the starting Blackjack is actually really good and finally an extra meaty middle/close brawler to tank some things and alpha strike others. ....So the starting setup basically, just better.
  11. Sensor lock removes 2 pips of evasion and allows your other mechs to use indirect fire on out-of-LoS enemies. It also revelas enemies that are in radar- but out sight range. Now if you don't consider this a good use of a turn, then don't pick it for your pilots. I'm probably going to keep it around but likely in a heavier mech.
  12. Still have Dekker, though he spent a month in medbay. Got as far as the Argo mission, then the game decided to half-freeze during the last few rounds. Le sigh.
  13. Can someone tell me if contracts expire over time or are they rerolled every time you finish one? Got my first choice between 2 of them and I'm not sure which to go for or if I can have both.
  14. I'm torn between Escaflowne and Sidonia, though I haven't seen a lot of mecha shows.

  16. Those are Clan mechs, not unseen. thouh the former won't be featured either because the Clans don't show up for another ...20-ish? in-game years.
  17. I don't see why they'd run back to Shadowrun immediately? At least one expansion is likely I think.

  20. Is that game actually fun or is the story any good? The videos I saw seemed a bit unpolished and looked boring so I couldn't decide.
