  1. All right, so no attributes. Can you tell me what's Endurance then? I always wondered what were the benefits of that perk, Rome-ance
  2. I have questions as well : --- are there attributes in this game? Or is it only skills and weapon modifications? --- if there are attributes, how do they affect Mike? --- how exactly do we "buy" skills? Dragon Age system (one point, one skill/talent) or Deus Ex system (we gain points, each level of each skill costs a certain number of these points)? --- do you intend to speak a little bit more of some characters and plot points before the game ships? Because at this point, we really know only the very, very basics.
  3. Nah, I think he's just reacting to the recent discussion on the boards about the new motto for the agency His twit still has the "Nullos can insisto" motto on it, we've seen that is has been modified since then
  4. I think it means that the 40k bugs mentioned by Sega was greatly exaggerated. About the "internally generated", I don't know what it means. Perhaps that those bugs were not really big or hard to track?
  5. I don't think we were ever said how many weapons there was in every branch... Good news, from Chris Avellone's twitter : Good questions he? That's good, I always felt the interviewers always asked the same questions about the game in past interviews, I found it annoying!
  6. That's kinda old news actually, he announced it himself on the NWN 2 boards a while back... Last I heard, he was working on the secret project, right?
  7. Aren't you there too Volourn? On-site Bioware fanboy and anti-Bioware hater or something Alas when it comes to Obsidian there are two absolute haters on that board. One of them even has his sig to say it!
  8. Dracula and Frankenstein were literature monsters first and foremost, no? Dracula has lost most of his iconic since vampires have been used and reused for all kinds of settings, their look and feel changed so many times. Todays, the only features everyone associates with vampires are the pointed teeth. I'm not a fan of the aliens, but its undeniably true that the design of the Alien was the work of a (deranged?) genius. I don't know any of the symbolism behind it, and I don't really care, but the design just strikes as unforgettable. Even the imitations (Tyranids and other Zergs) haven't done so good since!
  9. I'm not so sure about Chris going, call it a hunch...
  10. He's posted some precisions about the Latin motto of the Alpha Protocol agency recently, so I think he's back.
  11. Gah, sorry. I actually wondered if you were ironic or not. Turns out you were.
  12. The burned guy's face still attracts my eye, and still creeps me out... wonder who that guy is... hope we won't see too much of him or I might have nightmares
  13. The game is finished, or really near completion. Avellone has said his focus has shifted from Alpha Protocol towards New Vegas, the team has been reduced to a minimum since at least one month, a guy at Sega already has people playing the game and asking them to come up with ideas that could be used for a sequel, and bug fixing went from 40000 identified bugs to just a handful. The game is finished, it's now up to Sega to market and distribute the game. Since Avellone has submitted a form for a panel at PAX East in march, I would expect the game to be out in April.
  14. That's because some people told to the Obsidianites that "Nullus can insisto" didn't mean anything at all and was actually all kind of wrong in the latin grammar area. So Mr Rorie went into a quest (there was proof somewhere ) to make a sentence that actually made sense.
  15. First pics, with all the characters. Third row. Character on the far left. I winced.
  16. Regal talk? Like Louis XIV?
  17. I think people are going ahead of themselves when they say that Alpha Protocol 2 is already "in the work". The only thing Constantine said is that while they played and tested Alpha Protocol, they removed a lot of things, some of them were really stupids, and some of them they thought they should keep it and just put more thoughts into it, in order to make it works for a sequel or another game. I don't see it as proof that another game is already in the work. Can Obsidian even manages to launch another full-scale project with New Vegas and their secret project in the work?
  18. In a country adverse to train transportation, I find the irony sublime Okay people, time to file this under the "very not likely". From here :
  19. I've heard somewhere that Pete Hines said, in reaction to that rumor, that, like usual, people made a surprising good job of amplifying everything The more I look to that news, the more I'm skeptical about the vehicles part. It seems to be way too much developed and important for this kind of game, it is not a race simulator! If the vehicle part is true, I don't think it will be nearly as much as developed as that rumor suggests. The rest sounds plausible though, but still nothing sure.
  20. I was waiting and here it is : Mike Thorton's twit about this news : I don't quite understand it though...
  21. Some of the best stuff can be bought, and it's not cheap The most powerful ones are quick to empty one's pocket completely! It's not like Baldur's Gate 2 where three to four items that are sold are among the best in their category, and their price isn"t that high when compared to the amount of cash one cam make in that game!
  22. But the cinematics were important in the Witcher, it helped to show the story and characters! I don't think the story could have so enthralling without the voice overs and the movement during dialogues. I don't see what courage has to do with this. The cards were just a gimmick to go with the reputation of Geralt as a man very popular with the ladies. It wouldn't hurt that they give it a lot less PR though. And that some fans stop saying that it is what makes that game mature. I liked the cards, but the fixation some fans have with it is just ridiculous.
  23. Yeah, the ending was a bit disappointing, I do hope that the sequel can use data from the precedent game to use, but I have doubts... @ jaguars4ever : I really played only one time, and I chose the neutral path. But I remember that on one of my first playthrough (that I didn't finish), I wanted to side with the Order because the leader of the Scoia'tael stroke me as particularly arrogant and unlikable, while I really liked Siegfried and what he stood for. Not to mention that most of the non-human side characters that I liked were really critics of the Scoia'tael, namely Zoltan and Vivaldi.
  24. I believe that performance-wise, the biggest improvement came with patch 1.2, who drastically reduced the loading times. is absolutely true, that's why I say is depicted in shades of gray, has a weapons dealer vision that is definitely not "right". is also open to speculation, but , so I don't think he is innocent either.
  25. I agree with that statement, except perhaps for the end choice of the first chapter. Even if one of the sides is really depicted in shades of grey, the other one is so evil that there really isn't a choice at all. Why are you bothered by the QTE and focus on cutscenes? I see it as a natural evolution for the game, whose combat was never really that hard or tactical. More focus on the "show" aspect for it seems to be the way to go for me, especially if they keep the formula of the lone witcher Geralt against everyone else. This drives to one of my "fears" for that game : a lack of innovation and new gameplay features. The impression that we're going to play a Witcher 1.5 isn't leaving me alone right now. But hey, I really look forward to it. It's a close second to Alpha Protocol for me. Even if they probably won't come out at the same time at all.
