Actually, the "show the moods rather than a summary" idea certainly could be construed as a copy of AP (not that it would in any way be accurate, but it would be defensible, which is what makes it such good potential trolling material). As for AP stealing from ME, I disagree. AP's dialogue system wasn't even really a "wheel," and the similarities to ME's dialogue were superficial. Anyway, I don't think I'll be playing DA2 unless they cut the number of enemies down by at least a factor of 2, rework the clunky ability trees (what the **** is up with the worthless archery tree?), and have a more engaging plot. Yeah, it's asking a lot, but I really can't say I enjoyed DA:O after Ostagar.

Not even close to the degree to which I've seen it on the BioWare forums. Besides, you seem to dismiss everything you don't agree with as fanboyism. You know, I legitimately enjoyed AP more than ME2. -
nevertheless, it sold very well. so what is biowarian motivation to make wholesale changes? conventional wisdom suggests that with a sequel it is far lass risky to give people more o' what they want rather than trying to come up with a new approach, no? HA! Good Fun! I regret buying the original. I can't bring myself to finish it, it's terminally boring. It's a pity, because Ostagar, while cheesy as ****, actually drew me in and brought up my expectations for a wonderful fantasy adventure. Unfortunately, the rest of the game was a ****ing mess.

I sure hope the writing and level design in DA2 are better, or I probably won't bother with it. DA:O was ****ing painful at the worst points, and uninspired at the best.

Reading this plot analysis, and yeah, it's better (though less humorous). edit: Still I disagree with the "the only logical option is keeping the base" line of thought. I destroyed the base in my playthrough because I felt it was likely there was some sort of failsafe that would come back and bite me in the ass if I didn't. After all, the reapers are supposed to be smart, right? (debatable, I know, given the idiotic **** they pull in the second game) I would position myself as cranky grognard. Oh we have a few of those too, must've forgotten for a moment. PS: Our Trolls > Bio's Trolls R00FLES! Our trolls type with better spelling and grammar, so obviously. Goofiness aside, I've never seen fanboyism quite so blatant on the Obsidian forums as I have on the BioWare forums. Most around here are willing to admit that AP had some serious faults (though I still love the game, regardless). -

I glanced at it, saw a flood of angered fanboys, and closed the tab. BioWare fans are ****ing insufferable. Edit: Finished watching. He ****s up his analysis a bit at the end (Repears *are* the ships, etc.) and I don't agree with him that there is no reason to blow up the base, but overall it's a fairly good analysis of why ME2's plot is a jumbled mess. -

Defensive I see, calling me out on what I said as a lie please exit to the steam forums before you call me a liar and i'm not discussing if your a fanboy anymore. I was pointing out the fact that you seem to think that you need to own more than 75% of a companies games to be a fanboys. And guess what fanboys don't have to love everyone of their game 100% , does anyone love a game 100% there can't be improvements, things you would have done differently? Also i'm sorry I called you a fanboy that wasn't the right word I guess how about "defender of Bioware"....No wait thats no good.....uhhhhhh Oh I got it "one who loves RPGS and hate what bioware has done to ME2 though you still quite enjoyed I see and for Obsidian making AP and failing hard at it(matter of opinion don't hurt me AP lovers)." And i'm not going to look through your life history about how you really feel about ME2, I used the wrong word I just noticed when someone said something bad someone (not naming that person) would be no AP is worst. Watching that video now. Already crippled by laughter. This guy is voicing every single criticism I had, and it's very satisfying. -
I never finished DA:O. I just completely lost interest after reaching the final level, never bothered to kill the archdemon. Part of the problem was the atrocious level design (groups of enemies around every corner, etc.), and the other part was the completely unmoving dialogue. I felt no emotional attachment to any of the characters, at all. The influence system didn't help this, as handing out gifts in order to unlock the bland character sidequests felt uninspired and boring. The plot wasn't too spectacular, either. The atmosphere was good, but not developed enough - there certainly was enough lore, but there wasn't enough to remind you of it during the gameplay. I just felt like I was going through the motions by the end of the game, and I wasn't enjoying it all that much.

I have a facebook page. I don't use it, though. There is no sensitive information on it - only my hobbies and musical preferences. I check it maybe once a month to see if any friends sent me a message. So, this really doesn't bother me all that much.

Except AP wasn't that buggy. It certainly was LucasArt's fault that an unfinished KotOR2 was released. Voluorn, the similarity in the dialogue systems are superficial. The conversations play out very differently in each game - you don't navigate through dialogue in AP in the way you do in ME - AP's dialogue is much more directed, there's no central "options" section you can revisit later from which you can decide which branch of dialogue to proceed with, and there are no dead-end branches. The skill system is similar, as is the combat, but the combat had already been done in numerous other games (minus the dice rolls) and the skill system isn't all that original either. The way in which the narrative flows is completely different in the two games, minus the hub structure (which isn't even implemented in a similar manner). -

Claiming AP is similar enough to ME to be ME3 is a joke. Aside from the third-person action combat and the inclusion of a dialogue system, the two don't have all that much in common. -
And those societies are so much better off for it, amirite? Here's a thought: many of the economic systems that the Europeans planted in Africa simply do not work in that environment. That's not a good thing, Please elaborate. Not necessarily economic systems, but: Much of the deaths due to Malaria are due the the Europeans imparting a way of life that doesn't work in much of sub-Saharan Africa. Large, densely-populated cities are a really bad idea. Malaria was much less of a problem when the population was dispersed and agrarian.

Why? I'm pissed at neither. From the looks of it, both are just going for an obvious attention grab. I don't feel this guy represents me any more than, say, the heirs of the German American Bund do you. He just happens to live in the same continent as I do. Whether or not you *feel* he represents you and whether or not outsiders will take him as representative of your views are two different issues entirely. He reflects badly on the Belgian government, that's for sure.
