  1. I never imagined there could be a Hollywooder nuttier than Tom Cruise.
  2. Be sure to copyright this before D. Gaider takes notes.
  3. A lot of times picking a dialogue option in DA:O lead to the same NPC response anyway,
  4. Thomas Covenant RPG would be nice. If developers are going to use a pre-defined protagonist, why not take a good one? Covenant starts out as an annoying, whiny brat that eventuallly comes to grip with himself & his condition and becomes a great hero. Sounds as perfect BioWare material.
  5. I guess we'll get the same amount of political intrigue that was in DA:O. I.e. a few rants from Simon Templeman.
  6. Cruijff & Beckenbauer should get married.
  7. From what I remember from Witcher 2 previews, though, the Order of the Red Rose was destroyed (nullifying one ending of the Witcher if you went the Order route) and the fact that Triss is with Geralt in Witcher 2 nullifies another ending (where she becomes Foltest's court sorceress if Geralt went the neutral route). But I can't exactly imagine the Scoia'tael route to be canon either...
  8. I hope the Witcher 2 won't have the importing of saves, since I lost all my Witcher 1 saves when I had to format my HDD. Wasn't there talk about a canon ending for the game anyway?
  9. I'll tip my hat to BioWare if they actually dare to completely overhaul Dragon Age's combat system and do away with the party-based RTwP. Maybe they'll return to the system of NWN, where it was basically a solo playthrough but with various henchmen to be picked up along the way.
  10. Immersion demands it.
  11. With the Advanced Tactics mod, I only micromanage the mage in Dragon Age. In Baldur's Gate, I simply gave all characters missile weapons, set their script to ranged and micromanaged the mage & cleric to occasionally buff and throw an offensive spell. The reason why Baldur's Gate 2 came up with those ridiculous thousand-and-one spell protections, was to prevent for the game to be played on autopilot. Both games are far from the paragons of tactical combat they are presumed to be.
  12. People shouldn't be worried about combat system, they should worry about encounter design & dungeon design. Fighting the same identical mobs in the same neverending corridors (Deep Roads, Temple of the Urn) using the same tactics (Cone of Cold + shattering, the only way to bypass the level scaling and get things over with quickly) is no fun in any combat system.
  13. Mike Hawke requires a same-sex romance.
  14. DS2 was actually the same "click and watch" like DS1, with the difference that every few seconds one needed to active a power that instantly decimated a large cohort of mooks. Only boss fights required a little more attention from the player. Apart from plot, DS2 is way better than the first game because of side quests that spanned across entire chapters and required one to revisit several world locations.
  15. They really need to slam-dunk Anachronox 2.
  16. Jarlaxle in Ust Natha was another R.A. Salvatore creation. That annoying guy that tricks you into killing a lich. Not to mention Crenshinibon, one of Icewind Dale's plot devices.
  17. "McFarlane will be on-hand, along with the game's lead designer Ken Rolston and its executive creator, R.A. Salvatore." Salvatore did writing for Demon Stone, which was a pretty fun but shallow game. Rolston was the lead for Oblivion. I'll keep an eye on this.
  18. So it finally becomes clear why Raphael Sbarge didn't do any voice-over in DA 1. R00fles!
  19. DA 2 is sounding more and more like Fable 1.
  20. It could refer to flashbacks between grown-up Bhaalspawn Morrigan's spawn hero and child Bhaalspawn Morrigan's spawn hero.
  21. I guess it's more accurate to say it's decriminalized (Belgium) for personal use. Although consumption in public and around minors is still criminalized, IIRC.
  22. You'll get more a hangover from some Cuban cigars than from cannabis. Cannabis is legal here, it's hardly a big deal. More of a big deal over here is cocaine replacing XTC as the #1 party drug, even the country's #1 cyclist got caught using it.
