Most anticipated games .... your wishlist of games to come
I’m curious about what Tim and Leonard are up to. Cyberpunk 2077 kinda repelled me with certain (implied) design decisions, but cautiously looking at what happens... Then there’s Disco Elysium, Copper Dreams, Wasteland 3 and mild interest for Bard’s Tale 4 and Phoenix Point. Not much else in the horizon.

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Yeah, so it seems. And even if there was ”something”, I don’t really have a stance either for Urquhart’n co’s alleged satanic tendencies nor MCA’s proposed betrayed, angelic honesty. A fun read, though.

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Must be something like that.

Chris Avellone: The Final Frontier
Dunno, it just seemed like a bit too sudden eruption. Not too long ago he seemed to try and be a lot more careful with words.

Hah. He sounds a bit tipsy, he's been posting all night out there.

Time for Obsidian to kickstart a science-fantasy, PoE like, RPG?
You mean Disco Elysium? It’s sounds interesting and I’ll be giving it a whirl when ever it’s released. But from what I understand, it’s also the sort of... ”Terry Gilliam meets The Naked Gun” -type of game. What I’m after is a more serious type of setup (e.g. Blade Runner) also with a more traditional combat (TB) where combat is a thing (though not an RPG, the original Police Quest had a relatively nice ratio of action/combat content). Come to think of it... ”Police Quest 2050 the RPG” could actually be pretty neat.

I’d much rather a near-future scifi-noir detective mystery setup grounded in reality (even if not too strictly so, at least as much that it can be relatable). With open ended, reactive, and systems heavy gameplay and narrative.
- The Outer Worlds Trademarks (Obsidian's AAA RPG?)

How about a new genre of isometric?
What do you mean by this? Non-magical non-tolkienic (any derivative, really), science fiction and stuff grounded more on reality than those kinds of fantasies.

How about a new genre of isometric?
I’d gladly see a non-fantasy oldschool RPG from Obsidian that was lighter on combat and mixed in puzzles and other adventure game elements. The B.A.T. series of old had some of that back in the day. It wasn’t isometric, but it was a sort of adventure RPG.

Latest Avellone DRAMA - accuses Obsidian HR of harassment, regrets signing NDA
Still going on about this sounds to me that he actually didn’t want to leave, but did so anyway.

Steam or gog
If it’s on GOG, it’ll not enter my Steam catalogue (or be used if it is there already). I only use Steam for bigger new releases that are not going to enter GOG in some time (if at all), but those are extremely rare cases these days.

Fallout 4: New Vegas
It’s far slicker as a first person shooter than New Vegas. That’s for sure. I don’t view that as a good thing, but I suppose it’s what Bethesda wanted.

Fallout 4: New Vegas
I’d rather had seen New Vegas converted to Wasteland 2 engine.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
It should've been more about accuracy than damage.

What are you playing right now?
So, people with XCOM 2... What the hell's in there to make it almost 60gig deal (only slightly smaller than GTA V)? I'm retired and senile before that thing's downloaded.

What are you playing right now?
Nothing "new and interesting" to play right now, so might start a rerun of Fallout for the 20th anniversary.

Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
Hypothetically speaking.

Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
I don't think it matters, really. I have no idea of a root cause other than we seem to live in an age of oversensitivity and some sort of identity confusion where every individual thinks s/he's a unique piece of fragile porcelain art entitled of representation and if you so much as even breath too loud in that direction, there's a crack and all hell breaks loose. The best medicine to such is ignoring it. I don't care about such matters in games, though, unless it's being rubbed in my face that I somehow "need to" pay attention to it.

What are you playing right now?
Took me a year to finish it. I got to the big city in in the second act and then the game just died on me. Repetitive, boring, choresome. I picked it some eight months later and pushed through by force - the story was generally well done (though disturbingly overwritten at times) and some quests had some neat things going on (like the Bloody Baron stuff), but... meh, the gameplay isn't very good. I don't regret buying and playing it, but it's quite overrated.

What are you playing right now?
No, but the comparison doesn't really work because they are completely different games. I wouldn't even put them in the same genre. The original was very much a shooter, albeit a creative one for its time. The new one is much more of an action RPG. Aha... so the pattern continues (again). It was the same with Fallout. "No, but the comparison doesn't really work because they are completely different games. I wouldn't even put them in the same genre." Yep, I think Bethesda and Arkane pretty much stated that the game has no relation to the original Prey, the name just fits with what they did with the game. Or something to that effect. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my recollection.

Equality?
Pushing an agenda inevitably finds opposition. Even an agenda to hug kittens? I guess if they are not your kittens... Hey, I like cats. But the old man I had as my neighbor when I was younger used to poison them.
