  1. No, my bad i'm in boulder city, i did the novac quest. It's driving me nuts, I'd rather there was no mini-map but solid clues where to go, i'm going round in circles and can't progress the critical path. NCR guy suggested i waited 'til dark, which i have. Then.... nothing.
  2. OK now i'm actually getting bored with the minimap and quest location. I'm at novac. I have two quests concerning the GreaT Khans. I can't find either of them and the NCR officer is the person who the navigation keeps taking me to. It's very frustrating.
  3. Of course they do, in the same way that Bioware fans want emo-romance simulators with pointy ears and fakespeare. OTOH what's wrong with a PA FPS game? Nothing, it would be awesome. After all, Fallout: Tactics was awesome. Using a setting for different genres is fine as long as you are up-front about it (::cough:: McBio ::cough: and not pretend that your new product is in fact an evolution as opposed to a cross-genre spinoff.
  4. The art direction in DA1 was just on the right side of meh in some respects and better in others, the clothing was awful, the armour not so bad. It did however, have awesome tunnels you could fight in, half-decent graphics, and loads of ways to eviscerate your opponents. This mitigated the soppy NPCs but if you went for Sten, the Dog and the Golem it wasn't too bad at all. DA2 is an actiony, cartoony console game with JRPG-influenced art direction for Da Kidz. It's RPG lite. It's a step away from DA1, which was ironic given the McBio was just beginning to redeem itself. Oh well, it will shift lots of units.
  5. Do you mean the Pool of Radiance PoS from 2001? Or was there another bug in ToEE I missed?
  6. I do have the crazy 5.56mm revolver (!!!) called 'That Gun' or something, which is a great close quarters weapon but what's the story behind that? Thanks for all the other answers.
  7. I'm level 8, just finished the Come Fly With Me quest and am heading North of Novac to Boulder City. I am a sneak + guns character with insanely high LUCK. All I want is a freaking scope for my hunting rifle (finally found one). Where is there one for sale?
  8. That's it, I'm never going to try Airsoft in case the other side are all disturbed combat veterans dealing with their 'issues.' Oh, that and because dressing up as soldiers and giving your team names like '12th Special Combat Recce Commando' is a bit silly.
  9. It's what makes us special, hopefully nobody will mention the Happy Meal again in this thread.
  10. Is mayo a sauce or a condiment?
  11. Whaddya mean? Nazi Bitch was hot.
  12. Wow, I did the test and I got the rare "short order chef" class. Pretty rubbish at fighting in tunnels but I have the powa to cook eggs twelve different ways.
  13. Calax, stick with plumbing or electrical stuff, there is always work in these fields and there is a world recession on. Undertaking and anything to do with tax avoidance are also safe bets. Esoteric, where-did-we-come-from studies ain't going to pay the rent.
  14. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom has the Chinese nightclub scene and the Anglo-Indian Army saving the day. It has the scene with the strange dinner party. It has the mine chase scene. It has Kate Capshaw in silk pyjamas. It owns the newest movie so completely it's not even funny. This is more fun than talking about McBio's new Happy Meal.
  15. And, in other news, apples taste different from oranges. Spain is very big, Portugal ain't.
  16. ^ Do a quick bit of economic analysis of 'The Siesta' economies versus the 'People who don't have a bottle of vino and a nap in the middle of the day' economies.
  17. I like Spain. A lot. But I can't visit anymore because of the bloody siestas. This Northern European cannot sleep all afternoon, go back to work for a couple of hours then have dinner at midnight. Not anymore. And why do they have siestas in February when it's snowing?
  18. :: shrugs :: It's a console game, that's how they roll.
  19. Humaoid beat me to it, but I think the 1970's as a decade were definitely built out of the same twenty concrete wall tiles.
  20. China is interesting. A decaying, corrupt Communist autocracy goes capitalist yet manages to retain the internal discipline and party machine to keep the whole ship running ruthlessly towards epic growth. But. With prosperity comes tension. Propserity brings with it the ghost in the machine of freedom and democracy. That is the very thing that will form the seed of China's economic destruction as it currently stands. The place is going to turn into a post-post-modern corporate bordello in the next fifty years, with interesting (to say the least) consequences for the region and indeed the world.
  21. I like Glasgow more than Edinburgh, actually. Edinburgh is so pleased with itself, I'm not sure why. Glasgow, on the other hand, is fabulous. Go to Hillhead, enjoy the architecture then have a curry.
  22. I've not played ME, but the guys who have ID'd the weapon as being from the ME universe. So, unless they're recycling art assets for a new IP (extremely unlikely) then I suspect it's ME-themed. Actually, despite my animus towards McBio, I think (seriously) they'd make a pretty good MP / MMO type game out of Mass Effect even if it did turn into a wierd emo space-opera-dating-site type affair.
  23. Nah, we should just all bend over and let you and boo ream us. There's a Bioware faction here ? Sweet. I'm in the "if you don't care for company Xs games, stop posting in them." I was given this friendly piece of advice by mkreku once, and I've followed it ever since. Apparently some people consider themselves above this. The only company I feel like I owe any kind of loyalty is Obsidian, as I spend way too much time on forums sponsored by them. Bioware has failed me in the past (NWN, especially), but since we know **** all about this new product I find the broken record guys tuning up their bash-chestra to be more than a little tiresome. There are always new, interesting and perfectly valid ways to bash Bio.
  24. No the look is wrong.
  25. Bioware Thread. Mmmmmm. :: Rubs hands together :: I badly want to see Bioware do a FPS, just to see how they shoehorn romances into it.
