  1. I'd like narrators that, instead of embelleshing the hero's actions, would do the exact opposite, along with taking constant potshots at the 'hero'. Something like this was in the Bard's Tale remake (I believe that was Tony Jay)... it was even taken further in that game by the protagonist at one part reacting to the narrator's snarkyness.
  2. Unless you really want superhero comics, there's much better stuff out there than anything from Marvel or DC. CrossGen for instance has some brilliant fantasy/sci-fi/detective/samurai/sword & sorcery comic book series, that all form part of one big grand design storyline.
  3. Seems like a stupid premise, knocked-off from Marvel's "Secret Invasion" plotline. There's an entire Green Lantern Corps that would have destroyed that threat before it even reached Earth.
  4. Judging from the trailer, it looks like this game is heading into Sacred 2 over-the-topness.
  5. ... And the BioWare Social Network was engulfed in flames.
  6. Well, Dragon Age had pretty cool concept art, but look how the actual game turned out. Anyone can hire Frank Frazetta to draw something Epic.
  7. So there will be more pushing old ladies from the stairs?
  8. When a Super Mutant Overlord is shooting you with a Tri-beam, or with the Super-Laser-Minigun-Of-Doom, you really want to shoot the weapon from their hands. It can also be useful to target the weapon of a Sentry bot & the targeting system of a Mr Gutsy.
  9. Did Karpyshyn rape your cat?
  10. Will DS3 even use a party? From the only preview that mentioned combat, it sounded Divinity 2 or Demon Stone like, i.e. one or two game characters & continuous involvement of the player being necessary.
  11. "Through a glimpse at the game
  12. No, fusion inside a star stops at iron. Heavier elements come to be formed in the 'blow-off' from stars & supernovae, when neutrons bombard iron cores.
  13. No, between 3 and 20 solar masses is enough: Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff limit The nuclear fusion inside the star stops when the core is iron, because after this it is no longer energy effective: Binding energy curve First hydrogen is fused to helium, then helium to carbon, then carbon to oxygen, then oxygen to silicon, and silicon to iron. That is the moment where the star cannot longer withstand its gravitational collapse and becomes either a white dwarf, a neutron star or black hole depending on its mass. Any object can become a black hole if it is compressed to a certain radius. For the Earth, for instance, this is 9 mm.
  14. Those pics of the city look pretty nice. Reminds me both of ancient Rome & Assassin's Creed 2.
  15. Activision board meeting:
  16. BioWare, the once and future king of streamlining.
  17. Is that American McGee's Alice a sequel? Looks great, but what's with the undead card soldiers?
  18. Is that Resident Evil 5? If yes, where's the chick?
  19. Dungeon crawls are fine as long as the level and/or encounter design is top notch. If BioWare improves on that, I'm interested. Massive incline of BioWare.
  20. Gygax himself created the drow, Ed Greenwood fleshed them out. Salvatore only created Drizzt, the first 'good' Drow.
  21. Or maybe a "Raging Boll" Barbarian/Monk special encounter.
  22. I hope DS3 will feature an Uwe Boll easter egg. I was thinking of an in-game NPC similar to Baldur's Gate's "Noober" and Baldur's Gate 2's "Neeber". Only that would faithfully convey how one generally feels about the man.
  23. The trial is one of the worst parts of NWN2, imho. No matter how brilliantly you use dialogue checks and humiliate Torio, you're railroaded into fighting that fat lump anyway. Why even bother holding a trial if everything can get decided with a barbaric duel? Dragon Age's Landsmeet is the same silliness. 1. Change difficulty from hardcore rules to normal. 2. Put Qara in party 3. Fireball! 4. ... 5. Profit Yeah sure, until Kelemvor appears in the game and renders the entire story superfluous.
  24. R.A. Salvatore writing a Tolkienesque history of a fantasy world?
