  1. Wow that does sound bad but at least you are very proficient in English so you and other German fans can still play in English? Or would you only play the game in German? I play all games in English nowadays, unless they were made in German, like e.g. Risen or the Gothic games. But it's bad for anyone who isn't speaking English very well. My experience is that even AAA+ titles usually have a not so good translation, which is why I am jumping right into the English original.
  2. So, reports from german players are comming in, and they say that the german translation is horrible. Like, extremely horrible. Missing strings, which results in companions not being recruitable or quests being unable to complete, strings that are wrongly translated (not just wrong words, but partly even 1:1 from english to german), strings are not making any sense, etc. Especially everything after Arizona is apparently very shallow and bad. Long story short, if you are into english, then Wasteland 2 should not be played in any of the fan translation languages. InXile said they had professional translators reading over it in the end, no? Either it didn't happened or they've been very sloppy as well.
  3. Hahaha, this is like "if you are retarded, clap your hands!"
  4. Heh, I just noticed how much free time everyone from us has. 12 hours, that's kinda madness, man. :>
  5. Yeah, had pretty much the same thought. When it comes to map design, LA is far superior to Arizona so far, imo. It doesn't feel like I am guided through tunnels all the time. Also I like the visual style quite a lot.
  6. What I found out is that LA is full of religious nutjobs, and currently I feel like it would be the best thing to just exterminate them all. It surely is a city full of sinners, and every group thinks themself to be more godly than the other.
  7. Not exactly my smartest idea:
  8. Beta had faster leveling, though. I've finished Arizona approx at lvl 20. Though, I kinda rushed through everything a bit, only did the obvious dungeons, etc.
  9. Shrines don't give attribute points anymore, only xp. With the skillchecks in Arizona you are right, but in LA I've got many now where I am not even close to. had speech checks with lvl 10 already, while the highest of my folks was 7. So it does get up a little more later.
  10. On the other hand, they released the sources, so anyone can pick it up and modify the game in whatever way they want to.
  11. Yeah. Luckily I could recover one partition already with most of the stuff being back now. Working on the second partition, but this one has quite a lot missing stuff already. Though, it looks like I can get the most important files back. After this is done, I'll just have my third partition left to do.... it's the least important one, so let's hope for the best. In any case I probably won't be playing Wasteland 2 today... bleh. Also my Fallout New Vegas mod collection is gone, which hurts a bit too, because I used lots of custom mini-tweaks that I never uploaded anywhere.
  12. Yes, some of the recruitable party members need x amount of *group* charisma.
  13. I had backups, but a few weeks ago my backup server went belly up. I was about to make new backups when this shait happened now.
  14. I am just surprised that this thing is still going on.
  15. Noticed that I somehow accidentally deleted huge parts of my hdd. Which means that I am trying to recover files right now... Lots of stuff is lost, lots of important stuff... I could cry right now. I just wanted to play games the full day, because tomorrow I am working again. And now this. God, please help me.
  16. Is so very very annoying. Once you get more comfortable with the controls you shouldn't have this problem. I've been playing most of the day, and haven't had this issue a single time. Steam tells me I played the game for 70 hours already (incl. beta time) and yet I still do this occasionally. :D
  17. Indeed. Metacritic is the best website. /Edit: The other 10/10 "critics" are at least as bad. These folks honestly can't have finished the game yet. They know nothing about the whole story, yet you get a truckton of "amazing plot" and whatnot. ---------- Finished Ag Center now and moved to Rail Nomads. Kinda rushing through the beginning, as I finally want to see the LA part. This obviously shows the huge drawback of beta access: For me it feels tedious now to play through the beginning once again. Would have chosen Highpool instead, because it is faster, but I wanted to have Rose in my team...
  18. Back from my last date with the doc. All is fine, will be working again next week. Woo. Let's never break a bone again.
  19. Downloading now too. Steam was making lotsa problems though. Hope it will download without any other troubles now. From beta to full there is a 9gb download for me. /Edit: Aaaand it stopped downloading. Oh well. :>
  20. Tried the Dragonfall DC for a few minutes. Combat feels interesting- the flanking is a nice adition, I have no idea what all the other stuff is, though (armor?). Also the new ui is good. I hate that original ui so much, because it was a crazy clickfest.
  21. Indeed, would've been possible for me too. Had some good luck, though: After my 2 weeks of vacation my boss started her 5 weeks of vacation, so in this time not much happened. Then it was planned for me to be on sick leave only for 1 more week, so it would be stupid to look for someone new. Of course the doc added a few more weeks after that... but then it wasn't really worth it anymore to replace me. Beside this, it is not exactly easy to find someone for this kind of job (it is logistic with a very short schedule time. We pretty much manage medical delieveries from today to tomorrow and they already tried for a while to find a new co-worker. The job can be very stressful at times). Also it requires at least 1 month of training until you can *really* start to work on your own. I was working on my own already after approx 2 weeks, as I am a fast learner. :> All of this helped me to keep the job, and I am happy about it. It's good pay and I actually like the job. It's the best job I've had in the past 7 years. Loosing it probably would have pushed me right back into depression-town. @E-Bikes: Maybe they only cycle for the chilling & landscape and less for sports? Though, I've also seen only old people with E-Bikes so far.
  22. What, is it out already? I thought the release was 19th.
  23. Well, that Breitband article *is* pretty stupid.
  24. Is that good or bad?
  25. First 2 weeks was regular holidays. Then I had a normal plastic cast for 2 weeks- here they then noticed that the fracture got worse and I'll need to have the medical intervention or my finger bones might rotate and become out of alignment. After the operation happened I got a cast for another full 3 weeks. The doctor said it is a very instable fracture and then I had additional 3 weeks to recover: Gaining back the ability to move my fingers, make a fist, etc. It took me approx 1 week to reach this, since then I am pretty much just training to move my fingers + waiting for the swell to get away. I am an office clerk who writes a lot through the day and I am right hander, so obviously I was unable to do pretty much anything. I couldn't even work with telephone only, because I'll have to make notes all the time. I mean, I *could* do this with only the left hand too, but it would be really slow and tedious over the day. So yeah, it's better (and less painful) to let the hand heal correctly in my case. Rule of thumb: Better don't break your hand. It's not worth it, because in all of the free time you can do only little anyway. Well, except if you love to watch tv or such things. /Edit: The only good thing was that it is really, really easy to get into a talk with girls if you have a huge cast around your hand. It looks painful and pretty much everyone approached me because of it.
