You're better off waiting for LOTR: War in the North if you liked Demon Stone.

I finally caved in and got Dead Money and while story & characters are interesting, I can now totally understand why people complained about the gameplay. It's just not fun. The constant BEEP BEEP BEEP is simply maddening. Luckily I have a character with 100 Stealth & Light Step perk so the first part of the DLC was smooth sailing. I can't fathom how a character without those abilities would be able to get through it without going insane, though. I also don't understand why your character loses all gear at the beginning... aren't the collars enough? Seems pretty stupid for Father Elijah to rid his lackeys off all their gear if he wants them to survive in one of the most dangerous areas of the Mojave. Overall, very mixed feelings.

It feels wrong being able to play a generic mage in any game making use of LOTR setting. There should only be Gandalf and his four friends doing that. The Elves have some magic power, but it's not like they can toss around fireballs and lightning bolts either.

Does it play like Demon Stone?

I wish there was a "neutral" path in the game where Geralt would work with the Nilfgaard ambassador. Nilfgaard occupying the North is ultimately, the best choice. Since the Space Invaders are going to invade and "Winter is coming!!!11!!", it would prevent a lot of chaos and spare a lot of lives in the long run. Not to mention, the key to beating the Space Invaders is in Nilfgaard.

Maybe like in Prince of Persia or Tomb Raider? Even Risen has it. The ladder stuff is stupid. Divinity II uses ladders and also runs on Gamebryo.

Perfect Dark Zero? Too much Doom, not enough Hitman. And absolutely zero space. I could swear there was a Moonraker-like level in PDZ, but maybe I'm confusing with NOLF.

Rare armour & weapons is one of the things I miss in TW2. Legendary items like Aerondight, Rune sihil, Moonblade & Raven's armour are barely better than the items you start with if you don't import a save. A generic Temerian sword you can buy in Flotsam is probably already better than the Rune sihil. It messes up the lore and setting, and makes it painfully clear that the game is nothing more than a glorified action game. Want more damage? -> buy bigger sword!

It wasn't really about dying, but more about suddenly ending up in a bad action game boss fight.

I had Geralt spouting "I'm getting too old for this" during the kayran fight. It was very applicable.

It looks okay, but unfortunately Alice: Madness Returns comes out on the same day and I'll be getting that title on release. So I'll wait a bit with this one.
