  1. Not surprising, apparently the male dominated Wikipedia purged itself of the feminists for reasons that must only be because of feminism. Then again, was reading people commenting that it is ok to break a site's policies if it is to...uh..defend yourself from hate groups. I'd thought these people would be against ends-justify-the-means thinking, but there you go
  2. Rubacava was fun enough for me that exploring every nook and cranny was enjoyable, was truly sad when Year 2 ended. Never did like 3 or 4 that much.
  3. What is cryptic about Year 2? I do remember taking a while to figure out what that key from Nick was for.
  4. Heh, so wonder how long until they nuke this thread and the topic. Also is that otherkin term TB used an actual thing people use or did he invent that? Strange people these days.
  5. You are the one who posted you had no idea who any of them were, as if that were a surprising thing. If you don't watch TV and you don't watch SNL, which is basically the main pipeline for comedic actors to get in movies, then you shouldn't be surprised that you don't recognize them. Roseanne would be great...if it was 25 years ago. How about Roseanne, Oprah, Ellen, and Kathy Lee Gifford. I was adding the gender thing for the other posters who seem to think that is a big deal. It wasn't intended to be a surprise, just the fact of the matter actually. SNL being funny must be a new thing, spawned Fallon and Meyers after all. The all women cast does seem like a shameless PR thing though. Plenty of people loving this just fof that, an article calling this important is my favorite. Also no Canadian is all that funny.
  6. Yet more "Remastering"
  7. Must have been an awkward experience for all, I'd have to say.
  8. Pre-order cancelled.
  9. Nope I don't, I just don't watch SNL or TV for the most part. I suppose that is a requisite thing for someone, to you ? Am rather surprised to see SNL is still a source for humour since I last watched it ~'99 or so, heh. Also, when did I have a problem with the case being women ? If they chose Samberg or Rogan I'd still be unimpressed (though in that case I am aware those two are not funny). Ah, wait, McCarthy was in that cop movie, "The Heat", I recall her now.

  12. Hm, have seen nothing with these women in it, so have no idea if they are funny. Though with current people marked as such I am sure they are not.
  13. Why not just make movies in the similar vein rather than rebooting things.
  14. Now that is strange to me, family that enjoys seeing one another. I'd go armed if mine wanted to meet up
  15. On this note, I believe one of the most under-used tools in the more-escalated arguments of this forum is the question "What did you mean by that?". What do you mean, exactly?
  16. Got Grey Goo, so will try that tomorrow most likely. Toss up of whether I feel like playing WoW, Arma 3, Blackguards or Cities in Motion 2.
  17. It is entertaining for the participants though, adds an extra edge and thrill to posts . Ultimately though that is just the lifecycle of a forum thread, for most topics that warrant that much heat it is usually more than a one on one fight and is over something notable. If not then it ends a whimpering death as people agree to disagree and move on. Really isn't as if we are trying to come to an official resolution on any matters, after all.
  18. I've not seen any be the type that think that, Gftd1's pepper spray fetish aside anyway, but things are rarely that clear. Also it is hard to determine if the person is just pulling your leg - this is a forum for games, after all, there is no need to be serious. And so what if they don't have much empathy ? That's not nor should it be a requirement for a member on a forum or a moderator. Moderator is there to enforce rules and that is it, if the rules and other moderators agree something is bad then they act on it, is the job after all. He or she doesn't need to feel sad or upset or whatever about it.
  19. Well, that's your problem then. I highly doubt any moderators are cool with torture (seriously though, name them if you're going to throw a dart like that), some may argue that it's justified as a means to get intelligence and that is their hill to fight on. And even if they are, they may very well do their "job" regardless. Except when I report promanc....errr never mind.
  20. Hm, well offensive is a vague bar, especially these days where it seems everyone can take outrage over everything (If I find out a Obsidian employee likes Chelsea FC I am done with this company, though). Just that over the many years I've ben on forums, IRC, newsgroups I've come to just either ignore threads whose topics are uninteresting - though some times fun to joke in - and to not let writings of people bother me all that much. Also, it's nice to let people be as loose as you can, so to speak. Mind you, this is for things that may be offensive but still have some value, rather than being stuff akin to "I hate them black people". Nothing comes immediately to mind as I am quite tired, but you can think up some. In that case if people are offended by others' opinions and how they colour things, they can argue it or perhaps just suck it up and deal with it. This place really isn't as bad as some people seem to think it is. Even if we let promancers stay here.
  21. There's an example of abusing a metaphor, if there was one. Anyway, the current moderation standards are fine, people can be a bit hostile, snipe at one another and generally get into what most people accept is a heated argument. Not necessarily "**** flinging" - though I guess that is just general abuse or something ? The degree to which this tradeoff is "good" (though this is ignoring the risk getting a horde of vapid idiots in response or something) does depend on what your standard is - if it is BruceVC for example, we're hosed. I guess I assume most people in the world aren't made of tissue paper and can stand some degree of hostility without freaking out and leaving (then again some of the PE joiners had drama-queen exits )
  22. Better safe than sorry, I guess. Does seem they are looking at their modelling though, so here's hoping they get a more accurate one (apparently the US model is inferior to a EU one, due to less computing power available)
  23. Yeah, saw that. Her problem to deal with, at least with her examples - threads you find irritating you don't have to read (promancers have said this in the past). I guess those two threads qualify as a 'microagression' ? Heh. Thing is Obsidian gets flak and heat in the 'outside world' anyway, some of it may be deserved and some of it not. Sounds like her idea of 'welcoming' is just to be praising. Needs a bit more than that if you want to condemn this forum as a place that 'needs to change', though I'd be amused to hear what you would say does. I mean meaningful work as in completing the project they made, not getting into a back and forth with customers.
  24. That's what I thought too, who knew the dark truth? I guess the only conclusion that we can reach from this is that SA and the Codex are much more nurturing environments that don't spew toxic bile. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. A conclusion from you that doesn't involve drones or pepper spray ? What the heck, man. But anyway, I'm not really big on needing to interact with developers a lot, that way either leads to fanboyism or deluded folk giving direction (possibly some in between, but feh) and that is annoying to developers. They, presumably, know what they are trying to do and how to do it, so just content to read updates every now and then.
  25. Shame there's no way to get a discount and not bother with the 'commentary' (goodie I can hear Schafer or $df_employee[$rand()]'s opinion on things). No real rush to get this, debatable it'll pop on a sale for some time to come but might as well wait.
