  1. The problem with that is actual real-time is player reflex based, which a lot of RPG players don't particularly appreciate and is not very RPGish. And real turn-based is too heavy for some games, KOTOR probably being the best example. So IMO that's a more valid criticism for something like POE, not KOTOR. But ironically POE/NWN2 combat isn't bad.
  2. Combat is a bit simplistic once you learn that stuff (it was like my first or second RPG) but I found it goes well with the breezy style of the game. What kind of combat would you substitute it with?
  3. I just ignore achievements altogether. The difficulty setting is far more important. Graphics are part of the package, they don't make a game good or bad on their own (except I generally hate really low res graphics). Also they're more important for say a game with lots of exploration than for a strategy game.
  4. You wouldn't be living in the real world then. And body chopping windmills.
  5. Apparently the higher number includes all planned remediation strategies, not just the Paris Agreement. Also depends whose numbers you believe: https://judithcurry.com/2015/11/09/lomborg-impact-of-current-climate-proposals/
  6. Huh, I just checked, and no term limit for the German chancellors! Yeah, pffffttt, why would we need that. We never had any problem with particularly power ambitious chancellors, I assure you. In other news there has been a fire in the Reichstag. She's competent enough and there is something to be said for stability right now Hey Americans, what's it like to have the retarded kid everyone picks last for football for president. Fortunately Obama's gone now.
  7. again, you have revered 'cause such should be our line. HA! Good Fun! Slurring speech too.
  8. I used "metaphor" in a more general sense since you usually have trouble distinguishing metaphorical meaning from literal. https://www.quora.com/Can-a-metaphor-be-a-hyperbole-too Edit: I guess it's a lot easier to get a top secret clearance than I would've thought: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/06/06/total-vetting-fail-leftwing-snowden-fan-girl-reality-winner-gets-access-to-our-nsa-secrets/ NSA must be too busy spying on Trump to worry about such things.
  9. Once again metaphor is lost on you. Of course I didn't mean to say the MSM is literally employed by the DNC, just that they have a left-wing agenda perfectly in-tune with the Democrat party. That doesn't mean they're all Hillary supporters or Sanders supporters, just that they supported one or the other, and would prefer either to any Republican.
  10. Paris agreement was a complete scam, and wouldn't have resulted in anything except damaging the US economy if we were stupid enough to follow through: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/06/05/the-madness-of-the-parisagreement-on-climate/ The EU emissions have gone up btw.
  11. DWS is a grade A moron. They had to get rid of her to have any chance at all.
  12. Considering that all you need with KB&M is the W key and the mouse, even I didn't need to use the controller and I play every action game with a controller.
  13. Ha-ha-ha-ha. The media is the propaganda arm of the Democratic National Committee.
  14. I'd rather have a new game with the old graphics, but I'll take that.
  15. It's easier than it might seem. You just have to not waste your time on first playthroughs of bad games ;-) Not really, digital distribution led to an explosion of good games. Besides, I don't buy anything from EA, Activision or Ubisoft, so that cuts down 90%.
  16. Why would Trump submit something to the Senate that he disagrees with? Then have it certainly defeated and look like he lost? Obama and the Democrats thought they won the demographics war (and they probably have, just not quite yet), so the next President would certainly be a Democrat and follow Obama's policies. Didn't quite work out that way in spite of everyone's expectations. Also Trump could still unilaterally withdraw from a treaty even if it's ratified by the Senate, and a non-treaty agreement can not place statutory requirements on American citizens.
  17. More proof the Paris Accord was just a plot to hobble US industry: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-climatechange-german-carmakers-idUSKBN18T1Q0?il=0 Edit: A President can make agreements on behalf of the US, and it is binding in the eyes of the international community, but not under US law. So anything the government wanted to do under that agreement they would still have to pass a regulation or a law to implement.
  18. You can't just say "push for cleaner energy", that's not a plan. You have to do a cost-benefit analysis, and have a blue print for getting there.
  19. Aren't US CO2 emissions dropping faster than anyone's? And isn't the Paris agreement a bunch of symbolic BS which will never be complied with by anyone anyway?
  20. I'm always amazed people have time for second playthroughs.
  21. Since the politics thread is closed, Trump pulls out of the Paris agreement:
  22. Amazing paper animal cut-outs: https://www.yahoo.com/news/paper-animal-cutouts-slideshow-wp-090004390.html
  23. Something I discovered recently that gave me no end of trouble with the cable company now. For some connectors, pushing in the HDMI cable is not sufficient to make a good connection. You can push on it and it seems likes it's connected, but it's not. You have to jiggle the cable and push to make sure it's seated properly.
  24. American media is biased as hell, it's hardly worth mentioning. NYT attacks Trump, but can't get its own story straight: http://thefederalist.com/2017/05/31/new-york-times-parrots-democratic-spin-death-threats-scuffle-texas-legislature/
