Looks like Life is Strange 2 is finally out completely. Guess I could check it out then.

What are you playing now: The New Thread
There's special buildings already on the map, which you deliver resouces to. Unlike bridges, etc. you can't place them down yourself. To be honest, I find this a tad annoying. But once you have a full highway, going around and delivering stuff becomes so much faster / easier ....

^ like as many player build structures as possible. The game "connects" you with these players, so the more likes you give, the more likely player structures will appear in your game. I've build about 3 or 4 road pieces only, but have an almost full highway available.

BattleTech
Somewhere in between I felt like watching the intro of a very cheesy 80s tv show.

Regarding driving on rocks: You can lift the front wheel when pulling back the left analog stick. This way you can get past lots of obstacles. Also the jump-button is useful (works even in the truck later).

BattleTech
Started playing again, because of the new DLC and mechs, etc... Cool so far. What I find funny is how Battletech itself (without realizing it?) makes a point about how clearly mechs are inferior to tanks. As soon as you're fighting a bunch of heavy armor, you really have to start taking care of your mechs, because they will get shredded. Tanks are plenty, annoying, tiny, fast, you have to aim-fire if you want to take them down quickly... They are barely a fraction of the size of a mech, much easier on the tech-side and likely much, much cheaper as well. So going by that... what's the point of fielding mechs? Might as well just load your dropship full with a battalion or two of tanks. 😆

Ugh, don't remind me of how ****ty Wolfenstein became... 😕 I fear the same treatment would happen to a new Dishonored game at this point.

That's where the pretty landscape and music comes into play. : > Though I understand that that's not for everyone.

Josh Sawyer on why modern Obsidian plays it safe
Pretty sure the "playing it safe" was more about the kind of quests and their complexity and not the games setting. And yeah, later Oblivion games don't feel as "free" anymore as before. Just check out all the permutations in Beyond the Beef, which Sawyer pointed out. This quest is BIG with lots of different options. I have yet to see anything like that in the Outer Worlds. It's exactly how he says... risky quest, very bug-prone, can cost you lots of (development) time. So instead you go with "the usual quest formula", which maybe has some choices and different consequences, but is never super complicated at its core.

Eh, couldn't care less about the multiplayer part. It probably won't be great anyway and quickly forgotten.

Just take a different route? 😆 It's what I do, it's what the game probably wants you to do. As far as I am aware, you can walk around most of that stuff. Personally I loved the early game way more than the late game. You have to manage your carry weight, your route to take, and you need to take care not to drop anything. As soon as you get the truck, it'll change... you just load it full and call it a day. Then it *really* is only drive from a to b, which takes a lot away from the game, imo. (Though luckily there are still valid "walking"-options, via exoskeleton and hooverthingy, etc which are more fun).

Half-Life 3 sorta announced
So I was thinking the game will never look like the trailer on my PC. But then I thought... it's still Source engine, right? It looks better, but only because of high-res models and textures. So maybe it actually won't be that performance hungry... Kinda tensed now. I'm very likely going to buy this.

So you're saying it actually doesn't matter to you, because you won't be playing it? 😆

I'm pretty sure there were hands in HL1/2.

The reason is that it looks better in VR. Which is what this game is made for. VR. Most VR people only have the handheld controllers and not full body motion tracking. Sure you can animate arms based on the controller positions, but it's really not the same - pretty bad guessing half the time. So better to just not have the arms an be done with it. When playing in VR you won't notice it anyway.

Looks pretty good to me. Doubt my PC will be able to run it well.

Half-Life 3 sorta announced
This thing is made with VR in mind... If they port it, it probably won't be good. It's not the same as porting a console game to pc.

TV and Streaming: The Thread
I tried continuing with season 3 of the man in the high castle today. For some reason the show really lost me... I just find it boring at this point.

TV and Streaming: The Thread
One thing I was thinking about when watching the first episode is how it reminded me of these short fan movies. Even with the high production value (cgi, etc.), it just feels to me like fans made it and put it on youtube. Still going to watch more of it, and so far I'm not hating it, so there's that.

I just watched the second episode and I actually find it to be not that bad so far. Certainly better than the last 5 or what movies. Getting some serious "Lone Wolf & Cub"-vibes. Wouldn't be surprised if that gave lots of inspiration.

Yeah, pretty much. The gameplay is great, but the writing at times...

Yes. Imo RDR2 is a lot better than the first game. It improves in pretty much every area.

Not sure if I "love" it, but I'm having quite a lot fun with it.

It's a sort of GTA in wild west. tl,dr because I wrote about it often already in here - The story is captivating, the characters are very likable, and the game world is full of details, making it feel alive. Combat gets tedious after a while, because the game is just throwing mindless drones at you. The game is also 100% linear. It's a Rockstar game, alright. PS: If you want the game to look like on PS4(pro), you'll need a beefy PC. The minimum requirements aren't so bad, but it takes a toll on the graphic side, and IMO you'll miss out a lot if you don't run it on very high / ultra settings. A big part of the game is riding through the landscape and be in awe of what you see.
