I don't know is the honest answer. I'll see if there's a demo. If it veers back to DA:O territory enough then perhaps.

The Case for Romance.

The antimancers or whatever idiot name they have for themselves are still trolling so I guess so. IRONY DETECTED MISTER ROBINSON! -

Just about. The Promancers are the the final phase of denial / hardcore resistance. A few of them are making like Japanese soldiers on remote Pacific atolls, refusing the believe the war is over. -
what is your worst rpg game ever played?
Monte Carlo replied to darthdraken's topic in Computer and Console
I followed the whole NWN1 dev cycle and lapped up the hyperbole. It's the primary reason I loathe Bioware. -

NWN1 should be roughly thrown in a ditch and bayoneted to death. Hell, there are loads of crap RPGs. But NWN1 is special because of its heritage. It's like Leonardo followed up the Mona Lisa with a finger-painting made from his own bodily emissions. -
I don't even know who Garrus is but I know Shepherd is from Mass Effect. The only Bio game I've played since NWN1 has been Dragon Age: Origins. I don't see NWN2 as a Bio game.

The po-faced humourlessness of the promancers is a consistent feature - I of course except people like Bruce who 'gets it.' And when did trolling become 'something I don't agree with?' -
Am bored of superhero movies.

Have been off work with a horrible illness. The meds are something else. Have been deeply into 'Naked Lunch' territory. Even more bizarre, due to biblical flooding, the cellar of my house is flooding. The prisoners down there are getting wet. Bwahahahahahaha.

Meanwhile, in Kiev...

Have fun hiding in your basement in loneliness and terror until they run out. Unless, of course, the apocalypse happens while you're not at home. On the rare occasions I leave the compound, I do so with a bug-out kit.

No romances confirmed
Monte Carlo replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Dude, seriously. Five posts. You haven't read the arguments. You've missed the point. I don't want a romance so I don't want NPC interaction. Right up there with I don't like bananas so I don't want an omelette. Oh, and... -
Animal companions

Maybe it's the very powerful meds I'm on right now, but the bio-fungal attack companion option is bitchin' -

Unless you mean raptor as in hunting hawk etc. -

^ SoZ had one, it was very cool for the tribal ranger character that owned it. -
The apocalypse can't come quick enough. Then I'll laugh at the people who think my collection of hunting rifles and tinned food is eccentric.

Ludicrous hyperbole aside, Nep, you might have an inkling of a point.

The Case for Romance.

I'm only half-joking, Flintlock. SoZ did have it. Was fun. Wouldn't work in PoE but it would be a groovy RPG. Elements of JA2, perhaps. But, like romances, not everyone's cup of tea. -
I have to wonder if there's a silent majority-sort-of customer who finds this cosplay, sexualised, fandom aspect of the Dragon Age franchise slightly obsessive and off-putting? A genuine question. It can't just be me. I see other games with cosplay, Diablo 3 springs to mind, where the participants are clearly just having a lot of over the top fun. There's a sort of tongue-in-cheek irony to it. Almost infectious, even. I can see the appeal. But the Dragon Age / Bioware types seem to serious. So earnest. So needy. So... strange.

Do we know what the animal companions for rangers are yet? Given their melee focus I presume they'll be fairly big (a wolf, for example), plus I suppose you don't want to get eye-strain looking for your scorpion animal companion, 1 x 1 pixel big. Having said all that, can we have some unusual / exotic ranger pets? How about a flightless bird? (ever seen an Ostrich kick someone, wow they're vicious). Or a giant porcupine that fires quills? Or even, if you want to get really exotic, a sort of myconid or bio-vegetable companion. Could a God-like ranger be able to have a sort of spectral companion, animals imbued with souls? I hope you get my drift. Just not the usual panther / wolf trope. Edit - this was inspired by the musketeer / chicken picture in the weapons and armour thread. I just think taking a stiletto to tropes is cool - my conquistador / ranger with a long wheel-lock running around with a loyal attack-ostrich is where I need to go with this. So is a creepy godlike ranger with a soul-infused attack mushroom. Cheers MC

Bruce, that's a lovely offer mate. Can it wait until my birthday?

The Case for Romance.

Hey, I just thought of something! I want a really crunchy strategic trading / overland map dynamic just like SoZ. Loads of us like strategy, it doesn't matter if it wasn't really part of the initial KS pitch... and hey how much work can it be! Screw the plot and extraneous content like that... I want to see little wagons full of wood and iron rumbling around the map so I can upgrade my castle and trading posts. If you tell me I can't have it I'll spend thousands of words arguing how important it is to my immersion and how resource overlays and strategy have added so much to other games. Rome Total War was, er, an RPG because I say so and in my head I really need to be an Imperator of Rome! Resource and trading overlay. Won't take much by way of resources and, hey, I know you game devs work for peanuts and pull stuff like that from behind the sofa... I want a resource overlay. Now. Guess where you can swap that out for the 'R' word?
