  1. Agreed about the swashbuckler build, I played a swashbuckler/rogue in SoZ and the game was very fun to play with Bluff/Taunt/diplomacy maxed out.. I didn't pick ranger levels since the one I took along in Samarlong was pretty good. AC shouldn't be a problem once one can make +5 mithril breastplate & +5 cloak of deflection. With improved two-weapon defense it should be at least equal to AC of a stud wearing heavy armor. In MOTB one can ultimately make +8 armor & cloak but it isn't really necessary.
  2. As with Arena, getting out of the first dungeon without reloading ten times is quite a feat... it's easy to run into a pack of goblins just after your weapon broke. There's no minimap in Daggerfall, and them dungeons are all huge labyrinths. It's said that even lead designer Ken Rolston couldn't get out of the starting dungeon without dying several times.
  3. They should make Battlespire and Redguard available for download. Those games are impossible to find nowadays, but are awesome.
  4. It reminded me of the one in Dark Messiah
  5. Sloth demon, huh? I'm surprised a video wasn't released featuring the Desire demon...
  6. For those interested, the very first Mechwarrior is abandonware: Link
  7. I might get it. I see it comes with five new "side-adventures"... if any of those is as good as "The Price of Neutrality" it'd be a fair deal.
  8. Shien is the best saber style hands down, IF one uses critical strike and a keen lightsaber with opila crystal any cell that gives additional critical damage. Otherwise, Juyo > Makashi Exar Kun?
  9. Been toying around with the Morroblivion mod:
  10. microsoft.com or simply use Windows update...
  11. Dunno. Once you get access to Spectre gear and/or acquire Colossus armor, the game becomes easy mode on any difficulty.
  12. Oh! To be a true Fallout fan! Btw, for those that deem Bethesda strayed too far from the vaunted Fallout formula, I present this: Return to Shady Sands
  13. Well, if it is done like in the Witcher with the oil painting cutscenes, then I can see nothing wrong with it. I do not mind killing off potentially recruitable NPCs. If it's possible, I'm definitely going to kill that over-hyped scarecrow Morrigan.
  14. I'd go with cold resistance. But frankly, death magic is more of an issue in MOTB than elemental magic.
  15. There's Wacken Open Air in Kiel, Germany at the end of July...
  16. Does it matter when a favored soul can get "Protection from energy" at level 6? Not to mention, companions can cast "Energy immunity" sooner or later.
  17. Well, in the warehouse enemies don't suddenly pop up out of nowhere to stab you in the back. The major annoyance I had at the early parts of the game is that Qara, Khelgar & Elanee were killing things way earlier than me.
  18. I extracted it from the middle of page 2 in the Eurogamer preview that was linked to by mkreku.
  19. Finally a detailed, unbiased preview looking at all aspects of the game (save storyline). "Clubbing a nice magical old lady into the ground is bad enough in any circumstances, but when Wynne finally expires, we're immediately shown a brief film detailing her potential impact on the rest of the game - what the world could have looked like, in other words, if we hadn't just put our enchanted shoe through her head." This seems a bit odd. It reminds me of Morrowind's "Reload a saved game or persist in this doomed world" ominous message after killing essential NPCs.
  20. Spells like Iron Body/Stone Body make immune to sneak attacks but casters can only cast it on themselves, unfortunately. The only thing more irritating than a group of rogues is a group of death knights (*cough* MOTB *cough*). Instead of a fighter/rogue, I like the swashbuckler/rogue combination. Swashbucklers have taunt, lore, diplomacy & bluff as class skills & those skills make the game a very enjoyable experience throughout.
  21. That Cthulhu comic seems to confuse the Old Ones with the Great Old Ones. The Old Ones are synonymous to the Elder Things from At the Mountains of Madness, IIRC.
  22. I'm playing Tribunal. Finally managed to get it working on my stubborn Windows Vista.
  23. Has anyone already tried monkey gripping scythes? I've played MOTB through once with a pure Ranger and once with a Paladin/Divine Champion. With the ridiculously powerful companions you get in the game, it's hard to go wrong in this regard.
  24. Have you tried different video drivers?
