  1. If the Witcher 2 had kept its predecessor's emphasis on Geralt's personal storyline maybe it wouldn't have managed to bore me to death. Yennefer was name-dropped a couple of times, but just as a side-effect of introducing the Wild Hunt as Ancient Evil.
  2. Trent will be busy enough with Planetscape Tournament remake and sequel, I wager.
  3. Started playing the Amazing Spider-Man. As expected, it's much better than Arkham City. Playing with a fast and agile character is so much more satisfying than trying to steer a cement truck. And all the better if he's a wise-cracking smart-alec rather than a brooding bore. If the Black Cat turns out to be playable even for five minutes, Arkham City can be relegated to the dustbin entirely.
  4. Funny detail is that in Dune Messiah Alia is 15 years old. This was obviously changed in the series for the American audience.
  5. I hated that series, pretty much everyone was miscast.
  6. It gets only worse from there on. Which Dune? The movie or that mini-series? The mini-series was slightly better than the film but the film had Sting in green plastic undies, so it's kind of a toss up. The David Lynch movie, as an adaptation it made my brain scream but it wasn't the worst film I've ever seen, the visuals kept me watching at least...Sting not included Lynch did manage to capture the atmosphere of Dune universe pretty well, despite the many changes, so I found the movie pretty palatable overall. And some book parts were executed to perfection.
  7. And five minutes later Geralt bangs the barmaid in the abandoned mill.
  8. I'd say you're not burned out if you're still playing Skyrim. How many times can you dive the same* dungeon for random loot without feeling burned out? It's not like the combat system is actually "fun," so what's the appeal? I shouldn't say this on a game developer's gaming board in a "what are you playing" thread, but why not read a book, or learn some fringe hobby like sailing (admittedly, if you went to Yale or live on 5th avenue in Manhattan you probably have a few Yachts already,) or survival training (not like hoarding guns, but learning to be like Les Stroud,) or practice archery in real life (if that appeals to you,) maybe even put in some overtime if employed? Sure it's "less fun" than Skyrim, but if you're really burnt out you might as well do something else that will reset the metaphorical cooldown on gaming burnout. *Yes, the geometric layout is different, but in the end, aren't they all the same, even taking into account the 4 different "tilesets"?
  9. http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C64_Direct-to-TV Closest I can think of.
  10. Still playing Dragonborn, I guess. Kind of burned out of gaming atm.
  11. I'd rather go visit the Drink Champagne from Navel Bar.
  12. Had one of the most embarrassing evenings in my life.
  13. Funny how the first chapter of both TW1 and TW2 end with a ludicrously badly designed boss fight.
  14. At least they're not making money off abandonware. :slight trollface:
  15. What happens in Vegas, should stay in Vegas.
  16. It's disconcerting how ugly and bland Skyrim looks without a ENB/texture/lighting mod.
  17. IIRC it's easy as pie Altair -> defensive skills (except when he's alone against multiple Orc enemies) Styx -> offensive skills (that skill that boosts his critical chance upgraded with +50% dodge is game breaking especially combined with multi-dagger skill) I hear you, I stared getting the hang if it but still found I had split my points too evenly between attack and defense so I wasn't effective in either. This became apparent in certain fights, like against the Shaman. I was about 10 hours into the game. Also every level seemed the same from a gameplay perspective. A linear path from A to B with the same types of monsters just in different size groups...goblin, dogs or humans . I may install it again, but I doubt it I agree level design and stealth mechanics are... rudimentary, but one needs to take into account this game was developed on a shoestring budget (even compared to Game of Thrones from same developer), still setting, combat and characters ultimately were good enough to make the game worth buying on release. I really would not mind a sequel.
  18. So does the story finally make a lick of sense after 5,000 DLCs?
  19. You mean beer pressure?
  20. IIRC it's easy as pie Altair -> defensive skills (except when he's alone against multiple Orc enemies) Styx -> offensive skills (that skill that boosts his critical chance upgraded with +50% dodge is game breaking especially combined with multi-dagger skill)
  21. Maybe I'll try Sleeping Hogs. I should try to finish some Steam vehicles I foolishly picked up a few months back. Kill them all and let God sort them out.

  23. So it's a toaster with a lot of RAM... but still a toaster.
  24. My iPad likely has better hardware already than these "next-gen" toasters.
