Meat Types and Inventory Management
ScritchOwl replied to ufologan's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
I say you should be able to use jerky in the same way you could the raw meats. Examples aphid shoes should be able to be dried aphids. I mean are you putting your foot into a flesh aphid each time. Weevil shields would begin decaying if you use those flesh chunks Smoothies should be the same. Let a person stock those water fleas as jerky for swimming and waterbreathing -
New boss bug that chills in the Haze
ScritchOwl replied to William Akhurst Hultz's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Maybe give a perk instead. Like how brood mother gives you mama genes. Either have it block the damage to your clothing or give you immunity to the fog or heck maybe include a blueprint that gives your armour immunity like ladybug face mask+ -

Rideable insects
ScritchOwl replied to Achievement Hunter's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
The ladybugs already look like they have part of the taming loaded in the base game. If you climb on one of these giants and smack them with a weapon they have a bucking animation. Not just the ram or side slam but an up+a motion attack to throw you. Combine this with a saddle and you have a rodeo. Maybe you have to offer them a treat and while they are sitting you attach a harness around their collar (don't wanna lock the wings down). Then you have a breaking mini game or context based button hold. If you get bucked off you give them a treat an try again. If this method is used I really recommend the whip and possibly a lasso so that way you can keep a tamable mob pinned to an area or bring it to your taming paddock. Other mobs that are rideable could follow suit as this bucking is in stinkbugs but not spiders and bombardier which frames are either to small or species is to aggro -
Hmm well since the are part of the same company how about the Antigonizer. Omnitech already sounds like they would try to stuff 1 million shrunken humans with 5 cats in a vault together

New boss bug that chills in the Haze
ScritchOwl replied to William Akhurst Hultz's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Give it a pollen effect so that way it hides better in the haze.bi don't know about the horsehair worm as if any parasite is gonna be in the haze it would be the fungus mutating weevils and mites. Maybe the pollen effect would be triggered by fungus nodes. -
Protists hmmmm nature is scarier than you think. This protist is bigger than the player and it's an engulfer https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_(genus) Then you got a smaller volvox type which grows into a spherical arrangement. Maybe it could be a portable water item as they grow 2mm

Size of the insects.
ScritchOwl replied to DariusGalaxyz's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Be glad we are not playing with Arkansas sized wolf spiders and mosquitos. Our wolf spiders are bigger than quarters and mosquitos that would cover a dime..........given we have a coin in-game that would mean these guys are about 1/4 the size. Shieldbugs are the right size compared to lady bugs -
I have noticed something that may or may not be intended. However it is nifty to exploit. Grass planks floating in water can be stood on. If they have momentum you can go quite a distance. So use this and put in two items. A oar which I would recommend being the length of a stem. This could get you momentum on a plank. The other is a canoe. It could be useful for moving between the two bank of the pond or just cruising through the flooded zone. Have your person carry it like planks but make it where once picked up it just list you as full.

I play on the Xbox one and I have had some events that caused a massive slowdown. Currently the persistence of free existing objects such as grass planks, stems, dropped rope, dropped stems, and other dropped items that get formed if a structure collapses is causing a slowdown. Placing the items on a pallet or in a chest resolves this issue but it is struggling to keep up to due so. Please include a reset for loose material in the same way you have reset bug position. I also believe the amount of items falling through the ground would need to be cleaned as a have seen Manny planks and acorn pieces fall through. Side note the event that led to this is that I had created a suspension bridge between the pond pagoda and the rocks on the shore. Evidently the scaffolding on the pagoda did not create an anchor point as the oak side entrance had a wolf spider get into a cqc with two ladybugs and they did enough damage to destroy the scaffolding and the floors which cause the entire structure to collapse flooding the world with around 1300 free floating resource pieces.

I don't think the player should be touched on stack size or space....save a fanny pack upgrade(it is the 80s) however I think the chest inventory should definitely be increased. I keep a base I call the larder where I have months of food and water stored, grass and stems, and mob drops. I make expeditions gathering and running back which is what I am pretty sure the game intends you to play. However the need for some materials is exceptionally high. Mainly quartzite, mite fuzz, thistle, and berry leather. Now in single player things are manageable but when you get a group of four they need to repair weapons and armor (even worse on Xbox because of a bug that eats half the durability of stored items). Maybe burgle could get an new chip to address the concerns Fanny pack: hot bar items are now treated as equiped though effects are not active until held. Basically putting an item in the hot bar removes the item stack from inventory so if you are down it's still in your hot bar when you respawn. This allows resources to be stored where tools used to be effectively giving you 8 more stacks. Logistics: increases stack size in storage. Key items are arrows now stack up to 100 per chest stack, 50 per basket. Healing items are now 20 per stack in storage, resource are 25. Locked storage: player sets a pin on the chest. Only the host can overide this if the player is not in-game. Also prevents theft from bugs. Cold storage: prevents item decay(hatching). Items inside have progress bars reset so item can be reset for meat beverages(honey) and eggs only

Create your own character
ScritchOwl replied to Draklane's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
I should go I should go I should go I should go I dunno it could be worked. One character had a lot of inflections in another game. -
Since fish scales are a form of biological glitter why not use this in game. Put a fish scale in a grinder and bake with sap and acid to make a glitter pouch. This item when hucked will tag an enemy with a glitter like effect. This makes a creature to stand out and be tracked if it's a runner(aphid). Once a creature is marked if it is sensed by an aggro mob for it's type they will be put as a higher priority than you regardless of you attacking it or not. Example if you were to tag a lady bug when it's by an orb weaver the weaver will become hostile to it. If you tag anything around mites they will mob it. The downside is two fold. One the tagged creature may or may not stay aggro with you as priority so example if you try to get a wolf spider tagged swarmed by lawn mites it will probably still target you over them. The other is that some mobs eat each other. So that means tagging a stinkbug by a wolf spider will result in the wolf spider eating the loot. This might help you get out of a jam but don't expect the loot for it!

You get the miner hat from the firefly. Would be nice as an accessory slot item though or filter glasses to let you see through the haze or bee pollen

Early game ranged weapon: The slingshot
ScritchOwl replied to dukeofdogs's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
The slingshot is very conditional to me. It seems as just a pebblet thrower is a waste. Now of you could select ammo for it to include Shinobi sneeze, splatburst, and those healing sausages then it could get interesting as effectively you now can have a medic, a debuffer and crowd controller. Also just the sneeze powder would be a boon for that suggested stealth armor -
Grounded would probably be 5 updates away from stealth. Currently enemies are so buggy that some enemies are oblivious to you being there until you smash their head in with a club (spiders and stinkbugs), the enemies activate the threat but run from you (ladybugs and bombardier) or aggro on to you but generate no threat(mosquitoes, mites, spiders and flying sky koi) They current state if they tried implementing with these bugs your stealth game would suffer on par with horses and chickens seeing your crimes in Skyrim. As some enemies share senses like the ants bees and orb weavers all instantly attack if your made an enemy by one in the group though the bees are hit n miss now

This game has you alone unless you have a friend. Why not include an ally in the form of a tarantula hawk. I say ally but your simply just to shrimpy for it to bother. They would flit around the garden hunting. If you were to hit a spider with "bait" while under it's gaze it would rush in and kill the spider and carry it to a burrow. Of you visit it's active burrow you would be able to go inside and collect the venom and fangs from the spider as long as you are leaving spider chunks for the larva in return. Killing the larva or getting greedy would start a hunted boss fight. Where it is looking for you and if it sees you base or not it starts a rampage. This last until death of all active players

Mosquitos chase too much
ScritchOwl replied to Dr.Drewbedoo14's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
@Nightmare006the problem isn't route or equip. The mosquitoes are effectively bugged. They freely fly through obstacles which allows them to chase because their speed is comparable to the max running speed of a player. Also they spawn in areas where they shouldn't be very often. Since they can follow the player near everywhere by just clipping through obstacles you can encounter them in the pond lab, hedge lab, oak lab and haze lab. While ladybug armor and a good tier 2 weapon can let you take out a large cluster it just turns into a marathon of hyper aggressive enemies that are always active and can annoy you while your busy for a reward that's meh at best -
If it's a mouse boss I got say we need parts from Meowser buried in the haze. What better way to dispatch a mouse than with the bones of it's mortal enemy. If you want to scale down the size go with a mole, vole or a shrew. It's still got that nice mouse vibe but I have scene wolf spiders and orb weavers especially those gold and black garden ones that are bigger than them. Given the brood mother I don't think it would be much of a size concern.
