Politics... US election edition (2020 almost over, read all about it!)
Lexx replied to Gorth's topic in Way Off-Topic
I have a hard time seeing this as an attempted coup ... because if that was, then this must have been the dumbest attempt at a coup ever. Like, man, you gotta seize media centers and military bases and other important infrastructure ... trying to hold capitol hill is figuratively just a hill to die on. This is pure, lazy dumbness. -
I also rewatched some Buffy a few months ago. Honestly, it's still pretty good most of the time. Just the fighting scenes didn't age really well ...
-
I take anything, as long as it doesn't look like a soap opera.

What's the other good things I can watch right now? Having to wait a week between all the Expanse drives me crazy. I need distractions. Still rewatching Rick and Morty in the meantime. Honestly, it's still pretty good, even on a second go. Actually it might even be better now, because I notice more details.

I watched the first two episodes. Feels like I already know where this is going ... Today I'll watch the new Expanse, so maybe I will continue with Cobra Kai tomorrow. We'll see... Oh, I also started watching Inuyashiki, because I thought why not. So far quite interesting. Will see if this follows up like every other anime and gets boring later or if it will keep me entertained till the end.

Just finished Disco Elysium. It's probably the best written game I've played in years. Was very impressed lots of times. The middle part was a bit boring, because the game made you run around a lot, and also started throwing lots of exposition around. However, it got better again to the end. Making this game must have been an incredible amount of work.

Some very questionable rankings there. About Mr. Robot ... I thought the 1st season was ok. The 2nd season was already a bit meh... started the 3rd season but never finished it. For some reason this show just bores the hell out of me.

tbh some of the mentioned ideas in that thread sound like development hell to me. I know it sucks, but some ideas need to be cut down. Thought the point about Bloodlines was a bit funny, because we all know how that one turned out.

That link doesn't work. : >

I posted my reply and later decided to add the post I'm replying to as a quote. So I did what I usually do on a forum ... hit reply with quote on the post, then copy&paste the quote from that new (unposted) post into my existing post. However, this fancy forum here doesn't like if someone tries to copy&paste these crappy quote blocks. Not trying to derail this thread further, but the same and worse will happen with spoiler tags, just that you won't be able to edit the post content anymore at all.

1 hour ago, Melusina said: I personally dislike high difficulties, but people think they are fun. Difficulty isn't fun. Depends on how fair the difficulty is, imo. A game can be difficult and still fair (Dark Souls, etc) or it can be difficult and just frustrating (usually high difficulty in any RTS game, which usually just means the ai will cheat more). /Edit: This forums quote functions are just such a god damn pain in the arse. This is a good example of difficulty that is unfair and unfun.

I only got through the first episode before I stopped.
-
Damn, this is exactly what I feared would happen since s2 happened ... real shame.
-
Yeah, I'm going to watch it in 2 or so days / once I'm back home. Hope they will go back to the roots of season 1, at least a bit.

It's save to say that I loath the weekly release of the new Expanse season. Every episode feels so short to me, even though the playtime is the same as before. Also I had to unsubscribe from every Expanse thing that I was following, because it is impossible to avoid spoilers. And I agree that the flaws become more noticeable now that you can't just binge the season... really annoying. Probably going to rewatch the whole season again once it is finished in february. Though I hope it will work out motivation-wise, becaues I think some of the scenes so far are a bit long and... boring? Like pointed out a bit further above Without crapping on it in general, because I'm still a big fan, but that's kinda underwhelming and feels like a waste of important playtime. I mean, we are already at the half of season 5 and so far nothing really happened except for the thing we already knew would happen?
-
My problem with it is that we seemlingly get into Game of Thrones territory where every storyline gets 5 minutes of playtime and that's it for todays episode.

I don't give a crap about CDPR, I didn't even play Cyberpunk. I'm just annoyed by the lame memes about it every day.
-
Wait.... so this monolith in the desert thing was a "KFC console" advert all the time?

Meh, the video is quite misleading. First he didn't make Cyberpunk 2077 in 24 hours. He made a raw sandbox. No quests, no dialog, not story, etc. Second, he uses lots of presets and template system from other sources and just assembles them. I mean, give me all the necessary systems and I can also cobble you together the next Ubisoft game in a weekend or so. Really no big deal ... the deal is to actually make these systems yourself. Story looks a lot different then. Kinda tired of people constantly ****ting on the game with their lame memes. Sadly the way the internet works, we won't be spared of that for at least the next couple of months if not years.

Sure, amount of episodes, but they don't all have the same length.
-
At least the first episode is pretty much a copy of a "lightweight" Cube, though. Anyways, first episode made me realize that this show is very likely not for me. Hey, but at least I tried, I guess. Don't really know what to watch right now. So I restarted Rick and Morty, and to my surprise it still holds up, even when rewatching it. Guess that means it's a good show. Also started watching this Big Mouth. Made it through season 1 - it's actually not that bad, but I Probably would like it more if I were like 15 years younger, dunno. It has some seriously gross moments, though.
-
I barely made it through the first episode. Could never stop thinking about this being a cube / hunger games clone.
-
Well I don't agree with that statement at all. : >

Bethsoft releases buggy games constantly and the sales don't care.
