  1. Some information about that on the wiki: Spells
  2. Only problem with their previous games (especially Gothic 3) is the chronic scarcity of human females. But I guess in an island setting, at least, that isn't so much a problem.
  3. The guy's getting whopped by a boar doing insane amounts of damage. Must indeed be a Gothic game. I like it.
  4. Giants: Citizen Kabuto from Planet Moon Studios was divided into three parts with very different gameplay, each played with another character. It worked really well. EDIT: spelling
  5. I'm surprised nobody has yet mentioned an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera or a gamma ray burst.
  6. For laughs, acquire the Mysterious Stranger's unscoped Magnum - it does 9,000 damage.
  7. What are you playing it on? I've got a gtx275 and 2 gigs of ram and it still loved to hang out in the sub-30 fps range. Which isn't too much of a problem, but it felt more jittery about it than polite society would dictate necessary. Ah well, I didn't even care for the game too much so I don't know why I need to run it perfectly anyway. I have 3 GB RAM, Geforce 8800GT and the game runs generally smoothly everywhere save in towns. There the fps takes a nosedive to the low 20s.
  8. The Return of the Pint-Sized Slasher
  9. Not to forget, the hero should suddenly turn from a schmuck, barely able to lift a shovel, into a master swordsman just because some powerful villain taunted him how he had butchered the population of the hero's village.
  10. Judge not and you shall not be judged... R.I.P., Michael.
  11. It's funny Call of Cthulhu has been mentioned... the Point Lookout expansion of Fallout 3 actually feels a lot like an expansion to CoC (of which was Bethesda was publisher?). Some of the enemies look like they came from Innsmouth, not to mention the second part of the main quest feels like one long insanity vision. Also, the way enemies are nerfed (making them inflict 35 irresistible damage on top of any weapon damage they inflict) and come to you in mobs makes survival sometimes as ridiculously hard as in the Cthulhu game.
  12. I'll have to keep an eye or two open for it myself... not sure when it'll arrive here.
  13. The hero should of course also go on a quest for a mythical, huge two-handed sword (called for instance Foecleaver, Deathbringer or Skullsplitter) necessary to vanquish the Evil and that only he, the chosen one, can lift and cuts through both stone & flesh like a knife through butter. The mythical sword must contain of course the essence of all its former wielders, who were wannabe heroes that failed to retrieve the sword from its remote hiding place: the dreaded Death Mines of Kryadoon.
  14. One of the dreaded new enemies in FO3: Point Lookout, the "Swamp Blob"
  15. But what if you could? Think of the possibilities! Hope you get internet soon In the E3 promo vid we've seen a mage transforming into a huge spider and another transforming into a dragon... so maybe it will be a spell that can be learnt by specializing in conjuration magic. It would be a definite plus to the game, but maybe too cool to be true.
  16. I just started the DLC and already I've picked up two intriguing quests - one Cthulhu like which could eventually involve some interesting 'choice & consequence' and one involving espionage from beyond the grave. Enemies are annoying, it seems some developer merely entered the GECK and set the speed, damage & health values to maximum.
  17. Interestingly, the CEO of Zenimax Media, one Robert A Altman, is married to Wonder Woman. Is this what makes them the unstoppable corporate juggernaut they're appearing to be?
  18. I will try out the latest DLC for Fallout 3, Point Lookout, in the near future. My PC still hasn't reached level 30, so there's still some stuff to do.
  19. I can imagine at the end of the game, there will be an option to join the Uber Bad Guy (who's apparently a demon in dragon form) instead of fighting it. Maybe one would even be able to use the dragon as a steed in the next game, in Eragon-fashion. The setting of DA is typically just another variation of what Tolkien penned down. Tolkien Lite
  20. Nah, that's Hellgate: London. BethSoft should have bought id Software before making Fallout 3. At least then it could've been a decent old skool shooter.
  21. Or it is revealed that the hero was in fact conceived by the lich in a vile magical experiment involving the blood of newborn children, jackal teeth & the eye of a Kraken, to create the ultimate Champion of Evil - but the experiment turned awry when the lich was distracted by a boob flash of one of his scantilly clad succubi and the infant was transported across the world in the barn of a random farming family who took up the child and raised it as their own. So the hero would then finally learn of his heritage after facing and defeating one of the lich's powerful henchmen, who would splutter it out with his dying breath and leave the hero behind crying "Nooooooooooo!!!" in despair and cause a lot of tension with the hot cleric --- even causing the hot cleric to leave the hero's adventuring party only to be kidnapped by another henchman of the lich, forcing to hero to go and save the damsel in distress who would of course be locked in a tower with seventy-seven floors, each of them guarded by a Demon Prince and a three-headed hellhound.
  22. Yes, but I maintain hope that it will be possible to join the Uber Bad Guy and wipe out humanity from the face of the planet. Or even better, enslave them. That would be in line with the origin of the character I'm planning to play, the poor City Elf bride whose life was ruined by the cruel human overlords.
  23. The accent of the red-head is deliberate, it seems. She's from Orlais which may come from Orl
  24. Kratos wasn't evil, but just a product of his time - a time where a victory was only considered complete with the complete annihilation of the enemy's male population & the enslavement of the enemy's female population. All Greek heroes were violent butchers. Achilles for instance single-handedly killed an entire Troyan army when he was sad that his buddy got killed, for instance. He only showed some emotion when he found out too late that he had skewered a hawt Amazone Queen. *shrug*
  25. One of the hero's party members must of course also betray the main hero, not to mention the hero must befriend a snarky, talking pet during the epic quest (preferably a tiny dragon that got cast out by his brethren because of his size and the inability to breathe fire).
