Alrighty. I just made it through the Snyder Cut (credits are running right now). First things first: The only thing I remember from watching the original is the feeling of emptiness and disappointment. Everything else is basically wiped from my memory. That being said .... man, this movie was *so much better* than I expected. Crazy what you can achieve if you give your characters room to breath and develop their story. With very few exceptions I found none of the scenes wasted. Everything fit together nicely. Honestly, I don't really have much to complain about at this point. Did not fall asleep at 3/4 of it, which is a pretty big deal considering my track record with super hero movies. At this point I'd even go so far to say something super controversial ........ I liked it more than Avengers Endgame. Primarily because I *hated* the final CGI battle in Endgame. Marvel tried to throw every character they had into it, which resulted in everyone systemically getting 1 or 2 scenes and then you'd never hear of them ever again. With the 5 1/2 main characters in Justice League, this is never a problem. Needed to get used to the 4:3 screen resolution at first, but later didn't even notice it anymore. Weird decision, but ok. There is only one question I have right now.. After the ending.. That's all my thoughts about it for now.

The Justice League Snyder Cut is out today. Originally wanted to wait till weekend, but I'm probably going to dive into it this evening.

Damn, I really wouldn't mind playing this .... but I just don't have the time to sink into it.
-
That's for reminding me that I'm Han Solo.
-
Well, now that is a very shallow comparison.

Yes, Gothic 3 also wasn't that great. However, Gothic 4 is topping it in every area and if I remember right, the G3 addon wasn't even finished. The community had to finish it with like a million patches.
-
I never connected Gothic with a Bethsoft game. The gameplay is just way too different. Also yes, remember the last Gothic game that wasn't made by PB .... hint: It sucked ass. Gothic 4 was a joke. Oh, and that time they hired some indian studio to make an addon for Gothic 3 .... hilariously bad.

The demo was just godawful. All the ughs, and aghs, and the character couldn't stop talking to himself. The QTE combat scenes, the forced action ... it's was just bad, and I don't see how this can be improved without completely rewriting it.

Age restrictions is a thing in germany. Although the game was rated 12 and I was much older than that at the time. All in all it was just a really weird experience.

I think the loading screens are just the game world that is trying to keep up with the fast travel speed. Basically the world streaming is too slow.

Things were different back then. I just remembered the day I bought Gothic 1 in a shopping mall. The cashier looked at the box and then at me as if I was buying things made by Satan.

Gothic 1 and 2 are half of my childhood. Probably the RPGs I've played the most right after Fallout.

Damn, I'm shaking like hell right now. My upstairs neighbors were yelling again, nothing new, happens at least once per week. But then screaming started and it got quite unpleasant. Was rushing to put my pants on, couldn't find any socks, though. Went outside to the floor and was thinking should I go up or call the police or whatever, I have no idea. In that moment another neighbor came and opened the door loud (didn't noticed what was going on), then the yelling from above stopped. Sitting here now, typing this **** down. It's crazy.

Don't agree. Last time I played it (I think a year ago), I still loved the hell out of it. I checked out the demo of that remake and it was horrid. Unless they changed almost all of it, I will never going to touch it.

I'm not that big into these DC shows, so I can't really compare, but it is pretty violent, comes with swearing, and there is some random sexiness thrown in as well, etc. so this really is not a show for kids even though it looks like that at first. So far it basically deals with the emancipation of Harley Quinn. Dunno how it will continue, but I gotta say that Poison Ivy is dang hot. Kinda reminds me of the Kim Possibly stuff from 20 years ago. They make lots of jokes on superhero stuff and the villains and it does not seem to take itself super serious. So if one expects some super realistic grimdark show ... nah, that isn't it.

Started watch the Harley Quinn show. Done with the first 3 episodes and it's pretty good so far.

I watched this video today and decided it was more than enough Valheim for me. Not gonna dive into this game. -
Yeah, it goes into that direction. However, I haven't seen the Goonies in ages and my memories of it are faded.

Watched Finding 'Ohana on Netflix yesterday. An island, a treasure, some pirates, ... Was not bad. Didn't see a single hula girl trope. Ending is a bit cheesy, but was to be expected, tbh. Kinda reminds me of these 90s adventure movies. Also, dang, Hawaiians are hot. Truth told, I only watched the movie because of Lindsay Watson (and the hopes of some 90s adventure movie nostalgia).

So I picked up Assassins Creed Origins again, because I wanted to check out how they did their deserts and stuff. Played it for roughly 5 hours now. The game world really looks fantastic. They did an amazing job with it. But the gameplay is so god damn boring, oh god. -
Weird, random, interesting - now with 100% less diacriticals

It could have worked if they wouldn't have tried to make it a huge series, because obviously they weren't able to get a good amount of quality content together and instead just hamfisted whatever little bits they could get their hands on. Releasing new episodes took them them longer and longer, and the episodes just became more and more stupid up to the point where it felt like they misrepresented elements in games just to reinforce their agenda. IMO they should have just not tried to do it this big. Smaller in scope and a higher quality would probably have caused less rage. /Edit: It's been too long and I barely remember the details, but I wondered if they covered positive elements in games or if they were just crapping on everything? Tried to google it right now, but can't find anything related to that. /Edit2: Just checked into a few videos at random and skipped arond a bit. It's so preachy and condescending, ugh. No wonder there was so much road rage. Kinda happy this whole thing is pretty much over now and we don't have to read about it anymore every day. -

Yeah, she was riding pretty hard on how mean gamers are to her. -

I'm certainly not right leaning, but I also loath the whole Anita Sarkessiaan crap. Her videos were garbage, and this whole victim-game of her and others like her was infuriating. I'm not against feminism or similar things, like, at all, but what people like Anita Sarkessiaan did was just trying to weasel money out of other peoples pockets and riding the "look, I am so famous and they hate me for being different!"-wave. I'd say these people did more to hurt feminist movements with their crowbar- and victim-approach than gamers ever could. -
Well, that was mostly about Stardust Crusaders and less about the early stuff.

Jojo felt real weird to me at first, but I kept running with it, because it had such a weird atmosphere and style. Stardust Crusaders later lost me after a few episodes, because it's such a huge difference to "the original" show. After picking it up again some months later however it kinda clicked with me and I started to really like it. Have to see it like this: All the characters are absolute Chads, and they will always win. It's the *how* that it is all about, though. Also you just have to accept that it is quite wacky. Sucks that Netflix doesn't have the followup stuff (yet?). /Edit: oh wow, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is on Netflix now, though. Gonna add that to my list right away.
