My system specs: 4gb DDR2 800 5-5-5-12 (only 3gb visibile, using windows XP 32bit) Nvidia 8800 gts g92 AMD Athlon 64x2 6400+ 3.2ghz dual-core processor Game has run absolutely smoothly on max settings for me. The graphics look fine (better than DA:O), though I don't really like the blur effect in the flash forward sequences. I have no problems accessing the clearinghouse at all, no slowdown to speak of. I've also only seen one or two minor bugs. I guess I'm lucky?

Alpha Protocol 2, suggestions.
Oblarg replied to Reg1.1's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Please, no. This would be so out of place it would hurt. I thought the CQC worked great, though I'd like to see a bit more variety like the point-blank shot ability (maybe knife finisher, or something like that?). Not actually man...just imagine just like u wanna learn the skills to be a fighter u could just learn off from other spies or experts its just makes it better. Because i think the one style they used in this game kinda blows...lacking touch... No self-respecting spy wastes time running around doing errands for a kung-fu master to learn his art. No. That would be painfully immersion-breaking. -

My god... I just had the most horrible idea.

So you just accept best guesses and estimates and made up figures. okay. Whatever you choose for your career, don't be a statistician. You'd hate it. Statistics should be very clear in methodology in gathering data and in the margin of error created from extrapolating the data into the broader population. There are very clear guidelines as to how to do this and generally speaking the mathematics is sound (the typical problem with "lies, damn lies and statistics" lies in the methodology (non random samples is a big problem), trying to obfuscate margin of errors or poor application of the data to non-supportable results). Anyhow, good statistics are fairly different from best guesses and will have some logic behind their provided information. Statistics has more fudging numbers and making questionable assumptions than pretty much any other branch of mathematics. -

Ehm, if you shoot immediately after pressing the right mouse button, sure. Then it's somewhere in the reticle (notice how large it is?). Give it time and it will be 100% guaranteed hit where you aim, with a critical hit. Headshot usually means dead. Except for the really tough guys (Deus Vult usually took 2 headshots). It never depended on "luck" for me. Hitting wasn't the hard part at all, not getting hit is the challenge... Nah I noticed this with perfectly aimed pistol critical hits.....about 1 in 10 times it hits the unaware enemy dead in the back of the head and does little to no damage for no reason whatsoever....and I'm talking completely unaware enemies not yeallow alerted or red aware with perfectly line up criticals. I had maxed pistol skill, and well-aimed pistol crits took out the enemy 100% of the time for me.

Max your weapon skill and the damage is about as consistent as in any other shooter out there.

Pick the option that's for humoring him. It's funny as heck because you give him some stupid conspiracy theory and he turns around and believes everything you say and sends you an "OMG!" styled email. Does he actually believe it, or is it all just banter? I have a feeling Heck just places huge value on a good sense of humor. He believes it... he literally comes back and says "I knew you were the perfect guy! I hadn't thought about that connection you made! I sahll now investigate it!" I realize this, I've sent that email. I think it's all a joke. I don't think Heck is actually supposed to believe that crap. It seems more his personality to play along with it as a joke.

I'm sure Nolan North must have had a blast voicing a character that is not your usual deadpan anti-hero He looked like a sad dog when I said "no killing", it's hilarious His impersonation of the pleading VCI member had me laughing harder than I had in a long time. "Please don't kill me! I only wanted to offer you five million dollars!"

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhh... What? (Or wait, you don't mean changes based on actions in the past?) I do mean changes changes based on actions in the past. The middle branches fairly well, but the end is basically the same thing, with only one or two major branches. I don't count having a different handler as a branch.

I'm up for a sequel. Here's what could use improvement: Remove the visible reputation meter. Reduce the skill curve for weapons - they're too weak at low skill levels. Increase the impact of the various weapon stats, and clearly define what each one does. Improve the plot branching at the end of the game. The branching in the middle is superb, but the end is fairly one-track. More reactivity based on skills. The few times I had options available to me based on my skills felt *really* awesome, and I'd love to see more of it. Remove the post-mission evaluation, I like uncovering people's reactions to my actions through dialogue, having it spoonfed to me after each mission is annoying. Add alternate ways to beat bosses, bullet-sponge bosses don't mesh very well with stealth characters.

More Reviews, What to expect

Yeah, I'm completely baffled. What's even more baffling is that in my 2 playthroughs, I have hardly noticed any bugs. The ones that I have noticed are minor. The AI isn't the brightest ever, but it's not terrible. I simply don't see the gamebreaking bugs that many reviewers are criticizing. Hell, I don't even think the combat is that clunky, I found combat with the pistol to be very fun once your skill gets high enough. -
so how is this game on pc
Oblarg replied to CrunkJuice's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Aiming is *only* frustrating when you're starting the game and have very few points in your weapon skill of choice. As the game progresses, the action starts flowing very well - better than ME1, I'd say. Some things are overpowered (chain shot), some are underpowered (shotguns), but overall it's still quite nice. -

Reasonable scientists and others are challenging the hysteria and slowly de-bunking the whole thing, I suppose. What dream world do you live in? -

Israel butchers civilians in international waters

When in doubt, call people who disagree with Israel antisemites. No, really, it works every time! How about some actual arguments, bro? -
And, I saw Fates Warning live last night. Most incredible experience I've ever had. Aresti stole the ****ing show, he was so incredible (the rest of the band was in top form, too). I was five feet from the stage or so, as close as I could get. Absolutely amazing.

North Korea attacks and sinks South Korean ship, killing 46 people
Oblarg replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
I wouldn't deny for one moment that I'm a bit of a ****. However in answer to your points: 1. My experience is that people almost never outright lie, even on the internet. Because doing so is far worse than admitting defeat to a stranger. It's an admission of defeat to yourself. 2. Of course people have credibility online. One reason I enjoy this forum so much is that by and large people here have good credibility. I can honestly say I have respect for several members based solely on their online behaviour. 3. Direct experience counts for something. If I argue with a farmer about cattle rearing when he has actually reared cattle that is a relevant component of the debate. One does not have to be a communist to have experience of man management, enterprise, policing, or revolution - all components of communism. 4. This is ALL relevant because LoF is all about communism. North Korea is all about communism. Both persist in a persecution complex, blindly adhering to a discredited form of government predicated on violent oppression. If we cannot convince LoF of the faults of communism when he lives in the USA, how the hell are we going to convince North Koreans when they 'believe' in a webwork of state surveillance? No, people don't have credibility online, they have an illusion of credibility. You have no way of detecting if they're talking out of their asses, nor do you have any way of knowing if they have any direct experience. You should stop with your assumptions and debate the points, not the person, especially because over the internet you have no way of actually knowing the person. -

Oblarg replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
Excuse me, but... You have no way of knowing this, and all this argument does is make you look like a ****. This is the internet, people are anonymous. You have no way of knowing what he has or has not done, and all you're doing right now is spewing unfounded ad-hominem to try to attack credibility, except you can't attack credibility over the internet because no one has any to begin with. Stop this crap. Even if were to ignore the glaring problem of an anonymous medium for the debate, your expectations are ridiculous - you can't honestly refuse to accept any argument in favor of communism unless the person arguing has actually run a communist nation. That's just idiotic. Edit: I can't believe that word is censored. -
Again, did they not skill up in any of the guns? They're underwhelming at the start, but if you dump enough points in them they're godly (well, maybe not the shotgun).

I played through with maybe one or two bugs, which were minor annoyances at worst. I fail to see how the game is a "buggy mess" as some are making it out to be.
