He pulled off a similar trick in Ilium/Olympos.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Harvey Smith is a former Air Force guy that was stationed somewhere in Germany. I think he can beat up the average civilian (and game designer), provided he had some combat training.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Bah, I always exorcized her.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Supernatural powers? Murdered Empress? I wouldn't be surprised if Arkane again will put a chick inside the protagonist's head as some (incredibly annoying) talking quest compass.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
I didn't realize this game had a 18th century setting. That does indeed quite raise my interest.- Books you hate
It's rather Eddings who writes the same story over and over again, with the same characters included. Feist at least managed to craft an interesting world in Riftwar (two, actually) with one being medieval low-magic (magic being very rare) and the other one more the typical high fantasy with fantastical creatures and what not. The clash between these two worlds in Riftwar (first series) was pretty interesting. He had the political intrigue down pretty good as well. Another thing Feist generally does really well is describing large scale battles, especially sieges. It's all downhill after Riftwar, though, where the series quickly devolves into parody territory. I managed to trudge through Serpentwar but stopped after that.- Books you hate
Eug?nie Grandet. An incredibly boring story combined with 19th century literary French = hell. EDIT: lulz, the forum doesn't recognize an "accent aigu"?- HBO's Game of Thrones
Both books feature verbose writing style, focus on in-depth characterisation and endless chapters delving into the mind of characters you wish would die in a fire?- HBO's Game of Thrones
A Song of Ice and Fire really is so popular because it's a soap-opera with swords. It's a dark & gritty version of the light-hearted Wheel of Time. Writers like Michael Moor**** & Glen Cook have been around for ages, trying to deconstruct common fantasy tropes, but nobody ever really gave a fudge about their books. Even Erikson is not all that popular, all things considered.- STEAM!
Is Last Remnant any good? It's up for 7.49?.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Probably a reference to the Saerileth mod 15-year old romanceable Paladin of Tyr, yeeeaaahhhh- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!

Zero Critical, their Star Trek games, WET and Hunted: the Demon's Forge aren't crap.- STEAM!
Anniversary is worth picking up, Legend & Underworld are painfully mediocre. Also, Audiosurf is great if you're planning on ruining your keyboard.- Mass Effect 3
In that case, Stalker & CoD: Modern Warfare must be RPGs, and more complex ones at that.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Meh. I'm only interested in Arx Fatalis 2 or Dark Messiah 2 from Arkane.- The new and improved Indie thread
Isn't Age of Decadence supposed to be released in November?- Mass Effect 3

I still think the Reapers are going to be beaten by having a virus implanted from a Macintosh.- Deus Ex 3
